NOVEL NEXT Chapter 5: First Mission
In the next second they were sucked up into the rifts. Inside the rifts felt cooler than before but Zakar could feel the familiarity. It was these rifts that had transported them from their various places on earth to this very place.
He had wondered if everyone in this place had all died at the same time. If they had all died at the same time then how then were they this much. Five thousand was not a small number.
Time didn't give him room for jobless thoughts. They hit the ground of their new vicinity hard and sudden.
"Damn. All those rocks!!" someone exclaimed in shock as they were thrown into a sea of rocks. Colourful rocks that sparked in different colours and sparkled in dynamic glory.
"Are those diamonds?"
"Yeah!! Not only did they give us systems but also diamonds?! This I so generous of them. "
Zakar stared at the stones and rocks carefully. They sparked with unnatural beauty and were too radiative to be diamonds. For all he knew the Guides could not throw them into a place filled with diamonds without extracting them themselves. Except...
"They are real!!! The diamonds are real. We just grab as many as we can!!'' someone exclaimed as he wrapped his hands around the shinny stones.
Zakar stared at him in suprise. Were the diamonds actually real? How was that possible? Why hadn't they Guides seen it and taken it? Or had they taken theirs? Was this indeed the Paradise that God had planned for humans? Was that why?
[Incoming threat approaching!!! Initiate Battle Mode!!? ]
Zakar looked around as his eyes sharpened to see if he could sight any threats approaching. His fists dug into his palm.
"Guys. Stay alert!'' Zakar exclaimed to his team mates just as someone screamed in pain and agony.
Blood splattered across the stones and they noticed that the man who had gone after the diamonds was laying in a pool of his own blood. A deadly looking creature was standing beneath him with soaked mouth of blood.
"What the..."

Everyone had the system flash with the same message. On the head of the Gorilla baby was the message in ash colour.
Justin smiled and unsheathed his sword brutally. Then he traced his fingers on the shiny surface of the sword.
'Better to make the first kill and make a show of it.' he thought to himself.
Then he dashed forward with brutal speed and waving his sword in a swift motion, he slammed it against the Gorilla baby.
The sword connected with the muscles of the demon and in a second, it cleaved through it like a chunk of soft meat being served for stew.
Justin smiled as he stated at the demon then his gaze dropped on the rest of the crew.

Zakar, Myia and Sera stared at their own system interface as messages popped in serially.
"Fuck it. Why give members of the group Points when we did nothing? I would not like to the weak to be earning from another's sweat." Sera blurted out coldly.
Zakar turned to stare at her. He could understand that she had directed her statement to him but he couldn't blame her. The idea of awarding members of the group points from first kill was bizarre and that would be a problem in future. Zakar was sure of this.
Suddenly he saw a swarm of Gorilla Babies running towards them. His eyes flashed with curiosity. He looked around to analyse that everyone had engaged into battle mode.
Sera cracked her knuckles and dashed out with the crowd of recruits. Her speed was extremely fast and fierce. Zakar guessed that her speed stat would be 20 points or more.
He leaned back and sat on a rock. He didn't plan to attack now. He would watch from the rear and even if he would seem useless to his team, it would only be a matter of time for him to showcase his true power. For now he needed to analyse the battle ground and know where best to place his points during allocation.
"Aren't you going to get going?" Myia's voice cut through his thoughts. He shivered lightly and turned to stare at her in shock.
"..."
"I feel weak. You guys should—"

"You got to kidding." Zakar muttered in shock as he stared at the interface before him and Myia.
"Really? How are they doing that?" Myia muttered to herself as she stared at the interface. Her eyes shifted to the battle field.
"Well if you are weak I could get going. Just know that this act would make you even weaker." she said and dashed off.
Zakar stared at her as she ran. Such confidence. She seemed to be experienced in battle. Maybe she was a soldier in her past life or something.
'Ok. I think I just have to focus on them. Whether I look weaker or not, I have an SSS rank system, which means I'm stronger than they can imagine.'
Zakar thought to himself and focused his gaze on the battle ground.

Zakar stared at the interface. They were taking these things down too easily. Maybe they were not much of a hassle then.
But as he motioned himself to continue gaze at them....

He turned sharply and bursted right into it...
