Demon Hunter and His Cabin

Chapter 796: Void Worm

The icy ground pressed against his cheek, and Fernando slowly opened his eyes. He knew he was still alive, but at this moment, he knew he was not far from death.

The faint connection behind him had been severed. His own power was beginning to return, but when he lifted his head and saw the figure standing not far away, his heart was filled with desolation.

"Who are you?!"

Countless days and nights, Fernando traversed through various Transcendent Worlds, searching for traces of the Shadow's Power.

He had devoted all his energy to this endeavor, but now, just at the moment of his impending success...

His entire body trembling, he watched helplessly as the earth stopped shaking, and everything around returned to normal.

"My power... my..."

"What an unexpected gain." Roger chuckled lightly. At his current level, ordinary power had completely lost its appeal to him.

The Shadow's Power seized from Fernando was extraordinarily abundant.

Its total amount far exceeded Roger's expectations.

The darkness receded, and the surrounding light returned to its previous state.

Crackling sounds echoed as everyone's figures fell from the sky. But at this time, no one bothered to check their injuries. They even maintained a prone posture, bewilderedly gazing around.

"Did you see that, Leon?" Igor sighed.

"I'm not blind." Leon replied bluntly.

"But maybe we've all gone mad..." Igor tremulously extended three fingers. Before he could speak, Leon had already understood the question Igor was about to ask.

"Get lost, I'm not so muddleheaded that I can't even count numbers."

"Then everything we saw just now was real?" Igor was still a bit unsure.

Meanwhile, the unharmed Tersko was urgently questioning Sonia.

"You knew, you knew all along!"

"Knew what?"

"Tell me honestly, who is he? In a low-energy world like ours, it's simply impossible to produce such powerful beings."

Tersko's face flushed red, his emotions highly agitated.

"To be honest, I'm even more surprised than you are." Sonia also looked bewildered. After all, the last time they parted, Roger's displayed power was indeed strong, but compared to now, it was worlds apart.

"You did it on purpose, didn't you?"

"You're all laughing at me, damn it, I was so stupid to think you'd be at a disadvantage just now!"

"My God, I should have stayed out of it. Haha, if you had clashed earlier, none of this would have happened now. Abuyi might have been killed by Roger with a single slap."

Tersko wore a resentful expression.

"Earlier?" Sonia sneered.

"If I'd told you everything just now, would you have believed it?"

"If I tell you now, I'm a Ring Bearer as powerful as Roger, would you believe it?" Sonia said irritably.

But upon hearing her words, Tersko merely blinked and, a moment later, nodded heavily.

"I believe!"

Sonia:...

In contrast to their levity, Alicia and Koyatel and others were much more tense.

However, Roger wasn't in the mood to pay them any mind; he only looked at Fernando lying on the ground.

"How afraid of death are you?" Roger was somewhat speechless.

This guy didn't know how many life-preserving techniques he had hidden. Just now, when Roger believed he could thoroughly kill him.

"It's really troublesome. Should I imprison you? Then find someone to line up and kill you once a day?"

Roger stroked his chin in serious contemplation. Upon hearing his words, Fernando's expression changed drastically.

"Wait, don't kill me just yet!"

He struggled to get up from the ground, "There was originally no conflict between us. If you're willing to spare me, I'll tell you where this near-immortal life comes from."

"Besides, don't you want to know about some of the things that happened in this world in the previous era?"

"I'm the only one who knows the most. If I die, all of this will disappear completely, and you'll never know the secrets of this world."

"Are you really that afraid of death?"

Roger found it hard to imagine that the terrifying powerhouse, who earlier seemed to control the entire world, was now lowering himself to converse with him in a near-begging tone.

"You don't understand, the longer one lives, the more they fear death; no one wants to die."

Fernando appeared remarkably candid.

"Besides, I'm not some genius, to have come this far is simply because I've lived long enough."

"I'll tell you everything, let me go, and I'll leave this world forever..." He paused, his gaze drifting to a certain figure.

"If possible, let me take her with me."

Being singled out by Fernando, Alicia's face turned deathly pale.

Roger frowned, saying nothing, but Fernando quickly realized something and immediately said, "If not, then forget it."

"Sounds pretty good." Roger smiled.

"But you currently have no grounds to negotiate with me."

Roger stepped forward and reached out to pat Fernando's shoulder.

But this simple action caused Fernando's expression to change dramatically. Before Roger could get close, he retreated while screaming.

Seeing his reaction, Roger paused in surprise, halting his motion abruptly. "Anyone who doesn't know might really think I did something to you."

Roger knew there was no power in his hand; it was just a subconscious action.

Fernando fell to the ground, his face turning particularly ugly.

Shaking his head helplessly, Roger looked disappointed. Perhaps long, long ago, he too was once full of fighting spirit, but the long years had worn away all his edges and vigor.
