Death System: I awakened SSS rank System

Chapter 11: Room Talks

'So if I got a different system, then why did I? What happened? Why am I with a different system?'

Zakar stared at his hands and clenched it. He them shifted his gaze to the floor. His heart began to skip fast and loud.

He could feel the sound of the hairs of his head waving. Was this anxiety or fear? What was he anxious about? What was he afraid of?

"Zakar."

The words of Myia shot through his nervous activity, breaking the streamlined connection of thinking. His heart contracted and his fingers dug deeper into his palms.

"Zakar!"

He jolted up this time. His breath heavy with stress and anxiety. His eyes danced in mystery.

"... sorry. I was..."

"What's wrong with you?" Myia asked in concern. Zakar turned to stare at her.

He could not tell her anything. What would he tell her? That his system was different from everyone's own? That he had somehow gotten a broken system that was OP?

He could not bank on such an information. He was not sure of his theory and as such could not bank on his instincts in such a situation. And relaying his thoughts out would be stupid and foolish of him.

"Nothing. Just lost in thoughts."

Myia stared at him for a while before jumping down to his bed. Zakar shifted slightly.

"To be really serious. I think you are over thinking about your rank too much. I think you should just relax and focus." Zakar turned away.

"My father used to be a soldier. He had a popular advice for me. That was what kept me going until..." she paused briefly.

"Thirteen hours until next mission?!" Myia exclaimed as she stared at the thun atmosphere.

At first he thought she was crazy but then he remembered that they all had systems and that each one's system was invisible to the other.

Her system had relayed a message to her but he did not get it due to his system cool down. A fact he dispised.

"Ohh. Yah." he hummed so as not to act silly. She turned to him and smiled.

"What the fuck are you two doing, awake?" Sera's voice blurted out sharply. They both turned to stare at her.

Sera sat up and cracked her shoulder joints. Then she twisted her ankle and knee blades. And she finally stood up.

Zakar studied her. She seemed very agile and felt too energetic but her scar was still present. He still wanted to wonder how his injury had healed up so fast. But he wasn't sure.

"Hey Sera!?" Zakar said faintly and she turned to look at him. Her eyes radiated in dark arua and her stern face told that she was too 'classified'.

"I wanted to know something. Like how many of your bullets did it take for you to kill a Gorilla Baby?" Zakar said and Sera stared at him.

"Why ask me such ridiculous question? That information will do you know good. Are you also weak in the brain? You got to be an ugly freak if you are."

"Come on. Those moves were too cool to miss out. I just wanna ask." Zakar persisted.

Sera smiled faintly. The soothing words of his praise greased over her ears and she smiled again. Zakar did know how to get along to people like her.

"Four could be enough." Sera said and tutned around. Myia exhaled lightly and graciously smiled.

"You're damn funny." she remarked but she didn't know why he had asked that.

He was simply making comparisons. Earlier, he had used a double fatal attack to slay a Gorilla Baby and that seemed more efficient than Sera.

"Where is Justin?" Sera asked as she stared at the empty bed where Justin was supposed to be laying on.

Zakar's eyes scanned the room immediately and he could only see the three of them in the room.

Something felt off. Justin had not been in the room since they got in and he could not know why. Or moreover why was it so?

"Don't know. Doesn't bother me." Myia said.

Sera didn't respond. She just continued walking towards the door but she stopped abruptly.

Zakar guessed she had received the same message as Myia. She didn't say anything. She just resumed her movement.

"Everyone!! Out here for breakfast!!" a loud voice echoed across every hidden room.

"What? I almost forgot that I got to eat." Myia muttered lightly. Zakar exhaled.

Two things were at the back of his mind— What was his system? Why was it different from other's own? And also, the last thing on his nerves were— Where was Justin?
