Chapter 39: Sparring With Elaine Part 1
"The situation isn't that bad, but the atmosphere is getting depressing. I hope it doesn't affect you, Junior Brother."
Saying so, the guard let Ken enter the sect.
Upon entering the sect, Ken went straight to Elaine's house.
Not because he needed to go there, but simply because he wanted to be there.
Knock! Knock!
As he knocked on the door a few times, the door slowly opened, revealing Elaine inside.
At first, she didn't look excited, but when she saw it was Ken, she jumped on top of him while they were outside.
"Ken, I missed you. Where were you? Do you know I worried I was? So many things have been happening in the sect."
Since they were still outside, Ken felt a bit embarrassed and hurriedly rushed inside before closing the doors.
"Haa! You are still so shy."
Elaine chuckled when she saw his face turn red. She didn't get down from his body; instead kept her arms wrapped around his neck.
"So, did you get what you were looking for?" She asked.
"Well, I guess I did. It's all messed up. But I did manage to improve my strength significantly."
Ken didn't feel like hiding many things from his girlfriend. But at the same time, there were many things that he didn't want to explain to her.
Such as his system, his encounters, and even some of his thoughts.
A man needed his space!
"Well, it's good enough for me." Elaine didn't mind him hiding special things.
When she talked with him, she knew he wasn't a normal person. Now that his mother had returned, it was clear that he came from a strong background.
So, she simply nodded her head and said.
"I also improved my strength. With those pills, I have managed to temper my body. I didn't cultivate my realm, so it's still stuck in the ten percent of Muscle Tempering Stage."
"But I should have the strength of the completed Muscle Tempering Stage thanks to my body training."
"Previously, I had already achieved the second stage of comprehending Fire Element."
"Now, after completing the first stage of the Fire Spirit Body Forging Technique, I have comprehended the Fire Element. Look!"
She excitedly raised her hand, and a yellow flame appeared on her palm. It kept spinning on her palm until it took the shape of a disk.
"Now, I can do this with my fire."
She threw the disk towards a rope with no connection. The fire disk managed to cut the rope and spun back into her hand.
More importantly, even though it was fire, it didn't burn the rope.
"Wow! That's cool. It seems like you have even managed to create your own martial art."
Ken was genuinely surprised by her move.
Cutting something with fire without burning it was one of the hardest moves at the early stages of the Fire Element.
But Elaine was able to do it in such a short time. This was truly amazing.
"It's all thanks to you."
Elaine dispersed the ring from her hand and immediately kissed him on the mouth, savoring his lips.
Ken welcomed her effort. His lips seemingly merged with hers as they kept making a wet sound while kissing each other.
Both were quite thirsty for the kiss.
But eventually, they stopped.
"What? Just this?" Ken couldn't help but feel disappointed. He was ready to do more but Elaine suddenly left his embrace which confused him.
"Of course not! I need your help in training. Then, we can continue during the night."
Elaine winked at him and pulled him outside the house.
Ken helplessly followed her until they went inside the Training Hall.
This hall was created specifically for training.
Since training outside could reveal their strength to others, especially before the Annual Competition, many people had joined this hall.
It was packed. Fortunately, Elaine had booked a room.
They went directly to their booked room. Along the way, Ken was a bit stressed.
"What's wrong?" Elaine looked at Ken and asked.
"I thought someone would come and stop us with a condescending tone, creating a conflict with us."
Ken replied with a helpless tone.
Elaine stared at him as if he were some kind of alien and said.
"You haven't pissed off anyone, have you?"
"No, of course not!" Ken hurriedly replied.
"Then, why would they do something like that? Yeah, strong people look down on weak people. Rich people look down on the poor."
"But, they don't go out of their way to create conflict with the others. What are they? Bunch of idiots?"
Elaine replied with a speechless tone.
Ken realized that the memories from Grant were messing with him. He chuckled as he rubbed his head and said.
"Yeah, you are right. That would be pretty idiotic."
'More importantly, Golden Dragon Sect rarely has disciples like that.'
He was thinking about those people who enjoyed seeing others suffer. Although there were some bad people in the sect, the majority were still good.
That's why he remained the Sect Leader for so long.
Despite his background, despite his talent, he never reached a point where he would be forced to hate his sect.
There were some points where he did have conflicts with other people. But the Law Enforcers would always side with the truth.
This always saved him despite his background.
He wasn't an idiot. After reaching the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm, he could leave the kingdom and search for opportunities.
His luck wasn't huge, but it should've been enough to grant him several opportunities.
Even Makim, Lee, and Patrick, with their Green Luck, encountered those opportunities, so he definitely had a chance.
Although it was extremely slim, it was still a chance.
But he chose to stay in the sect. Simply because he had a duty. It was to help his sect grow.
That's why, despite overwhelming odds, he didn't hesitate to fight the Heavenly Puppet Sect for the disciples of his sect.
"Anyway, let's start! I need some serious training."
Elaine stood in front of Ken and spoke with a serious expression.
Ken took a fighting stance as he watched her.
She was getting ready. Her body was relaxing a bit while flaring her Qi. The moment she released Qi into her legs and arms, she dashed forward.
Just when she appeared in front of him, she left behind an afterimage and reappeared behind him.
She punched straight towards his head, but just when her fist reached the back of his head, Ken ducked and caught her arm with his palms.
Then, he lifted her and threw her towards the wall.
Bang!
Elaine slammed against the wall, feeling a strong pain in her back as she fell to her knees.
Although painful, she still raised her head, gritting her teeth as she asked.
"You are not showing any mercy, are you?"
"Nope!"
Ken chuckled as he signaled her with his fingers.
"Damn you!"
Elaine roared, and her Qi burned. The yellow flame emerged from her fist as she threw a punch from tens of meters away.
[Fire Punch]
But just when she thought he was going to retaliate with something, she heard a voice behind her.
"Fire Punch is a powerful martial art, but when used against a faster opponent, it is pretty useless."
Bang!
Ken punched straight to her back, sending her flying once more.
Thud!
She fell to the ground and coughed out some blood.
"Urg!"
She grunted as she tried to bear the pain. It was intense. Her spine was shaken for a moment.
"That hurts, you bastard!"
"You are the one who said you wanted some training." Ken chuckled as he spoke.
"Come on! Show me something new!"
Elaine's eyes were filled with rage as she stood up on her legs and shouted.
"You want something new. Here, have some of this!"
A powerful purple blazing flame emerged from her body and slowly turned into a disk.
Unlike her previous move, this disk was ten times bigger. Not only that, she was making two more of these disks next to it.
[Three Trigrams Rotation]
She shot out three rings towards him. These rings moved at an extraordinary speed, almost catching him off guard.
"Okay, I will admit. This is cool. But, not enough!"
At the last moment, Ken nodded his head as he praised her move. Instead of moving away, he suddenly reached into the hilt of his sword.
When he did that, Elaine didn't even notice him until he unsheathed the sword at lightning-fast speed.
Boom!
Creating a sonic boom with his sword drawing, he whipped his swords towards three rings.
[Quick Sword Art- One Draw, Three Cuts]
As he moved his wrist two more times, his sword changed direction and kept cutting the disk with insane precision.
Boom!
But what happened next was even more amazing. The moment he cut those rings in half, they exploded.
The purple flames instantly engulfed Ken.
"Oh no!"
Seeing this, Elaine turned pale for a moment.
