After saying that, Bai Xiuxiu struggled to sit up. She planned to wash up and then head home, but as soon as she tried to stand, her legs gave out, nearly causing her to fall. Her legs trembled so violently she felt like she couldn't even feel the floor beneath her.

As luck would have it, Zhang Yuehong came out for a drink of water and heard the noises. She immediately flushed. The sounds from the room drew her in, and she couldn't resist creeping closer to the door to press her ear against it. As she listened, her mind involuntarily drifted back to her own encounter with Liu Ergou in the bathroom, and her hands began to get restless.

However, inside the room, Liu Ergou suddenly stopped as if sensing something.

Fu Ya was puzzled. "What is it, Er Gou?" she asked sweetly.

Liu Ergou didn't reply. Instead, he put a finger to his lips, then pointed to the door and made a gesture as if someone were eavesdropping.

Fu Ya understood instantly and grew nervous.

Before Fu Ya could say a word, Liu Ergou had already quietly gotten up and approached the door.

Outside, Zhang Yuehong was feeling confused. Why did it suddenly go quiet? What happened...?

With that, Zhang Yuehong shot Fu Ya a scrutinizing look, a cold smirk spreading across her lips. "Fu Ya, you continue to surprise me. I can't believe you'd do something like this with a country bumpkin! If your father found out about this, don't you think he'd die from rage?"

Fu Ya immediately shot back, "Hmph! What kind of elder are you? Besides, I'm almost thirty. Is there something wrong with me having a boyfriend? And what's wrong with Er Gou? You know perfectly well how capable he is. If my dad found out, he'd only be happy!"

The situation was escalating, and it looked like they were about to start a full-blown argument. Liu Ergou couldn't stand it any longer and intervened. "Alright, that's enough! What is there to argue about? Both of you, quiet down!"

Then, Liu Ergou turned to look at the triumphant smirk on Zhang Yuehong's face. "What are you so smug about?"

With that, Liu Ergou reached out and slammed the door shut.

Fu Ya's eyes lit up at this, and she stared at Liu Ergou and Zhang Yuehong with a sparkling gaze. "Er Gou... are you…?" she said, a mischievous smile spreading across her face.

Seeing her expression, Liu Ergou didn't bother hiding it and told her the truth. "This is the second time."

Fu Ya's jaw dropped, her face a mask of astonishment. Seeing their reactions, Zhang Yuehong instinctively flinched. She wanted to run, but it was too late. Liu Ergou grabbed her and tossed her onto the bed.

Fu Ya stood to the side, a look of schadenfreude on her face.

The rest of the afternoon stretched on endlessly for both Fu Ya and Zhang Yuehong. It felt like a century with no end in sight.

By the time night fell, the two women—who would normally be at each other's throats—were lying side-by-side on the same bed, their gazes lost and unfocused as they stared at the ceiling. Both of them felt as if they'd been run over by a train, their bodies on the verge of falling apart.

In stark contrast, Liu Ergou was as energetic as ever. In fact, a closer look would reveal that he seemed even more spirited than before.

The two women rested for a good while before they finally began to recover some strength. They looked at each other and shared a smile.

As for Liu Ergou, he just grinned, put on his clothes, and headed downstairs.
