Destiny: Chosen For Battle

Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Kelvin's POV

Immediately, I saw the dead horse, I could tell it was something big. I walked down into the big dark room. I didn't know it had a room as big as this.

If I were a normal human, I wouldn't have seen where I was going at night. But as a werewolf, I could see every step I took. It wasn't yet night though—it was just 11:00 a.m. in the morning—but the darkness filled the big room, or more like a big hall.

I walked slowly, observing every move I made. The scent filling my nostrils smelled like a dead human. I ignored the smell and continued moving. I reached a certain point and decided to turn back to find the others. I knew that this wasn't a way we could follow to get us out of here.

Turning back and trying to find my way out, it felt like the whole room had changed completely—more like a dead end.

"Fuck," I said.

"How will I get the hell out of here?" I muttered to no one.

I stepped on something, bent down, and saw a little wooden door on the ground. I touched it and felt movement below.

I opened the little door gently, careful not to make any sound, and found steps leading deeper underground. I smiled, hoping it would lead us out of here, but I needed to check if it was safe. I drew a signature, writing my name on it in case the others came looking for me.

I opened the underground door wider and kept going down, holding onto the rails of the stairs that led me deeper into the unknown.

I reached a certain point where I was no longer on the stairs, and at that moment, I was too shocked to move. I stood like I was paralyzed at the sight before me and gagged, both from the sight and the smell.

Trying to grasp what was happening, more than a hundred people were lying dead on the ground.

Their necks all had bites on them, which reminded me of those horses—they were also bitten on the neck.

"What's this all about?" I asked, already terrified.

I needed to calm my nerves before proceeding. I could feel something... It was like those dead humans were alive. I took a deep breath and stepped forward, dodging the bodies.

I walked past the lifeless bodies, but a part of me told me to check one of them. I bent down and looked at a young boy. If I wasn't mistaken, he would be about twenty-one years old or more.

But there was something weird and strange about this dead person. If I listened closely, I could hear his heartbeat.

I moved to another body, and it was the same. They were alive and dead at the same time.

I felt movement coming toward my direction, so I hid from whatever was coming—good or bad.

I saw a beautiful girl running. She had a deep cut on her left hand. Her legs were also bleeding, and she couldn't run well. Right behind her, a big ugly-looking beast with four eyes on its head chased her.

It opened its mouth, revealing long tentacles with a large thorn at the edge.

It was about to sting her with one when, sword raised, I ran toward the beast and pushed the girl out of the way. I cut off one of the tentacles that was about to sting her.

"Run!!" I yelled at the girl, and she wasted no time.

I swung my sword, cutting down the beast's right hand, but its hand multiplied immediately after I cut it off.

"Run!!" I heard the girl yell from a distance.

"There is no use in killing it because it can't be killed," she added.

I wasted no time running as fast as I could. I grabbed the girl's hand, and we ran together until we got to the stairs. Quickly, we climbed the stairs, leading us out of the death hole. I opened the door, and just as the beast was about to get out, I locked it. Panting heavily, I turned to the girl.

"Thanks," she said, breathing heavily next to me. I nodded.

"I found him!" I heard Destiny's voice say.

She ran to me in tears, checking if I was fine. "Oh my God, you have a cut on your head," she said with concern.

The others came rushing toward me.

"Who is she?" Gold asked, looking at the girl with suspicion.

Ignoring his question, I told the others what I saw, but none of them looked surprised.

"We know—that's why we have to find a way out of here," Lex said.

"Sara told me about it," Gold replied.

"Let's get out of here," I said, holding the strange girl's hand.

We went back to the room. We were all stressed, thinking of a way out because the beast down there wasn't something that would be easy to kill.

"What's your name?" Camila asked the new girl.

"Sofie," she said in a gentle voice.

"Guys, I know how to get us out of here," Gold said, rushing out from the basement.

"How?" June quickly jumped up and asked.

"Are you with the bone?" he said.

I was confused about what he was going on about.

"Yeah," she replied.

"We have to kill the beast with it," Gold smirked like it was obvious.

"We need to pass through the beast's lair. There is a way there," he added.

"So that explains the dead people. They were trying to escape, but the beast killed them," I said, standing up from the couch.

"I don't know how to say this, but I think those dead people aren't actually dead," I added.

"What do you mean?" Lex asked.

"I don't know. Maybe I'm just imagining things," I replied.

"So, when do you think we should kill it?" Nixton asked.

"This night," Gold replied, and Nix groaned. Nixton was a very lazy fighter; I still wondered how he got in.

"What about me?" Sofie asked, looking so scared.

"You will come with us," I replied, and she smiled.

I saw the way Gold stared at her. Sofie was a beautiful girl, and I couldn't blame him for staring. She had beautiful black hair reaching the middle of her back, brown eyes, and full red lips.

She was perfect, I thought, admiring her beauty.
