Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Chapter 132 Getting Beaten

Qian Xiaoling initially wanted to ignore the knocking, but it was relentless. With no other choice, she sighed.

"Hey, wait for me, Er Gou. Once I take care of this, I'll be back!"

With that, Qian Xiaoling went to the office door, opened it, and walked out.

Meanwhile, Liu Ergou, who had been interrupted, had lost much of his enthusiasm. A few minutes later, Qian Xiaoling returned with a gloomy expression.

She spoke to Liu Ergou irritably, "Er Gou, just wait here by yourself for a bit. There's a problem with a patient, and I need to rush over right now!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou nodded, and Qian Xiaoling hurried away.

The office was once again empty save for Liu Ergou, but this time, he wasn't in a hurry. Instead, he sat back and relaxed. Through the window, he gazed at the scenery outside, nodding his head from time to time. He had to admit, the location of Qian Xiaoling's office was excellent. You could see the hospital grounds right from the window. While there wasn't much of a view to speak of, an occasional glance was still a good way to relieve fatigue.

Just as Liu Ergou was starting to get bored, a series of hurried footsteps echoed from outside the door. It wasn't just one person; it sounded like many people, all rushing in the same direction. This immediately piqued his interest.

Liu Ergou opened the door just as a doctor in a white coat was passing by.

He quickly stopped the man. "Excuse me, where is everyone going? Why are so many people heading in the same direction? What's the rush, giving out year-end bonuses or something?"

The doctor, who was clearly in a hurry, didn't want to answer and was about to ignore him. However, when a glimpse of Liu Ergou's robust physique caught his eye, he swallowed his refusal.

He quickly replied, "A doctor was assaulted over there! We're rushing over to help!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou raised his eyebrows in surprise. My luck is really something else. I've only been to the hospital a few times, and this is the second disturbance I've run into.

Now this is interesting.

Thinking this, Liu Ergou asked, "Which doctor is it?"

Although the doctor was anxious to leave, he still answered, "It's the new Director Qian who just took office. I heard she got beaten up over there!"

After saying his piece, the doctor didn't wait around, scrambling to catch up with the others. Liu Ergou, however, was frozen to the spot.

He absentmindedly dug a finger into his ear, as if he had misheard.

Qian Xiaoling was beaten up?!

After a few seconds of shock, he finally snapped out of it. The moment he did, he took off after the large group.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the patient's room, the doorway of which was already clogged with a dense crowd of gawkers. They stood on their tiptoes, peering into the room and muttering amongst themselves.

"Tsk tsk, you really can't come to the hospital these days. The first thing they do is order a bunch of tests. A full round of those has to be tens of thousands!"

"Well, what can you do? You have to listen to whatever the doctor says, don't you?"

"Hahaha, and that's why the doctor got beaten!"

Listening to the crowd's chatter, Liu Ergou's brow furrowed tightly. He forcefully pushed through the people, making his way toward the entrance of the ward. Many of those he shoved aside turned to complain, but when they looked up and saw his powerful build, they swallowed their words.

And so, after moving heaven and earth, Liu Ergou finally squeezed his way to the front. As soon as he found his footing, he saw two bodyguards in black suits using joint locks to pin Qian Xiaoling against the wall. A pained expression was etched on her face, and she was unable to even speak.

Just then, a hoarse voice that sounded like a duck's quack rang out.

"I'm here for treatment! Do you understand me?!"

"You can't diagnose a damn thing, but you dare order a bunch of tests? I think you're tired of living! Don't you know who I am?!"

"You two, teach this nurse a lesson! Make sure she remembers it!"

Hearing the command, the two bodyguards exchanged a glance. One of them released his grip on Qian Xiaoling and raised a hand, preparing to slap her across the face.

At that exact moment, a group of people in white coats squeezed into the room. They rushed forward, shielding Qian Xiaoling behind them. A closer look revealed they were the hospital's doctors and nurses.

Seeing this, the man who had spoken before sneered. "Oh? Quite the united front you have there!" he continued. "In that case, beat them all up. Beat them half to death, just make sure they're still breathing. I'm not short on cash! I'll pay for whatever damages there are later!"

Receiving their orders, a savage grin spread across the bodyguards' faces. They cracked their knuckles, preparing to unleash their fury on the group of medical staff.

This scene only made the onlookers more excited.

"They're gonna fight, they're gonna fight!"

"Stop wasting time! Hurry up and get on with it so we can go home!"

"Yeah, hurry up! Don't drag this out!"

As the crowd egged them on, the bodyguards were about to make their move.

It's time for me to step in.

"All of you, stop right there!" Liu Ergou roared, striding in from the doorway and planting himself directly in front of the bodyguards.

The two men looked at the man blocking their path and couldn't help but take two steps back. The man before them stood like an iron tower, radiating a terrifying aura so dreadful that even as professional bodyguards, they could barely withstand it.

Seeing the bodyguards hesitate, Liu Ergou turned his gaze to the still-gawking crowd.

"What are you all doing here?" he bellowed. "Is this spectacle so amusing to you?! Get lost! If you don't scram right now, don't blame me for what happens next!"

As he spoke, he glared murderously at the onlookers.

Meeting his gaze, the crowd collectively stumbled back several steps. Not one of them dared to utter another word. They were terrified that this iron tower of a man would turn his anger on them. If that happened, they'd face consequences they couldn't bear.

After a moment of brief, panicked thought, people began to peel away from the crowd. Once the first person left, the others quickly followed.

In the blink of an eye, the large crowd of onlookers had completely vanished.
