NOVEL NEXT Chapter 6: Search for the Cure
Demon Girl lies unconscious, her condition worsening by the second. Doctor Ni examines her with a worried expression. "Her body's barely holding on. There's only one way to save her."
The Demon King and Queen look at each other, tense. "How?" they demand.
Ni explains, "We need three rare ingredients to create a powerful antidote—a blue drink. The first is Blue Dragon Blood, the second is Water from the Earth Ocean, and the third is a Tear of the Healing Queen."
Kiki speaks up, "Where is this Healing Queen?"
The Demon King's face hardens as he glares at Kiki. "Haven't you done enough already?" The Queen's gaze is equally piercing, filled with disappointment, yet they both know they're running out of time.
Doctor Ni continues, "The Healing Queen lives on Planet B2 in the Hell System. You have five hours at most… but in reality, maybe only one."
The Demon King takes charge. "I'll hunt the dragon." He opens three portals, each leading to a different destination. "I'll go after the Blue Dragon. Queen, take the Earth Ocean. Kiki… go to Planet B2."
Kiki's Mission
Kiki steps through his portal and lands clumsily in the midst of the Queen's palace on Planet B2. Guards surround him, their laughter echoing as they see him stumble and fall onto a fiery surface. Frustrated, Kiki narrows his eyes and stops time in their minds, silencing them as he takes each guard down one by one.
The Healing Queen watches, intrigued, and orders her strongest guard to detain him. Kiki barely has a chance to react before he's bound and thrown into a prison cell. "If you want my tear, you'll have to prove your strength," she tells him through the bars. Kiki agrees to the challenge.
They face off in a battle arena, Kiki against one of the Queen's elite warriors. The guard charges, but Kiki, feeling weaker than ever, stops time in his opponent's heart, landing a blow that finally brings him victory. Impressed, the Healing Queen grants him her tear, fulfilling her promise.
The Demon King's Battle
The Demon King faces the Blue Dragon, managing to wound it, only for a second dragon to swoop down in a furious attack. Fire and light blast around him, and he struggles to keep up. But time is slipping away, and the thought of Demon Girl's fading life fills him with desperation. With one last effort, he unleashes the Dead Zone, a wave of death that obliterates all the dragons, along with the surrounding planets in the solar system. Weakened and nearing death himself, he staggers back through the portal with the dragon's blood.
The Demon Queen's Struggle
The Demon Queen dives deep into the Earth Ocean, just as human forces bombard the waters around her with bombs. She fights her way past them, eventually facing off against a group of super soldiers. She overpowers them with her death fire, claiming the precious water. Not wanting to waste a second, she blasts her way back through the portal, racing to return.
The Cure and Farewell
At Doctor Ni's place, the three ingredients are finally combined. Ni feeds the blue drink to Demon Girl, and slowly, color returns to her cheeks. She opens her eyes, smiling weakly as she sees her father, mother, and Kiki by her side.
The Demon King, however, is weakened beyond repair from the Dead Zone. He looks at his daughter lovingly. "Demon Girl… never do anything like this again." With those final words, he closes his eyes, the toll of his sacrifice finally claiming him.
