Deal with The Devil!

Chapter 101: The First Rotation

Once more finding himself in the mysterious state, Jinn looked at the complex structure of the pathways he assumed to be the veins.

With a familiar tug from within his consciousness, he pulled the dragon energy, dispersed around in the Root Chakra in the form of scattered Silver ashes.

And then…

Just as he practiced for the last week, he guided the energy forward. But unlike the test, there were two diverging paths from the start that combined further ahead into a single road.

'Should I use one of the paths? Or turn the energy around and clear the second one after clearing the first?' After much deliberation, Jinn chose the left path and pushed the energy through it.

A streak of silver light flashed through the pathway and cleared it in an instant. When Jinn tried to turn the energy around to move it through the right side, he noticed something disturbing.

He could not move his energy backwards.

'Why is this happening? Did I do it wrong? … whatever, I cannot quit now. I have to see this through.'

With no choice left, Jinn could only move forward.

If he had chosen to let go of the energy, it would have receded back into the Root Chakra, and he would have had to wait for an entire day before trying again.

Such were the effects of the backlash caused by a simple mistake.

As he continued from this point onward, Jinn found familiar routes, but each had a diverging point like before.

Two paths separating at one point and then combining at another.

Just like before, Jinn chose the left path and continued enhancing his dragon energy.

For an average male, the time it needed for an average human with only a simple Root Chakra to recover their exhausted energy completely was somewhere within one or two hours.

As he pushed through one major checkpoint after another, Jinn started to feel new motes of dragon energy emerging within his Root Chakra.

The old energy moved out of the Chakra sphere while the new energy took its place.

The process was slower and more exhausting than the tests he had taken.

But Jinn felt more confident with each passing node.

Comparing his current advancement to the levels from the test, Jinn was already on the seventh level and was moving on with great confidence.

He had a more difficult time moving through the last two checkpoints.

As he moved through the last phase of the procedure, Jinn could already sense the Root Chakra core up ahead.

He had made a full circle through his body and was about to bring the energy from where it had started.

But his happiness was short-lived.

When he was three turns away from the finish line, Jinn, guided by his instincts from the practice, had unknowingly released his control over the energy.

And the familiar scene of his energy moving on its own did not appear.

Before he realized his dragon energy, now a loose cannon collided with the wall.

Sprttt!

Ba-dump!

The moment it crashed, all the energy he was carrying dissipated.

A sharp pain tore through Jinn's lower body.

"Ugh!" he was barely able to hold himself back from screaming by biting the cushion of the sofa nearby.

Tears streamed down his eyes as Jinn felt his heart beating like a horse unleashed in a race.

His body trembled not only from the pain but also from his rising blood pressure.

It did not take Jinn a second to realize where this familiar pain came from.

'Internal energy, most likely bleeding.'

His clouded thoughts could at least analyze his situation. Jinn knew if he did not do anything, there was a chance that he might die.

Just as Jinn was going crazy thinking of a way to save himself, something changed.

The silver Dragon energy within his reservoirs was suddenly overlapped by an ominous red hue that appeared out of nowhere.

Ever since he had completed his contract with the imp and awakened his first demonic core, Jinn had never used it.

But now…

When he was on the verge of bleeding out, it activated on its own.

'Will it be fine?'

Jinn had many fears and doubts about this new power, but they were all extinguished when it moved on its own to the spot where he had injured himself and began spreading around like blood cells trying to heal the body.

Within seconds, Jinn could feel the blood pressure dropping and the pain disappearing.

His heart started to calm down as the crimson energy receded back to its spot after finishing its work.

"I feel like new." Jinn whispered it to himself in disbelief. He never would have imagined that being someone like him who could change between the human and the devil race could grant him such benefits.

"Don't be overjoyed, master. Higher healing is a significant innate power of the devil lineage, but it can only go so far. As long as you do not get your limbs cut off, you can heal cuts and even deep wounds with enough time."

Hearing the explanation of the imp, Jinn realized that he could have even used his points to heal, but the pain had clouded his judgment.

'Is there a pain nullification skill I can learn instantly?' Not willing to be distracted by pain like that?, Jinn asked seriously.

"There is; you would need a few million soul points."

"…never mind, I did not say anything."

Sighing, Jinn glanced at the clock on the wall. His eyes widened in shock upon seeing how much time had passed.

"30 minutes? For one cycle?" Jinn exclaimed in surprise before thinking. 'Wait… my dragon energy is already filled up. Which means I can go again.''

Even the geniuses might not recover as fast as he was able to do it.

For some reason, Jinn had a lower recovery time than others.

Maybe it had something to do with his current state.

Or so he thought.

Calming his mind, Jinn entered the meditative state again and tried the method one more time.

This time he was more careful and did not let his guard down.

In no time, he was finally back at the same point where he made a mistake before.

But this time, with deliberate focus, he pushed through the area with ease and entered the core once more.

'Since I am already recovered, I should keep going.' Without wasting any time, Jinn started his second round. This time, he aimed for every right split turn of the diverging paths.
