Chapter 380: I can
Pablo said the main thing.
Well, he said the same thing he had said on the receiver but with different words.
Instead of Gods, this time he said religion.
But the King showed the same reaction as he showed on the Receiver.
"What?"
The King exclaimed once more.
Pablo sighed.
Sera was beside him but she wasn't included in the talk. Her eyes were only on Pablo.
Andrezj and Cupid floated behind their respective Humans and when Andrezj heard what Pablo said, he jerked his head at Cupid.
Cupid knew what the male Angel wanted to ask so she just gestured to him to stay silent and listen to what Pablo would say further.
"Listen King, this world needs some Gods. And no, not the Gods people have made on their own. The true Gods. The Gods who made all of you and this world and this power called Ego. Those Gods are the real ones and they should be known to everyone."
"Why though? Even if no one knows about the real Gods, I see no problem. And who is gonna decide which God is real and which is not? And most of the people don't even care about Gods. They think they are the Gods themselves."
The King shared his views and Pablo figured it would be like this. He couldn't just say that he wanted to create Gods to fulfill his mission and he also couldn't say that this world is full of evil and to eradicate it Gods are needed.
The King wouldn't care about the evil world. He was the King himself.
Of course, Pablo could just order the King to accept his request but he needed the full cooperation of the King on his own will, otherwise Pablo wasn't the type of man to convince someone about something anyway.
"You are right about people thinking of themselves as Gods. But that's why we need Gods. Listen, if we introduce Gods among the subjects, and if it worked, then controlling them would be a piece of cake."
"How?"
"Just think about it. When they start praying to Gods and when their prayers are fulfilled, they would be complete believers in the Gods. And that's when we can make them anything we want in the name of Gods. Sounds good?"
The King placed his finger on his chin. He stared at the floor for a while until he looked at Pablo again.
"That does sound good. But I still don't get it. Why the sudden need of Gods? You are living as you wish for a while now. I am the King. I can control people right now too. I can give you anything you want as well. And most importantly, how do you know about the Gods? You have been saying true gods, true gods for a while now. How do you know the true gods?"
'This guy is asking too many questions. Should I do it my way?'
'No. You will only make the Gods' job harder. I know I had promised I won't say anything about your work but this concerns the Gods. So I can say what I want.'
Pablo exhaled.
He leaned forward again and looked the King in the eye.
The King twitched.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Nothing. It seems you have forgotten our situation. Who I am and who you are. Shall I remind you?"
The King gulped. "I am just talking like a normal person, Pablo. I have nothing personal against you. You want to create Gods? Go ahead. You have my full support."
"I don't want you to do this out of your fear of me. I want you to do this on your own will. Otherwise, you won't do effective work."
"No. No. I will do it well. Whatever you say will happen. If you had thought about creating Gods then you must be right. Create all the ten Gods. Just say the word and I will do whatever you say."
Pablo smiled.
"Good for you then."
He leaned back and the King heaved a sigh of relief.
Then, Pablo stood up.
The King left his seat as well.
"Are you ready to do it?" Pablo asked.
"Yes. Yes. I am."
"Alright. Here's what you need to do now."
Pablo put his hand around the King's shoulder and explained what he wanted the ruler to do.
The King heard every word clearly and with utmost attention. He wanted no mistakes to happen, especially not from his side.
As Pablo explained his plan, the King went through different phases of shock and he could only feel amazed by Pablo's brain.
Even if the King lived a hundred lives, he would still not be able to think like Pablo who was only just in his twenties.
Nevertheless, the King also knew Pablo could kill him if he ever came in his way so he would just oblige whatever Pablo orders him like a good loyalist.
After fifteen minutes, Pablo finished talking and not only the King, Andrezj also stared at Pablo with wide eyes.
Pablo ignored them both and slumped on the sofa for some rest.
"Here, dear. Have some water."
"Thanks."
Pablo took the glass of water from Sera and drank it.
'That's the first normal thing she did since I met her.'
'She had done many normal things.' Cupid defended Sera.
'Like what?'
'Like looking over you, being jealous with Hena and wanting to kiss you.'
'All of this is normal?'
'Yes. It is! That's as normal as it can get.'
'Maybe.'
Pablo stopped talking with the Angel and looked at the King.
The royal was still standing, gawking at Pablo and Andrezj also gestured to Cupid about the things that Pablo had said to the king a few minutes ago.
Sensing everyone's gaze, Pablo sighed.
"What is it?"
The King snapped out of the staring contest and sat down in front of Pablo.
"Don't take it the wrong way, Pablo. I will do everything you have asked for, but I have only one question."
"Hmm. I am listening."
The King gulped and asked:
"Why are you doing this?"
At that, Pablo turned his head at the empty space behind Sera.
Andrezj also locked eyes with Pablo and instead of answering the King, Pablo answered the Angel:
"Because I can."
