Fusion training
Alex just needed to get his [hydrosis] trait to T7 in order to have all of his elemental powers in the master rank. But unfortunately there were no powerful water attribute monsters he could repeatedly farm nearby to grind out that upgrade. Instead of wasting his time on that Alex simply turned his attention to all the possible elemental fusions involving the dragon element. The hunter guild had records of five of them that Alex could try and recreate as well as the rough ratio they needed to be mixed in to do so.-
First on that list was the blaze element that was comprised of fire and dragon type energies in an equal seventy/seventy mix. It should come as little surprise then to learn that this elemental energy was easily created by Alex which gave him the T1 trait [blaze]. He had no intentions of ever actually using the element since not only was it very weak at this point but he also had much better options. The element itself though was rather strange as it was basically like a supercharged version of the standard fire element. This meant that while did did more damage against things weak to both fire and dragon energy it was pretty much the same as before the fusion.-
The next fused element was the thunder pole element that as it's name suggested was fusion of dragon and thunder at a seventy/seventy mix. This proved to be a bit tricky for Alex as the fused element was basically just a weird mix of gravity and electro magnetism in how it behaved. Despite getting the ratios right Alex simply couldn't produce the element for some reason leading him to believe that there was actually another component to it that hadn't been recorded.-
He wasn't upset at this since he went into this endeavor knowing full well he may fail due to incomplete information. Alex was aware that according to this records the monsters who had been noted to have these elements were incredibly rare to encounter much less successfully hunt and as such were rather unknown. Rather than mope over his failure Alex instead informed the scholars of his findings which they were more than happy to add to the record. A few of them were very interested in seeing Alex's experiments with his elements since there was very few monsters with more than two elements and the way they created their unique powers was not very well known.-
The third element Alex tried to recreate was fatalis's black flame that was a mix of fire and dragon energy at a ratio of fifty/one hundred fifty. This was the first of the fused elements that had a very imbalanced ratio and as a result proved hard to grasp. In his many attempts Alex barely got a few black sparks for his effort but no flames. It took him nearly three whole days of attempting to recreate the element to realize the problem.-
'You need peak level energies of both types to create this stuff. I suppose I shouldn't expect anything else from the peak of the pyramid huh?' he thought with a sigh. While his dragon element qualified for the fusion his fire element was only at the start of T8 and as such was a full tier lower than the required level. Unfortunately all of the rest of the fused elements on the guilds records involving the dragon element also seemed to have this problem. He did find one without this problem however it involved only fire and thunder.-
This was the light element and recreating it was a pain in the backside for Alex for one reason in particular. The smallest amount of the stuff he created immediately damaged his scales and blinded him temporarily at the same time. He got the [light] trait for his effort at T1 but he simply couldn't use the element without harming himself , leaving it essentially useless. He stopped there however as he was in uncharted territory beyond this point and he didn't accidentally want to create something like radiation that kills everything around him. This was a very possible thing mind you as the five elements were involved in some regard to literally every part of the world.
