Chapter 787: The Lord of the Mist's Legs
Late at night, the whole of Kaer Morhen was still brightly lit.
Whether they were ordinary Demon Hunter apprentices or the High Tier transcendents in the banquet hall, everyone enjoyed a rare moment of relaxation.
It was a very strange feeling; if Roger weren't here, even if everyone would return, there wouldn't be so many people present.
Sometimes, even if Roger didn't say anything and just quietly stayed there, everyone felt inexplicably at ease.
As if he were the soul of the entire castle.
But for Roger, a castle was just a structure, and it was only complete with people filling it.
"How did you do it?"
Amanda approached Roger alone.
"It's a long story. After sending you away from that world, I was pulled into the void, and then a series of events happened..."
"That's not what I meant," Amanda said, her hands twisting together.
"I mean that child..."
"Child?" Roger looked innocent, "I don't know either?"
He genuinely couldn't figure it out.
"Dora's the one pregnant. It must have been during the time I was inhabiting her body. But which part led to the child's conception?" Amanda was puzzled.
"We have to try it!"
"Try it?!?" Roger's eyes widened.
"Now?"
"What else?" Amanda snorted coldly.
"No, no, there are so many people..."
Amanda released Roger and looked at him with a smile.
"You don't think this is just my idea, do you?"
Upon hearing this, even Roger shivered.
"Wait, I just thought of something important!" He didn't wait for Amanda's response; he soared into the sky and disappeared into the night.
Joking aside, some things are romantic when done willingly, but unsettling if taken by force and watched by others.
Tsk tsk, something's not quite right.
"You better come back in ten years..."
In the night breeze, Amanda's voice traveled far.
Roger hadn't gone far, doing a quick turn before settling down on the other side.
But he hadn't settled for long when two figures landed beside him in the darkness.
Seeing who it was, Roger smiled wryly.
"Today's already chaotic enough; let's meet another day, okay?"
Sonia chuckled.
"Don't worry; I'm here for something else this time."
"Oh." Roger's expression turned serious immediately.
"You just traveled across worlds, and you must be exhausted. I'm just notifying you in advance; in a while, I'll take you to meet a few others who've also reached the Fifth Tier of transcendence."
"It's said that one of them has already completed the quint-element construct and is about to become a Ring Bearer!" Sonia looked reverent.
"With the support of Hillrenes and me, the Demon Hunter organization can stand firm in the Transcendent World, but Hillrenes' strength is slightly weak and can't exert intimidation."
"With your addition, things should improve significantly."
"Is it a routine meeting?" Roger was also curious.
Sonia nodded.
"Periodically, top-tier transcendents organize such secret meetings. This time, it mainly involves transcendents from the Western World."
"Like you, I've only met one or two during this period, so this meeting will be when we represent the Demon Hunter organization and formally step onto the top stage of the Transcendent World."
"This is very important for us."
"No problem." Roger nodded, "Just let me know anytime. I shouldn't be leaving here again."
"Great."
Sonia was delighted, "By the way, I must remind you, your power is now too destructive to ordinary people. If unnecessary, try to avoid densely populated areas."
"Sometimes a slight emotional fluctuation can cause a ripple in your power, which can be devastating to ordinary people."
"Alright."
Though confident in his control and the Hunter's Cabin, Roger knew being cautious couldn't hurt.
"That's all; rest well. See you next time."
With that, Sonia took to the air, and Hillrenes transformed into a giant dragon, their figures disappearing over the horizon.
Watching Sonia leave, Roger meditated for a moment and then vanished from Kaer Morhen with a thought.
Thick mist enveloped the empty street.
Roger sat in a chair, observing the outside world through the window in front of him.
Here was the Mist Hut, and he pushed open the door and stepped onto the street.
Sounds of rustling came from within the mist, as if some unknown creatures were crawling and watching.
"Not bad luck." he muttered to himself.
He quietly waited for a while until heavy footsteps approached.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Two sturdy legs tore through the mist, stepping onto the street, and Roger looked up, his gaze effortlessly penetrating the surrounding barriers.
Like last time, he only saw a pair of walking legs, while the rest of the body was nowhere to be found.
"This is a confinement, meant to imprison him."
Roger's expression changed slightly.
Previously, with his weak power, his perception couldn't reach the level it is now, and he only regarded this as a low-tier world.
Equivalent to a fragment of some world.
But after reading the Dragon Canon of the Silver Dragon Clan, Roger gained deeper insights into this plane and the mysterious Lord of the Mist.
According to the Dragon Canon, the rise of the Lord of the Mist was incredibly rapid, with the black sun banner almost covering the entire plane.
