Chapter 47: A Staged Kidnap
Few Hours Ago...
Sera and Myia sat on a table together. Before them was a palatable meal. They both couldn't shake off the feeling that they were worried.
Myia was worried about Zakar getting better. He did not eat with them for dinner and he had succeeded in skipping breakfast. Not to mention that he had been attacked by some people.
Then she remembered how he was sleeping harmlessly on his bed. She only phantom what he had gone through while they were not around.
"Tsk.."
On the other hand, Sera had a different worry. Her questions were tied down to the whereabout of the lady that had been with him last night. She was no longer there when they got back from the refectory.
"Damn!"
They both toyed with their food, each not wanting to spill out their mind. Myia tried her best to avoid eye contact with Sera and Sera did her best to read into Myia. And then at last.
"Don't tell me you are worried about him!"
"Don't tell me you are worried about her!!"
They both exclaimed to each other. At the hearing of each other's last words they coiled back again.
"Wait what?" Myia asked almost annoyed and at the same time felt a little embarrassed that she was thinking about a man.
"You are worried about Zakar?" Sera muttered quietly and Myia's eyes faltered slightly. Sera stared at her for a while trying to calm her nerves.
"Why the hell should be worried about him? He is having a quiet nap. Where is the lady that was with him? Don't you think that it would be best if we found her whereabout? Why would disappear just like that? I don't completely believe his words."
Myia stared at her in shock. Why would she not believe what he said? What was there for him to hide?
"I know that you will surprised by my line of thought but I am serious. In my past life I was a psychologist. It was through that path that I could read people's instincts and determine when they lied, betrayed and spoke the truth."
"You can't be serious. Zakar isn't like that. He's a calm—"
"Just shut up!" Sera thundered at her.
"You haven't known him for long and you speak of him like a saint that you have known all your life. Face the fact, Zakar lied to us about something if not everything." Sera said and tilted her sideways.
Myia stared at the ground in disbelief. She could not bring herself to belief that. She had seen how Zakar behaved. He didn't seem like one who would lie. Even if he would, there was no reason for him to lie now.
"He can't lie about the whereabout of the lady. That us purely stupid. There no comfortable reading for that." Myia said calmly.
"Really I accept that. We may not be able to think of any reasonable reason for his actions. That is what makes it more creepy. We have to find out what he's hiding under his sleeve." Sera said and put a little chunk of food into her mouth and ate it slowly.
Snap
Myia snapped her fork in two. The idea was only making her uncomfortable. How could Zakar be that crazy and clueless? How could Sera think him like that?
"Hello beautiful ladies." The voice seeped in from the corner and they turned to see a man standing before them. His smile was charming but they both didn't welcome it.
"May I?" He said gesturing at a seat close to Sera. Sera shot a dark glance.
"I'm sorry if I may be of nuisance but I can't withstand you two beauties staying alone in this vast place. I am only here to make you feel comfortable."
"No one asked for comfort giver." Sera shot at him sternly. He smiled and then chuckled lightly.
"You sure are one tough one. I like you." He said and Sera turned to look at him with denting anger.
"You sag that one more time and I kill you by bullets." She said and her gun materialised into her hands.
"Sera? Don't do that. We are in public." Myia mumbled from where she sat.
"You just shut up!" Sera shot at her and pointed the gun at the man. Everyone began to throw glances at them. Some seemed shocked but others didn't think much about it.
"Okay. Let's have a deal. I just want you to be a friend of mine. That would not be hard."
TAHHH
She shot a bullet from her gun and it whizzed past him as he quickly shifted allowing the bullet to strike against the wall behind him.
BOOM!!
"Damn." She muttered.
"Haha. You bullet couldn't reach me. I'm a B rank and I could easily make your life easy." He mumbled but her gun still pointed at him.
Then in an instant everyone froze. Then almost simultaneously, they felt a wave of energy hit them. The energy was strong and heavy it felt commanding.
"What the fuck is going on?" Myia muttered lightly.
Everyone began to murmur and soon their murmurs became noise. Noise that circulated in the refectory. Then suddenly someone rushed into the refectory panting hard.
"Where is the General? There is a crazy show down at room 567. He has to get there before someone gets hurt!" He exclaimed at the top of his voice.
Everywhere went dead quiet and in an instant they sprang into action running out of the refectory towards room 567.
"Room 567..." both Sera and Myia muttered as the crowd brushed away towards the centre of attention.
"That's our team room!" They both exclaimed upon realisation that it was their room.
"Zakar is in there. I've got to hurry." Myia mumbled and got up from her seat.
As she took a step forward, a hand slammed against her face, knocking her down to the ground. Sera looked at her and noticed that the man had hit her down. She gasped in surprise when she looked back again and noticed that he was not in front of her.
"What the... He was too fast. What the hell is this guy?" She muttered and pointed her gun at him and shot but he moved faster than her bullet, hitting it off without effort. Then he kicked her hard on the head. She fell on the ground and sundered on it.
"Good enough. Just got to take them away." He muttered and slammed his foot on Sera's face.
Her eyes opened lightly and she saw another person come out. He opened a red rift. She tried to stay long enough but she couldn't.
"I've seen him before. Why didn't I remember?" She muttered before she blacked out.
