Chapter 228: 228: Vivian's Strength

"Puhahaha, is that so? That's great to hear. Did you hear that, Dorry?"

Brogy chuckled heartily. Even though a hundred years had passed, there were still young giants growing up on the stories of their exploits.

"And what about you? Young one, what's your name?"

Dorry smiled broadly and nodded in approval. Meeting two young members of their race just as they were preparing to set sail again was a joyous occasion for the two giant warriors who had spent a century on Little Garden.

But what unsettled him a little was the fact that both of these female giants were wearing Navy uniforms—especially the one with long golden hair, who wore the "Justice" cloak of a Navy Vice Admiral.

Still, Dorry didn't immediately jump to the conclusion that giants had started joining the Navy. He was simply puzzled about why two fellow giants were dressed like that.

"Me? I'm Vivian, Vice Admiral of Navy Headquarters. If you two veterans are willing to surrender, I can get you a better cell in Impel Down!"

Vivian grinned excitedly. Both she and Gulz had grown up hearing the tales of Dorry and Brogy. But while Gulz dreamed of following in their footsteps and reviving the Giant Warrior Pirates, Vivian had a different ambition—

She wanted to surpass them, to become the new legendary hero of the giants.

And what better way to do that than by defeating the two living legends herself?

"Oh, that's a nice name... Navy?"

The smile on Brogy's face slowly froze. He looked at Vivian with a mix of confusion and disbelief.

In his mind, giants were always pirates. Since when did one of their kind become a Navy officer—let alone a Vice Admiral?!

"Vice Admiral?"

Dorry stroked his beard, suspecting Vivian might be joking. Her Justice coat was indeed what Vice Admirals wore, but… how could a giant have joined the Navy?

"And what about your weapons? Don't tell me you plan to fight me with your bare hands?"

Vivian raised a hand. The sailors on the warship immediately loaded a massive ship ballista, launching her pheasant blade into her grasp.

With a quick flourish that sent arcs of steel glinting through the air, she stabbed the blade deep into the ground and crossed her arms, speaking with a cocky air:

"Let's see if the old legends can handle the new generation."

"Gahahahaha! Brogy, she's really underestimating us!"

Dorry suddenly burst out laughing. Today's young giants were bold—too bold. Did she really think the Blue Ogre and Red Ogre were just like the cowardly pirates who wet themselves at the sight of a giant?

"Puhahaha! Go play with her a bit, Dorry. But don't hurt her!"

Brogy was laughing so hard he nearly teared up. They weren't angry—just amused. To them, Vivian was simply a young and naïve junior.

Compared to the giant pirates who hated the idea of giant marines, Dorry and Brogy—who hadn't even heard of such a thing—were far more open-minded toward Vivian.

Especially since, from their perspective, she looked like she had just come of age. Back in the day, someone her age wouldn't even qualify to join the Giant Warrior Pirates.

"Damn it, Brogy! Why do I have to be the one to play with her?"

Dorry grumbled, but he still tossed aside the giant tree trunk he was using as a weapon and strode toward Vivian with big, confident steps.

As a senior of the giant race, he felt it was his duty to show this junior just how wide the gap was between her and a true warrior.

"Lord Dorry, watch out! Vivian's super strong!"

Gurz shouted in alarm.

Gertz quickly spoke up with concern. She didn't know how powerful the legendary giant hero Dorry really was, but she did know that Vivian was practically unmatched in Elbaf.

Even the most famous warriors in Elbaf were no match for her. If not for the fact that Vivian was a girl—and had joined the Marine force that most giants disapproved of—she would've long been hailed as the new legendary hero of the giant race.

"Gahahaha! Thanks for the warning, little girl. But I'm the captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates…"

Dorry casually reached out to grab Vivian. Against a fellow giant, this should've been easy for a legend like him.

Especially after a hundred years of honing his skills through endless duels with Brogy—his techniques were sharper than ever, rivaling the heroes in the epic tales of the giants.

Against a "newly adult" female giant, this should've been a piece of cake…

'Bang!'

A solid punch sent Dorry staggering back, one of his eyes instantly turning black and blue.

"Puhahahahaha! What the hell are you doing, Dorry?!"

