Chapter 384: Lively.
Melissa, Zachary, Javelin, and Aston arrived at the Queen's palace after the guards escorted them. They were expecting Elestria or Elysande to see them, but it appeared none of them were there. They wanted the palace and they still didn't see them, and made them wonder what they should do.
"Her Majesty and Lady Elysande are currently in the dining hall. Her Majesty said to guide all the guests there, please follow me," A servant said as soon as he saw those four entering the palace.
Without saying anything they followed the servant through the hall and went to the west side of the palace. When the servant opened the door for them into the dining hall, they were dumbfounded when they saw Mykel. They didn't see his face since they only saw his back, but his posture and his aura around him made them realize it was him.
Mykel stopped eating his food and put the knife and fork down when they were still shocked by his presence. He turned around to look at them and then smiled as he looked with his eyebrows raised. He then stood up and looked at Zachary because Zachary was no longer wearing a mask.
"Who fixed your face?" Mykel asked as he wiped how mouth with a napkin and stared at how Zachary's face looked better but at the same time not as well. "Let me fix it," he stared at the skin and the flesh on Zach's cheek that barely covered the whole and how it looked like splitting and tearing dough.
Zachary's face felt so itchy and he had to scratch it because it was unbearable. But when he touched his cheek, he realized how smooth his cheek was, and everyone was staring at him in shocked expressions.
"Good as new," Mykel chuckled.
Zachary, Melissa, Aston, and Javelin looked at Mykel and it was surreal that he was standing in front of them. They didn't know if they should feel happy to see him or be on the edge knowing Mykel's power and what he could do.
"It's nice to see you again, Mykel. Did you... defeated the eldest sister?" Zachary looked at Mykel anxiously.
"Sit down and eat first," Mykel responded as he walked back to his chair. "We have a lot of time to talk, but right now let's just enjoy the food," he continued and sat down as he put the napkin on his lap and started eating again.
Mykel was the center of attention as he made the dining hall so lively by asking about everyone's life. Zachary and Melissa got engaged not long after Melissa stepped down from her presidency since it had been five years. Aston and Javelin started dating and made lots of charities for people around the world while at the same time living the dream.
"Mykel!" A woman's voice could be heard from the door. "Mykel!" Her voice trembled in excitement and disbelief.
At first, Mykel didn't recognize who that woman was with long straight brown hair down to her lower back. She looked so dignified in her dress, the same kid that Mykel brought back from a dark alley, Jessie.
Jessie hugged Mykel so tightly and how she had all grown up, but she still acted like how she used to be. She was sobbing in front of the others and didn't care what they thought about her actions because she missed him so much.
"Jessie, I know you missed him, but have you forgotten your manners? Didn't you say you would show him all the things you have taught when he came back?" Elestria raised her eyebrows with a smile on her face.
Jessie gasped and immediately wiped her tears off as she took a few steps back. She immediately greeted him like a noblewoman, she showed how graceful she was and how she could hide her emotions in an instant.
"It's a shame that you're not allowed to sit on his lap anymore, Jessie," Melissa jokingly said and teased Jessie.
"Aunty..." Jessie frowned because she knew that already even though she wanted to sit on his lap for one last time.
Everyone laughed and the dining hall became livelier because of Jessie. They all looked so happy and Mykel realized he wasn't really needed to be there in the first place since they were doing fine. It would be best if he wasn't there and didn't come back because it would only give them another scar.
Henry was nowhere to be found, and it was because he had decided to live on his own in the Dystrovia nation. He wanted to become someone capable like Mykel, a man who influenced the whole world.
"I'm going to have a drink now," Mykel said as he stood up. "Zach, Aston, how about you accompany me? It has been years since I have a drink," he pointed out.
Zachary and Aston gulped because they would pass out if they had to drink with him. Melissa, Javelin, Elestria, and Elysande were chuckling at them and pitied them for what would happen to them. They encouraged those two from the table when those two followed Mykel from behind, leaving the dining hall.
Mykel was standing behind the counter and poured whiskey into three glasses. The amount was normal in each glass and then he gave two of the glasses to Zachary and Aston. They both were glad it started with a small amount so they could prepare for the worst for later.
"You haven't answered my question earlier," Zachary emptied the glass.
"No, I have not," Mykel poured another whiskey into Zachary's glass. "I asked for a time out and she granted my request," he added.
Zachary and Aston were dumbfounded that Mykel hadn't killed Luciel even though five years had passed. They had so many questions in mind, but they didn't know where to start.
"The reason why it took me five years for me to come back here is because I helped her kill the Gods, or the remaining Erves," Mykel said and then drank his whiskey.
Both Zachary and Aston's minds went blank by that information and didn't know what to react to. They both stared at Mykel without blinking their eyes while Mykel refilled his glass fully.
"You were there when I spoke to Melissa about what was my goal from doing all this. Do you still remember what my answer was?" Mykel looked at Zachary.
"I do, and we both talked about it oftentimes. You wanted to make a world where everyone can stand equally. A world where everyone had the same chance and opportunity without being limited by anyone or anything," Zachary answered as he looked at his own reflection in the glass of whiskey.
"And to achieve that, we need to get rid of the restriction first, and that's the beings that control your life," Mykel responded as he nodded his head. "Now that there's only one being left, I haven't reached my goal yet. I still have to kill her," he continued.
"Can you do it?" Aston asked after he took a shot.
"It's not impossible," Mykel poured a whiskey into Aston's glass. "But I don't want them to know about this. So keep it to yourself about this whole conversation," he looked at both of them.
Zachary and Aston nodded their heads with understanding and kept their mouths sealed.
"So how long are you going to stay here? Are you going to leave tomorrow without them knowing?" Zachary asked. Discover hidden stories at My Virtual Library Empire
"I asked for a week, so I'll use the time I have left to be with them. It might not be enough, but I'll see what I can do knowing the complicated situation in here about Her Highness and Jessie," Mykel answered as he grabbed a bottle of vodka. "If I can resolve the problem before I leave, that would be great," he continued.
"Are you not planning to come back after it's over?" Aston looked at Mykel with his eyebrows furrowed and swirled the glass in his hand.
Mykel raised his eyebrows and drank a whole bottle like he was drinking water. He then grabbed another bottle and put it on the table to share it with them. He poured the glasses like there was no tomorrow, making those two gulp nervously.
"My existence in this world would unbalance the goal I want to achieve in this world. It's better if I just disappear and none of you will remember that I existed," Mykel explained.
At that moment Zachary and Aston realized that it was possible for Mykel to make them forget about him. That wouldn't affect them, but the fact they would forget about him and everything that he did for this world, was unfair to him. They wished him to not do that, but at the same time, they couldn't find a way to convince him since he had lost everything and he had nothing to lose anymore.
"If you have all those unbelievable powers, can't you just bring your family back to life?" Aston asked since he heard about Mykel's past and his family.
"Who said that my family is dead?" Mykel asked back as he looked at the counter, backing those two away. "If they died, I could easily bring them back to life, but it's more complicated than that. They're out of my grasp," he explained.
"So is this the reason why you're doing all this? For a revenge?" Zachary asked.
"With the power I have," Mykel paused to grab a fancy bottle of Gin. "Do you think those beings can take my family away?" He asked back.
"So it's not revenge, then that means it wasn't them who took your family," Aston looked at Mykel with curiosity.
"Something like that," Mykel nodded his head. "You won't understand, so let's just enjoy the drink. We will empty this whole bar," he pointed out.
