NOVEL NEXT Hiatus announcement with timeline to finish

To all current, past, and future Dave fans, I have to make a long overdue announcement about the future of Dave vs the Devil as a series. Many of you have probably already noticed a lack of updates to this project. To those of you who have noticed and are waiting, I have good news and bad news. Since I'm the kind of person who always likes my bad news first, the bad news is that future Dave vs the Devil updates will be delayed for another 7 to 8 months while I finish a current project and another past project. The good news is that Dave as a series has a light but definite outline for completion and I do have a timeline for when I plan to return to it.
The time I have spent away has not been idle in regards to Dave as a series. I have been diligently working on the outline for several months now--in between my other projects of course--so it has an actual plot direction that I plan to take it in when I get back to writing it. To give a basic overview, my original plan was to make Dave a 4 book series. The first 3 were supposed to wrap up the Dave and the Devil storyline, and then book 4 would be an epilogue to the story of sorts. It would be a full-length book, but the main conflict will have been wrapped up at the end of book 3.
I could and may still cut the story off at the end of book 3 since the main story will have been wrapped up, but I wanted to flesh out Eli more as a character and give Dave and Margaret's romance the cathartic conclusion it deserves. Whether or not it becomes a 3 book or 4 book series depends entirely on my mental energy levels when I continue the project. I promise I will do everything in my power to try to make the 4th book happen for the small but dedicated fan base for this series. Everyone likes to see things they enjoy receive new content and I deeply hope I can do that for my fans. If it doesn't happen though, know that the Lucifer plotline and all other plot threads are planned to be wrapped up by the end of book 3. If it does end up being a trilogy, it will be a complete trilogy. I won't leave things hanging knowingly. I may make mistakes, but I won't do it to my knowledge.

I want to say that I love all my fans, but especially my Dave fans. You all are a wild and lovely bunch and no offense to everyone else, but my favorite fans. Dave vs the Devil has been a labor of love for me and it's fantastic to see all of your wonderful positive and encouraging comments and reviews on the series. While it will be delayed, I hope you can hang on for a little bit longer to see this series to its conclusion. I have had more fun writing this series than any other series and I want to see it receive a proper send off as much if not more than you do. Thank you for all your love and support and I hope to see you this Fall 2025.
