Chapter 527: When the Earth Itself Spoke
Malvador had summoned the Demon King.
He had sacrificed all those corpses and hearts to the Demon King.
He was the one who made all of this possible but now the Demon King asked Pablo to make an offer? Ridiculous. Pablo did nothing. Heck, he tried to kill the Demon King.
Nevertheless, here they were.
Pablo wasn't expecting Dravakos to say something like that but now that he said it, Pablo didn't mind thinking about it.
But just like Malvador, he reached the same conclusion.
He couldn't give anything to the Demon King which the Being couldn't take himself.
Pablo could answer honestly but he had a thought that if he said he can't give anything, the Demon King might kill him on a whim.
He kept his head low and thought about all the possibilities while Dravakos shifted his eyes behind Pablo.
He stared at the empty space behind Pablo and everyone thought that the Demon King was only looking at the Sky.
But Pablo knew the truth.
The Demon King was looking at none other than Andrezj and Cupid.
Cupid wasn't in Seraphim anymore as she had lost her wits the moment she saw the ritual.
Andrezj was the only sane Angel as he looked at the Demon with as much vigilance he could manage. One wrong move and the strongest Angel would perish.
"Where did you find these two?" Dravakos asked.
Pablo answered right away. "Only the female one is mine. The male one belonged to someone else."
Pablo didn't dare lie as he felt the hundred eyes of the Demon King could see through all or any lies.
"But where did you find her? Were you born with her?"
Pablo gulped. He arranged an answer inside his mind.
"She told me the Gods sent her for me as I am meant for something greater for this world."
"Hmm. That seems likely. And you are here, in this war. Nothing greater than that. What about this male one? He, tough." The Demon King asked about Andrezj and Pablo got to know by now that Dravakos couldn't speak the Human tongue all that well. He doesn't add words between his sentences.
Nevertheless, Pablo would answer the Demon King.
"He is a guardian angel of someone else. A girl who is hiding right now."
Pablo gave an honest answer and his soldiers had no idea what their Commander was talking about.
Not even Draxus, Hena, Harlia, Jaun Elia knew about it.
The eight slaves, however, knew something like that as they had seen Pablo and Sera talking to the air while he was making the Demonite in that haunted house of that slum.
But of course, they didn't know the details and they were smart enough to judge that it wasn't the right time to ask for details.
The Demon King nodded a few times and Andrezj prayed that the Being doesn't demand for Sera to make her appearance out of hiding.
"You are someone special, Human. What's your name?" Dravakos asked and Andrezj heaved a sigh of relief as the Being didn't ask for Sera.
"Pablo Castillo." Pablo answered truly again.
"Would you like to become the ruler of Hell? I can see that you have killed a lot of people. And you not old that much either. You have guts to be one."
Pablo was taken aback by such an offer but for sure, he had never even thought about such a thing. It didn't entice him at all.
But if he refused, would the Demon kill him? But if he said yes and the Demon King figured out that he was lying, he might end up dead anyway. So…
"No. I don't want that." Pablo didn't lie.
The soldiers gasped and the Demon King stared at the down head of Pablo.
Pablo waited for a death sentence but instead of that, he got…
"Heh." A snicker.
The Demon King let out a small laugh.
"You are not afraid of I, are you?" He asked.
Pablo flinched. "I am afraid of you. Very much."
"Oh you are. I know. But your fear is different. You are afraid of something else. You are not afraid of my presence. But my presence in front of you. You are not afraid of my powers. But them being used on you. You are not afraid of talking to me. But saying something that could trigger me. You are not afraid of me, Pablo Castillo. You are afraid of me not going away to give you a chance of killing me."
Pablo twitched. He didn't raise his head as all the eyes on the Demon's body stared at him.
"Am I right?" Dravakos asked, smiling.
Pablo didn't answer but now he knew that countless eyes of the Demon could really see through all.
The moment the Demon King had appeared, Pablo was afraid. Yes. But after a while, when he was convinced that this Being had to be overcome, Pablo had already begun thinking about getting out of this situation. Meaning, he already began thinking about killing the Demon King.
The Demon King kept his smile and when Pablo didn't answer he became sure of his claims.
"It seems I right. You do want to kill I. You want I to go away so you could do another one of your God magic."
Dravakos laughed out loud.
"I like challenge. But I afraid I cannot allow that to happen. You not some another prideful idiot. You have what it takes. So, brave Pablo Castillo, I shall not go away to give you a chance to kill I. I shall kill you right now!"
Dravakos spread his arms and all the soldiers felt they lost the war.
Draxus brought his shadow under Pablo's feet.
Andrezj muttered something under his breath. If Pablo died his dearest would be devastated.
Malvador shouted from the back. He wanted to kill Pablo.
Pablo got ready to use one more Special Skill.
But all of that went to nothing as the Demon King summoned a sword and pointed it at Pablo's heart.
Like lightning, he moved that sword and it would have pierced Pablo's heart right there and then if not for…
RUMBLE!
The Ashen Crucible to suddenly tremble once more.
