Chapter 434: That's the Vice Principal
"No, there's no limit on numbers."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Ningzhi breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good."
After speaking, she frowned again, her small face earnestly warning Jiang Nian.
"Chicks are ugly, you're not allowed to use my name to raise them!"
"What if it's a rabbit?" Jiang Nian asked.
This question stumped Zhang Ningzhi for a moment. She pondered for a bit. If it's a rabbit, it actually suits her quite well.
"That's fine."
Zhang Ningzhi is easily placated; just a bit of praise will do.
"Actually, rabbits aren't that cute; they're a tiny bit less cute than you."
"Really?" Zhang Ningzhi indeed perked up, her eyes curving into crescent moons. "Did you get a rabbit then?"
"I got a pig."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Ningzhi's face immediately turned gloomy, changing from sunny to overcast.
"If you dare use my name, you're done for!"
"Didn't use yours."
Li Hua, standing nearby, couldn't help but ask curiously.
"Whose did you use?"
"Why do you care so much? Anyway, it's not yours."
Actually, Jiang Nian used Yan Tongjie's name as a reminder to himself. This is the world of a young master, and one must work hard.
During the grand break.
Before the exercise broadcast started, Cai Xiaoqing went up to the podium to talk about class fees.
"To make a long story short, we need to collect class fees to prepare for the New Year's Eve class party. Everyone needs to pay twenty."
Upon hearing twenty, everyone in the class breathed out a sigh of relief.
If it were a hundred, that would have been hard to maintain. Some people's pocket money is given weekly, and it's gone after spending it online on Sundays.
"Twenty is manageable, still have some change left."
"After subtracting meal money this month, I only have fifty left. Taking away twenty, just kill me already."
The students who are registered as underprivileged don't need to pay. Cai Xiaoqing directly ticked off their names on the list, planning to ask Old Liu for it afterward.
"Zhizhi, help me pay, I'm so poor, so poor," Jiang Nian said coyly. "I can only beg here and there to survive."
Zhang Ningzhi glanced at him and turned her head away.
"Hmph, depends on my mood!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Nian thought to himself that if it depends on her mood, then it's definitely secure. So he let out a "Wuhu" and unscrewed his thermos to sip hot water.
Cai Xiaoqing indeed made it brief, noticing no objections, she then got off the podium.
"All expenses will be disclosed."
Next, the cultural committee member took the stage.
Dong Que, a petite girl, sings quite well. Usually, her personality is considered outgoing, and her nickname is Little Skylark.
However, Jiang Nian always mishears it as Hundred Sparrows, just a case of auditory hallucination.
She wore a pink mohair sweater paired with beige pants. The whole look seemed youthful, with just a hint of trendiness.
A typical trendy girl.
"Everyone is encouraged to sign up, each group must have a performance. No mass chorus allowed, there's a limit on numbers."
Her sweet voice fell, and no one took it seriously.
"Team leader, what should we perform?"
"Mass chorus."
"Let's sing 'Fruit Guardians' or 'Cell Warriors'."
"Didn't they say no mass chorus?"
"That's just for others to hear, we can just do a mass chorus. It's not about what she wants, but about what we have."
....
"Wuhu! Dark Night Rose!"
In the back of the jogging group.
Xu Shuang watched her silly brother expressionlessly as he held up a card, weaving through the crowd, acting all cool, shouting nonsensical words.
She couldn't help but sigh inwardly, it's hopeless.
She withdrew her gaze, recalling the scene from yesterday. She still couldn't comprehend how that person pulled out the card.
Top students have an odd habit of wanting to know the answer.
It's fine if they aren't interested, but once they start thinking about it, it becomes obsessive-compulsive, and they need to know the answer.
Last night, she looked up search engines but couldn't find any useful information.
Now, as she relaxed, her mind would inevitably wander. Deconstructing, reverse engineering, divergent thinking, and then verifying.
Yet, it was all for nothing.
All failed.
There are only four zero classes in the third year of Zhenan Middle School, with the science zero class situated behind the four classes, right next to the Olympic competition class.
Regarding this, the school leaders once had complaints.