Brogy laughed so hard that tears streamed down his face. Seeing his old friend and rival getting humiliated—especially by a young female giant—was just too funny. He shamelessly mocked Dorry at full volume.

Like Dorry, Brogy hadn't taken Vivian seriously, and he hadn't even seen how she landed the hit.

But giants weren't exactly known for subtlety. All he needed to know was that Dorry got wrecked, and that was enough.

"You're really something, little girl! But this time, I won't hold back!"

Dorry rubbed his eye, but didn't seem too bothered. He was more focused on regaining face—if he didn't, Brogy would never let him live it down.

'Bang!'

This time, Dorry was taking things seriously—putting in at least 80% effort. But Vivian still landed a clean punch on his other eye.

Now both of Dorry's eyes were blackened, and even these legendary warriors finally realized something was seriously wrong!

"Ugh… I did tell Lord Dorry to be careful…"

Gertz covered her face, unable to bear the sight. These two legendary giants were being totally humiliated by this "she-demon" named Vivian.

She'd been hoping Dorry and Brogy could help her escape her "bitter fate." But now… that was looking less and less likely.

"Hisss… What a terrifying little brat!"

Dorry backed up a few steps, clutching his head, and looked at Vivian with shock and suspicion.

If the first hit was due to carelessness, then the second was a genuine show of overwhelming strength.

Even if he wasn't going all out, not even Brogy could've smacked him around like this so easily.

"Oi, oi, oi! Dorry, don't joke around like that! If you can't even beat a junior, how am I supposed to show my face in Elbaf?!"

Brogy decisively stepped forward to shield the wounded Dorry. Having fought side-by-side for decades and then battled each other for a hundred years, their synergy was unmatched.

"Gahahahaha, I wasn't being careless, Brogy!"

Despite sporting panda eyes, Dorry grinned widely, baring his teeth in excitement rather than frustration.

"That's why I said—come at me both of you. Don't waste my time!"

Vivienne clenched her fists with a sharp cracking sound. Not waiting for a reply, she raised her Shiranui blade and swung it down toward Brogy, who was still holding his stone axe.

Crack!

Brogy tried to block with his axe, but the Shiranui blade sliced through it effortlessly, splitting the axe in two and even leaving a visible crack in his helmet. Had he not swiftly retreated, that single strike might have taken out the legendary giant warrior.

"Don't underestimate your elders!"

Dorry had already picked up a giant tree trunk, using it as a makeshift greatsword. He swung it down toward Vivienne with immense force. Even without a blade, such a weapon in Dorry's hands could easily shatter boulders.

"Then we'll see if your strength lives up to your legend!"

Vivienne parried the blow with her Shiranui blade, then immediately followed up with a powerful kick, catching Dorry before he could change moves—sending the giant pirate flying over a hundred meters.

"What a fearsome warrior! Hey, Dorry! You alright?!"

Brogy tossed aside his now-broken axe and called out seriously.

"…I'm fine. An Elbaf warrior doesn't go down that easily!"

Dorry stood, clutching his stomach. Even though Vivienne didn't have Brogy's raw power, the force of her kick had been more than he could comfortably endure.

Giants were born with strength and physique far beyond humans. A human might train for over a decade and still be no match for an average adult giant.

However, giants also had inherent drawbacks—especially when it came to mastering Haki.

Perhaps due to their overwhelming natural strength, giants had less reliance on Haki, which in turn stunted their development of it. With sheer brawn, they could crush most humans with ease, but very few ever went beyond that level.

So even though Dorry and Brogy were legendary among their people—powerful enough to defeat even Navy Vice Admirals—they still never learned to wield Armament Haki.

Facing Vivienne, who had trained for decades under Borsalino and mastered both Observation and Armament Haki, it was only natural that they were at a disadvantage.

"Where are your real weapons? Dorry the Blue Ogre's longsword, Brogy the Red Ogre's battle axe—where are they?"

Vivienne spun her Shiranui blade again, creating a swirl of flashing steel. She shouted in irritation.

If she wanted to become a new legend by stepping on the names of these two giant heroes, she couldn't allow anyone to say she won just because of her blade—especially not Gulz, who was a die-hard Giant Warrior Pirates fangirl and would never accept a tainted victory.
