Chapter 759: Meeting again
While Ren was gathering allies for the final fight, Tsukiyomi who had followed after Ren once their children had grown big enough to take care of themselves. She unlike Ren was already powerful enough to reach the higher realms from the very beginning.
So it wasn't that hard for her to go to the upper realms to go and look for Ren, unfortunately, the upper realms were basically the size of many of the universes gathered together. It was basically the place where most of the Gods fled to during the war with the original incarnation.
It used to be a place that no mortal being except for the Strongest Mortal Soul could enter. It was a place filled with powerful Gods and Dragons, but nowadays there were many so-called mortals living in the upper realms. It was not because all of them were powerful enough, but because the truly powerful lived in the upper realms and gave birth in the upper realms.
So the so-called mortals were two kinds in the upper realm, the ones who came here using their own power and those who were simply born there.
...
Tsukiyomi had arrived a few years ago in the upper realms but she was unable to locate Ren. She even used her soul link but that failed as well, it was like someone was blocking her signal of him.
'Either Ren is hiding from some powerful enemy or he is in a place where I cannot sense the soul link or someone beside him is deliberately blocking my link to him.
The first idea is absurd, Ren would never hide from anyone or anything, the second option is also unlikely, the only place in the numerous universes that can block the soul link is in the place where the ORIGIN resides, so that means it can only be the last option. Some unknown harlot must've stuck to Ren again.'
Tsukiyomi was burning in rage as she thought about some random woman sticking to Ren while even blocking her from finding him.
'If I just keep on searching for him from one place to another I won't be able to find him. I even went to the places that were considered the most dangerous, but he wasn't there. I guess the only option left is to open up the connection between Ren and me forcefully. I don't know what kind of b*tch is trying to block me, but let's see if she can do it if I go all out.'
Tsukiyomi gathered all her power that was distorting the space and time around her, and a bright red moon appeared behind her.
'It has been a long time since I've gone all out let's see if you can handle this.'
Tsukiyomi who was forcefully opening the link between her and Ren again felt that whoever was blocking her was near her level.
'There are only a few beings who aren't an incarnation of the Strongest Mortal Soul that can be this strong, this should either be a powerful Old God, an Ancient One, or a dragon. If it's a companion that I already know of and has a good understanding of my contract with Ren then it can only be that f*cking lizard.'
Tsukiyomi was now pretty sure who was blocking her. The other person who met the same incarnation of the Strongest Mortal Soul, Edge Regius, a person who was equally as powerful as she. It could only be The black dragon Tanith.
Now that she knew who her opponent was Tsukiyomi changed from forcefully recreating the soul link to bypassing the spell that was messing with her link. Seeing as they knew each other's tricks it took some time to get past Tanith's spell.
Tsukiyomi finally got the soul link working again and she quickly found Ren's location. Tsukiyomi moved quickly and teleported to that area.
...
Tanith interrupted Tsukiyomi's teleportation spells and made her teleport to a different area where Tanith was waiting in her human form. Tsukiyomi who appeared in front of Tanith was frowning.
"It's been a long time lizard."
"Yes, it has, and oh look you now have a little bump on your chest."
"Better than those grotesque-looking balloons you call a chest."
"Hmph, so what did you come here for?"
"Of course, I came here for Ren, where is he?"
"Ren who is that?"
"Don't act dumb as someone who has a contract like mine you should know full well who I'm talking about also I know he's somewhere near."
The two glared at each other for a while, and then they started smiling which then evolved into laughter.
"Hahahaha."
"Hahahaha."
The laughter of the two was melodious and filled with different kinds of emotions that span millennia. The memories they shared, the regrets, the joy, everything came flooding back.
"It's nice to see you again, Tsukiyomi."
"You as well, Tanith."
"It's rather surprising that an Ethereal like you was able to survive without a master supplying you mana for so long."
"You know me, I'm a tenacious one. What's surprising to me is that the Ancient Ones haven't been able to kill you yet. To be able to survive with your huge body for so long is truly a miracle."
"Well, what can I say I'm one lucky dragon."
"Heh, I guess you are a lucky one."
"Not as lucky as you it seems. With the fluctuations of your spiritual energy, I can tell that you have given birth. Of course, there's only one person you would allow to have children with."
"If you want you can ask for it as well. This current incarnation does not shy away from such things."
"Neither did the other incarnations we've met it's just we didn't have time."
"We do have time now don't we?"
"... We no longer do."
"... What do you mean?"
Tanith then told Tsukiyomi everything that happened between her and Ren. After listening to Tanith's entire story Tsukiyomi sighed.
"So the final battle is coming, and it will not be the same as before..."
"Yeah, this time either we win everything or we lose everything."
"It turns out I'm the lucky one," Tsukiyomi mumbled to herself.
