Demon Legacy

Chapter 30: Time Goddess

In the fiery depths of hell, Scarlett confronted Re, her voice trembling with barely contained fury. "Re, where is my sister?"

Re smirked, crossing his arms. "Sense her out, if you're so concerned."

Scarlett closed her eyes, reaching out with her demonic energy. Her connection to Demon Girl's essence flared to life, but what she felt was faint—fragile, like a dwindling ember struggling against the dark. A wave of despair crashed over her, quickly replaced by burning rage.

Her eyes snapped open, glowing with raw power. "What did you do to her?" she demanded.

Re's smirk widened, his tone cold and mocking. "I killed her," he said nonchalantly.

Scarlett's hands clenched into fists, her entire body trembling with wrath. "Don't joke with me," she growled, her voice deep and menacing. "I'll kill you."

Re laughed, a deep, booming sound that echoed through the infernal plane. "So try," he taunted.

Scarlett hit her breaking point. Her body surged with dark energy, shadows twisting and writhing around her form. Her eyes turned a ghostly white, glowing with an otherworldly light. Her once calm demeanor shattered as her full power awakened. Inscribed in fiery letters on her back appeared the words Time Goddess.

Re's confident expression faltered as he took a step back, his smirk replaced by genuine curiosity—and a flicker of fear. "What… are you?" he asked, his voice quieter now.

Scarlett stared him down, her voice echoing with divine authority. "Your judgment," she said, her tone chilling. "Your goddess."

Hell itself seemed to tremble as her energy surged. Re braced himself, but even he wasn't prepared for the overwhelming might of Scarlett's transformation. Shadows and light intertwined, creating a vortex of demonic energy that swallowed everything around them. Scarlett raised her hand, and the air crackled with power as she prepared to strike.

Re dodged and counterattacked, summoning a torrent of crimson flames to engulf Scarlett. She tore through it with ease, her form radiating a divine glow. Every strike she unleashed carried the weight of her rage and power, forcing Re to fall back repeatedly.

"You can't kill me, Scarlett," Re said, regaining his smirk. "I'm eternal. Your little tantrum is meaningless."

Scarlett stopped her assault, her eyes narrowing as an idea formed. "Eternal?" she said, her voice cutting like a blade. "Evil like you doesn't belong here—or anywhere."

She raised her hands, her demonic energy flaring once more. The air around her shimmered as she began tearing at the fabric of reality itself. Re's smirk faded into confusion, then alarm, as a massive rift opened behind him.

"What are you doing?" Re demanded, his voice rising in panic.

Scarlett's eyes burned brighter, her tone resolute. "You're right, Re. I can't kill you. But I can send you somewhere you'll never return from."

The rift pulsed with an eerie light, and Scarlett's voice grew louder, echoing through the realm. "This is the true hell—a prison forged by the old king for demons like you. A place of endless torment. You'll never escape."

Re lunged at her, but Scarlett moved faster, ripping space and time apart with a violent gesture. She thrust him backward with a surge of demonic energy, sending him hurtling into the rift.

"You were like a father to me," Scarlett said, her voice softer now, tinged with sadness. "But you chose this path. Goodbye, Re."

The rift sealed itself with a thunderous roar, leaving Scarlett standing alone in the silence. Her body trembled as her power receded, her glowing eyes dimming back to normal.

Meanwhile, far away on a mysterious blue planet, Demon Girl lay unconscious. She had fallen through a portal after her intense battle with Re, colliding with countless planets along the way. Each impact weakened her, draining her strength and demonic energy until she could barely hold on. By the time she landed, the planet's immense gravity forced her body to adapt, shrinking her form until she resembled a small child, no older than ten. Her memories were scattered, fragments of her past slipping through her fingers like sand.

A small family discovered her lying amidst the ruins of a crater. They approached cautiously, the glow of her fading demonic energy still lingering faintly around her. The family, kind and gentle, took her in, unaware of the immense power hidden within the seemingly fragile girl.

Back in hell, Scarlett stood amidst the ruins of their battlefield. Her mind raced with thoughts of Demon Girl.

"Hold on, sister," she whispered, determination burning in her eyes. "I'll find you."
