Chapter 28

DINOYSUS-Enyo

Demeter watched as the Goddess of the Harvest folded onto herself as he sauntered towards her and seeing her cower in fear at his gaze, made him shiver with excitement. It seemed he had trained her well.

Demeter was the scapegoat he had chosen, to hideaway his identity as Enyo. He had blackmailed her using her children's lives as leverage, and what a fool she was to compromise on her own free will just because of some human children.

Ahh, the irony a Goddess debasing herself just for some useless human children. However, in a way, she was similar to Freya, though a lot more docile and harmless.

This was why the lower world amused him as much as it did.

"What do you think you were doing?" he asked sweetly and saw her tense up as he placed he gripped Demeter by the chin, and looked her in the eye.

"Were you trying to compromise my identity to that boy?" he asked sweetly, as Demeter paled in worry.

"No," she answered in a quivering whisper as she looked down.

"It was him, he asked me. I denied i..." she tried t make excuses and though he knew them to be true, he smiled internally as he saw her panic and loose herself.

"You lie!" he thundered, and saw her body begin to quiver as he smiled, as he wiped off the smile off of his face and saw her eyes widen in fear.

"Please, don't. I beg you. Not my children. I will be better. I will make sure that he does not suspect..." and that boy was a problem. To have figured out as much as he had, about Ishtar familia, about the Ikelos familia and now even reaching upto one of his last covers, of Demeter.

Inumaki, that boy was moving too fast.

Though, it wouldn't really matter too much now would it? Given what Ishtar had planned for him and his little cohort of assosciates. They would learn soon.

But Demeter was a problem, she had nearly cost him the whole plot. And so she needed to be punished, and so he looked her in the eye and spoke the very words that he had broken her with in the first place.

"Now, my dear Demeter. Why don't you smile..." and as soon as the words left his mouth, he saw her still as those lips turned up in an ugly smile.

"ENOUGH!" but before he could continue, a calm and cold voice stopped him in his tracks, as anger rose in his heart as a cloaked figure emerged from behind him.

"That is enough, Dinoysus," and he straightened up as Demeter's eyes widened as she turned towards the cloaked figure, who was flanked by a giant easily recognisable all over Orario.

"Freya," Demeter gasped, as the one person Dinoysus feared the most in the city stepped forward with her familia's ace, Ottar behind her.

"It is not what you think..." Demeter tried to speak up, but one look from Freya, and the Goddess of the Harvest stopped.

"I know everything, Demeter," and the said Goddess's eyes widened at those words.

"You do," Demter gasped, as she fell to her knees.

"Stop this. I beg you. Stop him. Stop this madness!" she begged the Goddess of beauty who looked on imperiously, before opening her mouth.

"I am afraid I cannot...."

GOJOUNO KAGUYA

"AGHHH!" Kaguya grunted in pain as her back hit the wall once more, and her sword fell down from her hands and clanked onto the ground.

She tried to quickly reach for it, but before she could a spear raced through the air and pushed right through her shoulder nailing her to the wall as she screamed in pain.

"AGHH!" she screamed in agony as the blood seeped out of her shoulder as her opponent walked out of the debris, blood now dripping from his face, his goggles all destroyed to reveal those maddening red gaze of his.

"Huff. Huff," he was breathing hard as he bled out from his numerous wounds while cradling one of his arms, as he glared at her.

"That ought to keep you in your place. You bitch!" he cursed as Kaguya's whole body seared in pain. She was in no better condition, her whole body was covered in cuts and bruises, and she was bleeding out of both her head and shoulder as she lay there pinned to the wall as her opponent took out a healing potion and emptied it over his head.

"AHHH!" he gasped, as his wounds began to heal as he began to walk towards her.

"You have been much more trouble than we had thought!" he whispered as he walked towards her, as her heart thumped in her chest as she tried to bite through the pain and push out the spear that was keeping her in place.

"You fight rather well for a newly ranked up Level 5 adventurer. I can see why you girls were quite the talk all those years ago," he added as he walked towards her, as she heard screams from the other side of the castle, where Alise and Lyra were fighting.

Yet she was helpless to do anything, and just as she was able to move the spear by an inch, she was made to scream in agony once again as Dix Perdix pushed it in ad began to twist it.

"AGHHHH!" she screamed in agony as tears welled up in her eyes before the man reached for her hair and pulled up her face.

"But this is as far as you go, little samurai. Your time is over!" and in a blur his hand was one her neck, choking her out as she lay there helplessly as saliva dripped down her mouth.

'No,' she thought as she tried to kick and scream and push, and yet she was helpless as her only arm lay there by her side uselessly, as the man tightened the grip on her neck.

"Be a good girl and die..." and as her vision began to blur, as a lack of oxygen began to make her brain shut down, she struggled hard yet in vain as her body tried to fight it all, but it was all futile as tears dripped down her face.

And as she lay there, the last thing she thought was that face—that young boy's face who had once come to her rescue years ago, and had saved her from the death's mouth.

And in a way she found herself praying once more, if not for anything then but a glimpse of that face, and yet as darkness began to envelop her vision she realised that perhaps, it was too much.

"I am so..."

BOOOM!

