Chapter 408: Weapons for What Lies Ahead
Pablo's first unofficial slave was Flashy and the man was looking at Melon's, Pablo's official slave's, breasts.
The problem? Melon was fifteen. And Pablo was in the middle of an important meeting.
Nevertheless, this world had no laws against torment with minors so Flashy wasn't really afraid. Though, even if there was a law like that in this world, Pablo believed Flashy would still have done what he was doing.
Also, Pablo couldn't blame Flashy for listening to his instinct. He risked it all to lose to his intrusive thoughts.
However, Pablo still needed for his slave to be focused.
"Flashy." Pablo spoke.
Flashy heard his boss and he instantly stood straight.
"I wasn't looking!"
'Don't confess the crime before people even know a crime happened, idiot.' Pablo grimaced.
The soldiers and the others frowned at Flashy's words as they didn't get it. Where wasn't he looking?
Draxus would have asked it just for the sake of humor but Pablo spoke before that.
"Pay attention here, Flashy. This mission also involves your mother. Forget your thoughts for a second."
"Yes, boss. And I was only looking to check their authenticity. Nothing else."
"I have no intention to know that. Don't justify yourself."
"As you say, Boss."
Flashy went silent and Pablo shook his head to clear away Flashy's words.
He again locked eyes with his soldiers and slaves and carried on.
"Before coming here, I had called Draxus to instruct you all for something. Did you all do it?"
"YES!"
Pablo nodded. "Good. Take them out now."
The soldiers wasted no time and shoved their hands inside their bracelets on their left hand. And some did the same but with the bracelet on their right hand.
Pablo had told them to wear the bracelet containing essential items on their non-dominant hand as this way, their dominant hand would move faster to take out things in a tense situation.
Gerald did the same as he was also informed about this but Sera did nothing and so were the slaves. Though Sera knew what was going on, unlike the eight slaves who had no clue about it.
After a few seconds, the soldiers finished with their act and now each of them had something in their hands.
"You all brought the weapons suitable to yourself, right?" Pablo asked.
"YES!"
The soldiers replied as Pablo had told them through Draxus that all of them are required to bring weapons to the ground.
Pablo had personally informed Gerald about this and Sera also knew it but she needed no weapons as she had the strongest of the knights protecting her—Andrezj.
Pablo had informed Draxus about this at 4 AM and despite the sleepiness, the loyal young man informed all the soldiers and with them, went to pick weapons from the heavy and wide range artillery the military had.
For Abyssal Butchers, this armory was open all day and night and they needed no permission to choose any weapons. They can pick as many weapons as they want.
But Pablo had clearly instructed to pick only those weapons that they were good at or at least decent. Just because a weapon looked cool, it doesn't need to be picked.
The soldiers didn't dare to go against their Marshal's words and picked the weapons that they had learned using before becoming the Abyssal Butchers.
Gerald was rich so it wasn't hard for him to pick a weapon and come to the ground.
Pablo roamed his gaze around the ground and saw many ranges of weapons. Swords, halberds, sets of knives, daggers, cross bows, axes and some more which Pablo didn't know the correct word for.
Gerald, though, had a sword type thing and it could extend and decrease with ease and could work as a whip as well.
'Must be a custom made weapon. Nice.'
Pablo was satisfied with what he was seeing and he could move forward with his plans.
But before that, he didn't forget about the eight slaves, who were looking around in confusion and somewhat feeling left out.
"You eight," Pablo addressed them. "Don't worry about it. I got you covered."
The slaves beamed. They weren't forgotten. Pablo remembered them.
Pablo didn't pay their happiness any mind and looked at the soldiers.
"Do it!" He ordered.
The soldiers nodded and shoved their hands inside the bracelets they were wearing in their non-dominant hands.
From them, they took out another set of weapons.
The soldiers carrying a sword took out another sword.
The soldiers carrying an ax took out another ax.
Like that, they brought out one more of their weapons.
The eight slaves didn't get it but Pablo would make sure they got it.
Each soldier was now holding two identical weapons in both their hands and soon, in unison, all of them let go of one of their weapons.
CLANK!
They all fell on the ground as steel and metal kissed the earth.
Before the slaves could raise their voice, Pablo raised his.
"Pick any weapon you like out of the hundreds being present here. I had asked the soldiers to pick two weapons for this event. You eight can go around and take a look at each of the weapons before choosing. Just make sure not to disturb them and no noise should come. Got it?"
The slaves had their brows raised and eyes wide as they didn't expect such a thing. They had never seen weapons and they had never thought that Pablo would give them so many options. At most, they were just glad that their master wasn't planning to use them as cannon fodder but now that they saw Pablo being serious about them… They had no words to spare.
"Speak!"
"YES!"
The slaves acted like the soldiers and started looking around the weapons.
The soldiers and the others let them be and the slaves also made sure not to make any kind of noise.
Now that the slaves part was done, Pablo focused on the soldiers who were ready with their weapons.
And for them, he had only one command.
"Fight."
