Crossover: I Took In a Runaway High School Girl

Chapter 172: Study

"I'm going to go study magic. Fern is urging me." Frieren blushed and ran away.

She seems... embarrassed? This was interesting. An elf mage who was usually cold could be embarrassed because of me. Sure enough, honesty was the best approach.

Renji distributed the cards to Shiina Mashiro, Sayu Ogiwara, Mai Sakurajima, Nanami Aoyama, and Chihiro Sengoku. He asked them to put the cards on the back of their phone cases, as the cards fit perfectly.

He would give the rest tomorrow. Senior Mai was often absent from school because she was filming a new movie. But Renji wasn't worried that she would be treated unfairly, as the film company belonged to the Yukinoshita family. Mai could act as she pleased. Maybe a live-action movie about a magical girl could be made. Although live-action movies often ruined the original story, it depended on who played the magical girl.

Unconsciously, it was nighttime. Renji had dinner and took a break. He wanted to find Sayu, or Mashiro, or senior Kamiigusa Misaki for daily "practice." There was a knock on the door. It was Shiina Mashiro in a suspender skirt.

What made Renji blush, Mashiro was wearing nothing underneath the hoodie. He touched his nose. "Mashiro, it's so late, what is it?"

"It's something." Mashiro came in and sat on the side of his bed, patting the empty space next to her. "Renji, come here and sit here."

Renji looked at Mashiro's cute face, swallowed, closed the door, and sat down next to her. His arm was hugged. The blonde girl hugged his soft arm, giving him a wonderful feeling. But Renji didn't focus on that. He looked at her beautiful eyes. "What's wrong? You look sad?"

Mashiro's eyes dimmed. "Rita said she's coming to pick Mashiro up."

Renji was stunned, then picked Mashiro up and put her on his lap. "That's not going to happen! Mashiro is already a member of the Sakurasou Dormitory. No one can take you back."

Hearing this, Mashiro rubbed her cheek against Renji's chest. "Renji, you're so nice. Mashiro doesn't want to go back. I don't want to go back to paint in that room. Mashiro has already debuted, and as a cartoonist, I have to continue serializing."

This naive girl, even though she seemed to not understand anything, she understood. Rita represented her family. Her family wanted her to continue producing famous paintings to create value. But that was their hope, not what Mashiro wanted. For her, the cartoonist's path might be difficult, but it was what she wanted to do.

"Don't worry, I'm here, and I won't let Mashiro go," Renji comforted her.

Mashiro sighed in relief and leaned gently into his arms. After a while, she spoke again. "Rita is very persistent... Renji, what if Mashiro has to go?"

Renji smiled slyly. "Then we'll find a way for Rita to stay here too! If Rita is here, can't we just take you with her?"

Renji didn't care about the Shiina family. He didn't believe Mashiro's parents hadn't investigated him. And so far, they hadn't acted. Even if Mashiro's parents didn't care, they had to report this matter. With Frieren here, even if the demon king attacked, Renji wouldn't be afraid. He didn't care about the Shiina family at all.

It might sound arrogant, but who wasn't arrogant when they had power?

When Mashiro heard Renji's words, her eyes lit up. "Alright, Renji, you have to go with Mashiro and hold Rita back!"

The girl immediately made up her mind. Although she was confused, she understood her family's intentions.

"No problem, Mashiro, let's work together." Renji smiled. "But it's late now. Little Mashiro, don't we need to exercise to digest food?"

Renji grinned like a bad wolf. Mashiro frowned and pinched Renji's cheeks, pulling them to both sides. "Don't smile like that, it's not good."

"Huh..." Renji's face froze. You said it's not good?

"So, what kind of smile do you think I look good with?"

"Hmm, like before. A little gentler."

It turns out girls like warm guys. Okay, I'll go with that.

Renji raised his palm and stroked Mashiro's soft golden hair. "Mashiro, do you want to eat something delicious?"

Mashiro looked at him. Her cheeks were warm. She liked it when Renji treated her like this. So gentle. It made her feel comfortable. Facing Renji's fiery gaze, Mashiro rubbed her cheek against Renji's chest. "Yes," she answered softly.

After giving Mashiro milk and getting her to fall into a deep sleep, Renji sneaked to the third floor.

Mai Sakurajima was woken up by a strange sensation. She opened her eyes and saw a person who made her lips red and swollen. She was angry. "You pervert!"

Renji wasn't angry. He hugged Mai and smelled her sweet scent. "You're committing a crime," Mai said. She held back her embarrassment and hit Renji's chest. Although she also had feelings for Renji, she didn't expect this scoundrel to attack her in the middle of the night.

"No, I just came to hug Senior Mai. You're going to be filming again, I can't bear it," Renji said.

"Lies. There are Mashiro, Sayu, and others. What can't you bear?" Mai's face was full of resentment.

What should I do if this guy is too fickle?

"I just can't bear to let you go. Why don't you quit being an actress and just be my lover?"

"No." Mai refused. "Being an actress is a way to show my value, and... I don't believe you don't like my identity as an actress. Hehe, Renji."

Renji didn't deny it. He hugged Mai's slender waist. "Senior Mai, I won't let you go tonight."

Mai blushed and leaned into his arms. "Don't mess with me, or I'll break you!" Hey, she's getting fierce and threatening.

Renji laughed. The reason he attacked Mai in the middle of the night was that they rarely saw each other. Relationships needed to be maintained. So when there was an opportunity, he wouldn't hesitate.

Mai leaned into his arms and closed her eyes. She felt this hug was so warm and safe. Maybe this was why Sumireko was willing to stay with Renji. Mai remembered the time when she felt like she was going to disappear. That feeling of fear was something she couldn't share with anyone. The emptiness was desperate. But when she was wearing the bunny girl costume and experimenting with the "law of disappearing existence," she saw Renji looking at her with lustful eyes.

It felt like a fated encounter. If you thought about it, it was romantic. Of course, it would be better if he were more faithful. But... it seemed impossible. Mai thought about the sounds she heard earlier, her cheeks flushing. I can't take it alone...

She fell asleep in Renji's arms. To her relief, Renji cherished her and didn't do anything excessive.
