Chapter 19: Soul stone

The words flashed again when the yellow screen had glitched repeatedly leaving a lingering feeling of disdain behind on the face of its user. Harry's heart thumped loudly in his chest with each time the screen did its thing.
To lessen the air of melancholy and awkwardness settling around him, he decided to focus on other things. He started to check his body to see if there were any bruises and cuts on it but to his surprise they were more than he could count. His eyes widened with the little he could count and these ones were numbering around twice a dozen.
Closing his eyes again he scoffed while scratching the back of his head to lessen the tension building up within his body. Though this stress and mishaps he was passing through were uncalled for, it was far better than staying at home with his strict parents. Their cold gaze always gave him the shivers in conjunction with their indifferent attitude.
Toby was also one heck of a demon he had to take care of. His I'll treatment was unnerving and also aimed to break his fighting spirit. Harry understood his situation and all he had to was to put the savage dog on a chain. This was the only way he could ever silence Toby forever and he had to do it at all cost.
School was a nice place where he could get clarity from all the things clouding up his mind. At times he went to school with anger bubbling up in his head; killing his parents sometimes came into his head as an option. After some time in school though, all these dangerous thoughts begin to subside and he gains back his sanity.

The screen glitched again, knocking him out of his daze and making him aware of its own eminent presence which Harry seemed to have forgotten.
Harry used the time left before the synchronization was done to do something more profitable. He decided to mutilate the corpse of the dead cat. Survival was something he had to make constant in this equation of his life and one sure way of ensuring that was to get a food supply which last for a while.
Without much thought, he used his black sword to sever the limbs of the great cat who had fallen prey to his wits. Harry had done this because he had no container to carry this monster inside with him but with just its limbs it was going to be easy for him.
A huge smile appeared on his face as he began his work as a surgeon—tearing asunder what was left of the cat, bit by bit. Within no time, he was done with the cutting and was ready to leave.
He looked at the sword with a look of surprise as he seized it up with his eyes which were a bit tired at the moment due to being deprived of adequate rest. The black sword had penetrated the monster body with just a simple thrust signifying it required less force to act per unit area. Hence, its pressure was always released in heaps and bounds with just a simple push or pull.
Harry sighed after making out some calculations in his head. 'Then this means that if a person rubs his hand by the edges of this sword's blade then if care is not taken, the person might lose a couple fingers or his entire hand.'
The smile he had had on his face recently collapsed into a horrified expression when he had stared at the weapon for the second time with his thoughts finally clarified. He stomped his feet on the ground and swore to never let this blade come into contact with a human body.
Although to be precise, Harry had already killed a human being he still had not lost his conscience completely and was still a good person. Such a thing couldn't be said about him when it came down to these monsters. He used the tip of the sword to pierce the head of the cat.
Klang!
The sword went swiftly but after a second or two after penetrating the head of the cat, the sound of metal hitting against another metal echoed throughout the place. This had caused Harry's hands to come to an abrupt halt. His eyebrows twitched and narrowed as he squinted his eyes to see through the narrow hole created by the sword's journey in to monster's head.
He quickly pulled out the sword from its original position and thrusted through another place at a higher speed as compared to what he had used from before. This time though the sword had penetrated through the body without stop and entered the ground with a sickening sound.
Harry lost his footing in the process and toppled over the body with his hand leaving the hilt of the sword. Pain surged through his already brutalized body as cuts and bruises appeared once again, opening up those that existed before. Harry gasped in pain while holding his head and gnashing his teeth vigorously.
The yellow disappeared and appeared in front of his eyes once again:

Harry pulled himself up from the ground after reading the message and decided to continue his work before the process was done. From what he had experienced before, he envisioned the process to incapacitate him in the end so he wanted to do everything he needed to do before that time.
He grabbed the hilt of his sword and placed it by his side while pushing his other hand into the head of the cat. After some couple minutes of nonstop thrusting, his hand finally came into contact with something. Something which was warm and soothing to the skin.
He could almost feel energy moving out of the thing into his hand when his hand had touched it. 'What the hell is this?', he asked with a smile slowly growing on his face as his hand felt the warm surface of the thing in question. With all his might he slowly tried his best to pull it out of the head of the monster's head. Due to how hard its skull was the thing couldn't come out of the head of the creature.
Out of desperation, he picked up his sword by its blade almost forgetting the calculations he had made not long ago. Before he could realize his mistake though, the sword had already made a cut in his palm, causing him to twitch and whine in pain. Blood slowly seeped of the wound and Harry was left staring at it like a football fan watching their favorite footballer dribble the whole park.
He gently grabbed the hilt of the sound with his wounded hand and stabbed its blade into the monster's head again. 'It is because of you that I'm getting hurt all over my body!', he screamed in his head while removing the sword and slicing the head severally with its blade. His eyes flashed in awe when a small but large in its own way crystal clear crystal had fallen on the ground.
Immediately it had fallen on the floor though the body of the monster which Harry had prepared to go back to the cave with had turned into ashes within an instant. This had caused a bead of sweat to rush down his forehead. Something in his head finally broke and he could no longer hold back his anger and dissatisfaction.
Aaaarggh!!
He tried his best to scream but nothing had come out of his mouth. The soundless scream persisted for a while until he had lost all the air he had inhaled before screaming. His face turned red with sadnesses as he stared at where the ashes of the monster laid with regret. If he knew this was going to happen he wouldn't have taken it out of the monster's body.
Looking around though, he couldn't find the crystal anywhere. He started scratching the back of his head and sighed since he had noticed something he hadn't taken into consideration before. The grass surrounding the place where the crystal had fallen had already grown a few inches away from the ground. This had caused the look of dissatisfaction on Harry face to change to that of agony and misery with an instant.
Now he had to grab the crystal before the grass grew beyond his reach since they were going to get much more dangerous with how much they grew.
