Demon Lord's Reincarnation

The ORIGIN might look and sound like he had affection for humanity but it was the kind of affection that a human might find difficult to understand. Erste frowned when he heard the ORIGIN's answer, even though he already expected that he would be rejected he did not expect that kind of answer.

"So you're saying that it's alright for them to die?"

"I'm confused why are you asking that question?... Oh, I see I think you're mistaken. The humans that physically die do not experience true death. As long as your soul is intact, death is nothing but a phase, just a minor inconvenience. Their consciousness and souls still exist and the physical body is easily recreated."

"You're telling me it's alright for them to die because you can just remake them? Is that the so-called reset that I have been hearing about?"

"Oh, you have heard about the reset. Well in a way that also proves my point."

"It seems like we won't be able to see eye to eye."

The very second Erste said those words there was visible change in the expression of the ORIGIN's avatar.

"What do you mean? Why are you so worried about something like death when you already surpassed it? Also if you compare what the Old Gods and New Gods have done to humans, what you did was much worse.

At least when a human dies his soul could be recycled his body restored, but the way you humans kill the Old and New Gods while stealing their authority and mana, there's no way to restore them to what they used to be."

"Unlike them, we did it because of self-defense."

"That is true for you in the beginning, but it's already different for you now."

"..."

Erste initially wanted to deny what the ORIGIN said but then he thought about it a little and found out that it was true. Unlike the others who truly fought in self-defense, he, on the other hand, was simply killing for the sake of slaughter. With his current strength, it was easy to save the humans being harmed without needing to kill.

Erste could still reason out that even though it was no longer self-defense he was just giving the Gods what they deserved, but then he remembered that the Gods were also thinking the same thing about them. No matter what kind of excuse Erste could think of, there was always a counter to it.

It was at this moment Erste came to a realization that both sides were dealing with what they thought was a threat to them. Even though they were obviously in the wrong, Erste could still somehow understand why the so called Gods were doing those things to humans. In their eyes killing humans was not a real death which means as long as they could restart everything they weren't truly killing humans.

"I guess you are right... It was just a different way of looking at things."

"As expected of the child I favor the most, are you finally able to see beyond your human sensibilities?"

"..."

Erste once again attacked by punching forward aiming at the avatar's face but before his fist could reach something blocked it. Erste's fist was able to make a dimensional crack but was unable to break through the barrier surrounding the ORIGIN's avatar.

"You truly are a hot-headed, naughty little child, but that just makes you all the more adorable."

The way in which the ORIGIN spoke made Erste feel even more irritated. Erste started attacking the ORIGIN's avatar with continuous attacks, punching, and kicking at full power, but no matter how much he attacked he could not even touch the other party. After several more attacks Erste finally stopped.

"Are you done?"

When the ORIGIN said those words Erste's right hand disappeared and his fist suddenly appeared in front of the avatar's face. Erste's fist was still unable to reach the ORIGIN's avatar but unlike before the fist actually got nearer and was just a few centimeters away from hitting the ORIGIN's avatar.

Seeing the scene before him the ORIGIN was quite surprised and then he started laughing heartily, which in turn surprised Erste.

"I guess what you'll be saying next is that you'll never be done before you're able to hit my face."

"... Are you sure you're unable to read my mind?" Erste asked while backing away from the ORIGIN's avatar.

"I do not lie, since I do not have the need to lie. Everything I said has always been the truth. I was only able to guess what you were thinking since I've been watching you for so long now."

"Is that so... Okay I'll believe you for now. Since you won't accept my first request let's change it."

"So what else do you want, child?"

"Don't speak like you have already given me something."

"Well, you can say that I have given you and every other human life and a soul."

"..." Erste who has always been confident and unwavering found it difficult to have a conversation with the ORIGIN.

"Fine... What I want is for you to stop observing me."

"I'm sorry my child, but I cannot do that. You are my only source of entertainment."

"Then how about you can continue observing me just don't observe me when I'm in the Rebellion's HQ? No scratch that, I want you not to observe the entire Rebellion's HQ. Surely you can grant that kind of request to me the child you favor the most."

"Hmmm... I guess if it's just in that one location, I could grant you that much."

"So you agree to my request?"

"Yes, I agree to not observe the Rebellion's HQ."

"That means everyone in it."

"Yes, I will stop my observation of the Rebellion's HQ and everyone as long as they are in it."

"It's a deal then." Erste extended his hand for a handshake. The ORIGIN's avatar took hold of Erste's hand and shook.

"It's a deal."

Once the deal was made Erste who had grabbed hold of the avatar's hand wanted to throw the ORIGIN's avatar but he could not move the other party.

"You are such a naughty child." Erste let go of the avatar's hand and shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, I just wanted to test it out. Now that the deal has been made you can go now."

The ORIGIN was once again surprised by Erste's actions as he was sure that Erste would not give up so easily.

"You truly are full of surprises."
