Chapter 398: Multiverse Destruction
Orion. The galaxies trembled as the funnel of brilliant starlight rotated in the dark universe, and a vast, terrifying aura spread across the cosmos.
Bardi towered above the galaxies, his massive body forged with bone spurs sharp enough to pierce planets. His features were hard and defined, his bone spurs a stark white. He looked like a cold, merciless demon floating through deep space.
Facing the onslaught of countless superheroes from across the multiverse, Bardi wore a cold expression. With a casual flick of his fingers, pressure surged like an interstellar tide, crushing scores of superheroes in full view.
The so-called superheroes, infused with the wills of their respective universes, were less than mosquitoes before him.
Bardi's form, enormous yet not cumbersome, stood in the starry void. His speed was shocking. As his divine body vibrated, powerful gusts of energy surged through every pore. The surrounding universe began to twist, magnetic fields broke down, and black holes formed.
At this moment, superheroes surged like an anthill, endlessly flooding out, desperately attempting to reach the antimatter cannon in hopes of destroying it.
"Pointless."
Bardi sneered. His immense voice became a sonic wave, cutting through the heroes like a blade mowing grass. Corpses were dismembered, blood floated through space, staining the stars, only to be shaken into fine particles.
Yet, the infinite number of superheroes, driven by the will of their respective universes, continued to pour forth to stop the antimatter cannon. There were simply too many to kill them all.
The fastest Flash took advantage of an opening in Bardi's casual attacks and dashed to the antimatter cannon.
"I made it into the antimatter cannon!"
He was elated, though no one could hear him. Operating within the Speed Force, faster than anyone else, he was isolated from external communication.
He immediately generated a golden hurricane within the swirling funnel of stars. He sprinted across countless planetary surfaces, running against the flow to create massive frequency vibrations. The antimatter cannon, formed from entire galactic systems, was disrupted in this golden storm. Cracks tore open in space, and multicolored lightning poured forth like a crashing galaxy.
In that moment, Speed Force lightning raged inside the antimatter cannon, unleashing immense destructive energy and shattering countless stars.
Galaxies crumbled.
The strongest Flash emerged from the starry hurricane, channeling the Speed Force into thunderous strikes aimed at destroying the antimatter cannon.
"It's working!"
A flicker of hope crossed the Flash's face.
But—
Before he could celebrate for more than a few seconds, the rift he had torn in the Speed Force sealed itself automatically. All that remained was a massive bolt of Speed Force lightning that continued to glow.
The antimatter cannon spun once more. Dazzling stars resonated. The cannon rapidly absorbed the runaway Speed Force energy.
The funnel of stars blazed.
In the next moment, the antimatter cannon was fully charged. A vibration, silent but terrifying, erupted into the blood domain.
The entire multiverse trembled.
All life instinctively clutched their heads in terror.
A primal fear of destruction overwhelmed them.
The universe quaked and screamed.
One-third of the multiverse popped like bubbles—silently vanishing, one universe after another.
The multiverse cried out. Countless civilizations and lives disappeared.
A full third of the multiverse was destroyed in an instant.
"No!"
The superheroes were horrified. Despite their overwhelming numbers, one-third of them flickered with ionized light, their forms dissolving into particles and vanishing.
Their universes had been destroyed, and the superheroes, sustained by their universe's will, could no longer exist.
The data from those destroyed universes gathered and condensed, pouring directly into Bardi's body. His form lit up with radiant starlight, his face relaxed with satisfaction as if bathing in a hot spring.
He stood with arms crossed in the universe, calmly absorbing one-third of the multiverse's information density. The intake made him significantly more powerful once again.
The surviving superheroes tried to stop it but were shocked to discover that the data light passed through their bodies unhindered, flowing directly into Bardi's divine form.
They couldn't stop it.
The process of devouring the multiverse's data was far beyond their power to resist.
And in just an instant, Bardi absorbed one-third of the multiverse's information density.
"Go in."
Bardi turned his head, casting a glance at the strongest Flash. His massive, icy fingers flicked the dazed and panicked speedster—who had believed he'd succeeded—and launched him deep into the antimatter cannon.
"Go ahead. Recharge the cannon."
Bardi sneered.
He had studied the Speed Force, mastered it more thoroughly than this Flash ever could.
Even the Speed Force feared him.
And this fool still tried to destroy an antimatter cannon infused with Bardi's own design using the Speed Force?
All he did was accelerate its recharging, hastening the destruction of the multiverse.
The firing of the antimatter cannon, and Bardi's actions, only deepened the fear of what was to come. Superheroes, growing more frenzied, charged in desperation toward Bardi.
Packed together in a wall of bodies, they launched their final, grief-stricken attack.
The strongest Green Lantern, forged from countless unified wills, fired a massive green beam that streaked across the galaxy and struck Bardi's thigh. He felt a mild itch.
Quantum Batman unleashed his most devastating missile against Bardi's abdomen. Bardi's chiseled abdominal muscles twitched as if ants had crawled over them.
The most powerful Wonder Woman swung the Vulcan Sword, capable of splitting ions, against Bardi's calf. It accidentally severed a single leg hair, and the sword immediately shattered into pieces.
The second antimatter cannon fired, filled with a dreadful light.
Again.
The heavens quaked.
Another third of the multiverse was obliterated.
The faces of the superheroes turned pale. They witnessed more of their comrades vanish, one by one, into motes of light.
When the final antimatter cannon fired, the entire multiverse had disappeared.
The last remaining superhero lowered their arms, helpless, and began to sing a solemn elegy. Their voice echoed with sorrow and despair as they wept, mourning their failure to save the multiverse.
At the end of all things, they vanished in a flicker.
After the multiverse had been destroyed, the 52 Original Universes appeared before Bardi.
All multiverses had been derived from these 52 primal realities.
There was no one left to stop Bardi. All the superheroes were gone.
The 52 Origin Universes hovered before him like candy, and Bardi began to devour them one by one, as if eating chocolates.
When only the final Origin Universe remained—
A golden, massive hand suddenly appeared, shielding it.