And then it happened as in a blur, the hand around her neck vanished. The pressure around her neck vanished, as she gasped hurriedly, her body hungering after oxygen as the whole ground shook as a she found herself staring at the back of a person—the very person she had just prayed for.

"KUGH!GUGH!" she coughed up blood as her vision cleared up, and she saw that it was really him.

"Inumaki-kun," she gasped in a raspy voice as she saw that in one of his arms was his spear, while in the other hand was the bloody and limping body of what seemed to be an amazonian adventurer.

He threw the body the side roughly, as he turned his gaze towards her, his eyes gleaming an ominous red as power pushed off of him in waves.

BOOOM!

"You are here," she blurted out as tears fell out of her eyes, and she saw his eye look over her injuries with a frown, before he reached for the spear around her shoulder and pulled it out

"A cursed weapon," he whispered as suddenly a figure blurred infront of him, making her eyes widen.

"Behind you..."

BOOOM!

And the very ground shook, as dust covered the area and she saw Dix Perdix's body flying out as it stuck the wall with such an impact that it caused a massive crater to form, as the Ikelos familia captain began to cough up blood.

"You shouldn't interrupt people, when they are talking," Inumaki-sama's voice rang out as he walked out of the dust cloud, as he walked towards her and reached into his pocket and emptied out a healing potion on her head.

And yet it had no effects, just like before as she lay there bleeding.

"I see," he whispered as he turned towards the spear in his hand, and then she saw his hand shimmer in a rainbowish hue and the world halted around them for a second, and for a second she felt as if she was in the presence of a god, as the dark red spear crumbled in his hand.

"YOU BASTARTD!" the captain of Ikelos familia screamed as her wounds began to heal, the healing potion finally taking effects as he looked her in the eye.

"You should rest. I will take care of everything," he assured her with a smile, as Dix Perdix stepped forward.

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! THAT SPEAR! DO YOU KNOW HOW VALUABLE IT WAS!" he balked as Inumaki-sama turned to face him.

"It does not matter," he replied, as his body began to glow with that silverish grey hue once more as he opened his mouth.

"O Mother! Grant me Strength..." she heard him whisper, as the whole area exploded, as power rushed off of him in waves, the ground underneath him cracking as she saw those red eyes of Dix Perdix quiver in fear as he clicked his tongue.

"Shit! I am getting out of here," and with that the man threw what seemed to be a smoke explosive on the ground, and yet before it could even hit the ground Inumaki-sama was infront of him as he pushed his body against the wall.

BOOOM!

"Your fates were all sealed the second you decided to attack the people precious to me. Now DIE!"

"AGHHH! NOOOO!" and then in a massive scream she saw his head getting crushed as blood splattered all over Inumaki-sama's face, before he turned away and looked to the side as the wall blew up.

BOOOM

"AHHH!" and she watched as two bodies flew through the air, before they were caught by Inumaki-sama as he jumped back, and landed back down.

"Alise, Lyra!" she gasped as she saw the bloodied form of her two friends, and yet was only thankful that they were yet alive as a hulking figure stepped out of the giant hole in the wall.

"Oh! What do we have here!" the snarling voice came, as the armored form of Phryne Jamil, the Ishtar familia captain walked in through the hole, halberd on her shoulder.

"You weren't supposed to be here, Silent!" she whispered as she licker her lips.

"But now that you are, I am going to have quite some fun breaking you down!" she snarled as Inumaki-sama put down the bodies of Lyra and Alise, before he stepped forward.

"I would like to see you try!" he scoffed as the giant of a woman smiled.

"Do it!" she screamed.

"Shaldo!" and with that a purple hue enveloped the whole mansion as she felt power leave her limbs, and her eyes widened as she recognsied the magic.

This was Valdetta's magic, Shaldo. One that lowered the rank of anyone inside its limits according to her will, and there could only be one target for this.

"This magic!" and as she looked up she saw that Phryne Jamil had vanished and had blurred right behind Inumaki-sama, who was now covered by a purple hue, as she swung her halberd.

"You are mine. SILENT!" she screamed as she swung it and Inumaki-sams's body was sent flying into the wall.

"INUMAKI-SAMA!" she screamed, much like Alise and Lyra, as dust covered him, as Phryne Jamil.

"Did you really think we were not prepared for you. You idiot! You are but a useless vermin, who I will have much fun devouring," she taunted as she licked her halberd.

"Then when you are spent I might leave off the rest for the other girls," she continued.

"I am afraid that might not be possible," Inumaki-sama's voice interrupted her little monologue as he stepped out of the dust, a bruise on his face as he spat blood to the side as he walked forward.

"Impossible!" Phryne Jamil's eyes widened, for unlike herself his power had not weakened, and had only risen, now rushing off of him such that he cratered the floor with every step he took.

"Did you really think that this would effect me," he taunted, as he shook his head and continued to step forward.

"You forget whose blood runs through my veins!" he thundered as the purple hue covering the mansion vanished with a crack, as she saw Phryne Jamil still in fear as Inumkai-sama stood face to face with her.

"As for your plans, there is a little problem with that..." he began and for the first time she looked out the window and stilled at the scenes outside, at the blood bath that was left there.

".... because after today nothing will remain of Ishtar familia!" and then he opened his mouth and whispered the ominous words.

"GOSPEL!"