They felt that having the arts zero class at the front lacked vigor, which didn't bode well. They suggested having the science zero class lead instead, for a good omen.
Of course, the suggestion wasn't approved.
However, for the Olympic layer's jogging team, it was indeed the science class that led, which also provoked some resentment from the zero class homeroom teachers.
They muttered bitterly, why can't it be?
Xu Shuang stood in the girls' team, the zero class in total wasn't that many. Even with the class flag, from a distance, it looked like just half a class.
She turned her head and easily spotted Jiang Nian in the rear.
"How exactly did you do it?"
"What?"
Upon hearing this, Xu Shuang glanced at the girl beside her, and slowly shook her head.
"Nothing."
"Oh, okay." The girl couldn't help but glance at Xu Shuang, admiring her fair skin with a bit of envy.
With good looks, a well-off family, excellent grades, albeit a bit cold in character, she's still pretty easygoing on regular days.
If she knew Xu Shuang had been looking at a boy just now, she'd at least be dumbfounded even if she didn't jaw-drop.
Too rare.
Xu Shuang spent most of her time keeping her cheeky brother in line, never accepting a boy's courtship, let alone paying attention to anyone.
"In the middle!! In the back!!"
The leader was emotionally unstable again, an abstract howl booming over the broadcast, resounding across the sports field.
"Is that how jogging should look? Run another lap. Stop when I say stop! Only stop when you're running properly!"
Upon hearing this, swears of "idiot" and "stupid" filled the third-class ranks.
"Sima again, what's his problem!"
"Damn, it's so hot, seriously what a dumbass. Could've stayed in today, damn it!"
"Really? What's bugging the leader again?"
"Who knows, got cheated on this morning?" Lin Dong huffed, "Don't let me find out his daughter's QQ number!"
"Chi Shi, I'm not running!" Li Hua cursed but kept trudging, "What's with the psycho, I need to buy water!"
The big guy was almost done for and mocked.
"Stop when you stop."
"I'll stop when Jiang Nian..." Li Hua was about to say when he turned his head, "What the, where's dog Jiang Nian?"
"He ran out when the leader started talking." Tao Ran pointed out directly, "He's probably sitting over there now."
"Awesome, would've gone too if I knew."
Li Hua was dumbstruck, unable to face the big guy's look. He bowed his head silently, running laps, no longer boasting.
"Why aren't you barking anymore?" Ma Guojun asked.
"Chi Shi!"
Most of the third-class folks were quite obedient; the handful as bold as Jiang Nian ran circles lazily.
As they completed a loop, their discontent was almost tangible.
"Damn, why hasn't he called stop?"
"Wow, we've run four laps now!"
Hearing the extra lap called, Xu Shuang stopped. She leisurely walked two steps by the track edge.
She glanced back, seeing some others running out too.
Originally intending to walk off the field, she noticed a familiar figure and reversed to greet them.
"You're out too?"
"Yeah."
The leader was already scolding the ones who stopped, his voice extremely furious.
"Some are stopping, don't want to put effort into even one lap? You people are why everyone's doing extra laps."
Jiang Nian wasn't fazed at all, thinking to himself "Go to hell with your stop."
Stopped be damned, I'm leaving.
Seeing Jiang Nian walk straight to the stadium exit, Xu Shuang followed suit without much hesitation.
"I'm not feeling well, can't run."
"Hmm." Jiang Nian turned back, unsure why she needed to explain, "I'm in good health."
Now it was Xu Shuang's turn to feel awkward.
"Then... no need to run anyway."
"True." Jiang Nian didn't waste time and walked along the track edge toward the exit, "I've never seen him before."
"Hmm?" Xu Shuang looked up.
"I mean that leader, never seen him." Jiang Nian said without looking back, "Some punk, suddenly starts directing."
Hearing this, Xu Shuang pursed her lips.
"It's the vice-principal."
The stadium noise was too loud; Jiang Nian in front seemed not to hear. Xu Shuang pondered a bit, quickened her pace.
As they climbed the stairs, she leaned in and said loudly.
"He's the vice-principal."
