Coin’s Edge: Reincarnated as a Extra

Chapter 73: ‘’L-e-t m-e go.’

Then, for some reason, the tracking coin wandered around the Wolfe Clan for several days. Eventually, it seemed like it was about to leave the area entirely. Judging by the direction it took, it seemed to be heading toward one of the nearby Empires.

Everything was really strange, so Kevin ordered his butler to approach and track the target.

And if he showed even a hint of strangeness, to bring him here immediately.

Yet, the moment Kevin met the young man, his expression slowly twisted in confusion.

Sitting on the elegant stone bench, Kevin calmly sipped a cup of tea with his eyes closed, as usual.

A few seconds passed.

Then he gently set the cup down on the table and spoke in a soft tone:

"Who are you?"

A simple question, sometimes.

"Urghh! Ah, sorry. I've just been through the worst days of my life, so I can't control my mouth," Tyrone said awkwardly, quickly swallowing his cake.

"Ehm! Sorry for the tho—uh, I mean, I lost my manners."

A brief silence followed as he continued.

"My name is Tyrone! Just Tyrone. And you can call me Tyrone." He replied politely, bowing slightly toward Kevin, who barely noticed it.

"I see, Mr. Tyrone. Can you explain why you've been lingering around the grounds of my clan?" Kevin asked in a neutral tone.

"Ah, well... to be honest, everything is really complicated." Tyrone scratched the side of his head and smiled awkwardly.

His mind was filled with thoughts.

'Fuck! How did I get caught by a Wolfe as soon as I escaped that damn prison?' he cursed inwardly.

'I ran as far as I could to reach the Velmoria Empire, but I didn't expect to run into something like this.'

Tyrone exhaled deeply and tried to choose his words carefully, making each one as precise as possible.

"But before that, could you introduce yourself? I need to know your identity. And… Do you know someone named Haley? I also want to know what kind of relationship you two have."

Kevin squinted for a moment but remained sincere with Tyrone.

"I'm Kevin Wolfe. I don't think I need much of an introduction, my reputation speaks for itself."

"And as for Haley..."

"I know him. And yes, our relationship was terrible."

Still, Tyrone doubted Kevin's words.

"Can I really believe that?"

"Tsk. And why would I need to lie?" Kevin replied lightly.

"After all, the only one here who might be lying... is you."

A silence settled between them as Tyrone grimaced, running through every possibility in his mind.

Eventually, he made up his mind.

Tyrone told Kevin everything—or at least, part of it. Half of what he said was true; the rest, a web of lies.

It was all just a way to manipulate Kevin.

"Well, I was surprised that Haley would do that," Kevin nodded, eyes still closed. But by now, his expression had twisted slightly with unease at everything he had just heard.

Then, still with his eyes shut tightly, he addressed Tyrone again.

"Why were you able to escape from that prison? That is my final question."

"Well… that's a long tale." Tyrone leaned back comfortably as he continued his half-lie, half-truth.

"I escaped from that f*ing place all thanks to a partner. He sacrificed himself so that my group and I could run. But we ran into the jailers at the final path to the exit… and everyone died, except me."

Tyrone started to get emotional as he reached that part of the story, a few tears dripping from his eyes.

A few seconds passed in silence. Even if Kevin couldn't see the tears clearly, he could feel it behind them.

And all of it was just tears of pretense.

He lightly stroked his chin for a moment, thinking over Tyrone's words before fully grasping their meaning.

"Tsk, everything is really complex."

"And your story is really complex. You're very clever."

"I suppose you must have prepared many plots just to lie to me about everything."

"W-What do you mean? It's all true, I swear!" Tyrone protested, clearly shaken.

He swallowed his saliva in bewilderment while glancing nervously at Kevin.

"What the hell! How the damn blind guy could figure out I'm lying?"

The truth was very different from Tyrone's words.

His plan had been crafted with careful precision.

He had used an enhanced skill coin—something that had once trapped him inside the prison, but in the end, it had been worth it.

He discovered the prison's exit thanks to the first skill on the coin.

He had all the abilities of a wolf, yet the first skill was too weak for him to escape the prison alone, so he gathered many partners to flee.

And Hector was one of them.

He had chosen those he believed could help him escape... all thanks to his ability. After all, he was a merchant—a trader with a talent for investment.

But things hardly went according to plan.

All his companions died—and he nearly did too. But he survived by accident, triggering the second skill and activating his regeneration ability.

It turned out his healing powers could even rival Hector's... No, he thought it was stronger than Hector's.

Even so, he had no clear idea of it—or perhaps he had always buried it deep within his mind.

No one knew, not even the jailers who routinely conducted trials on the prisoners.

So, everything became strangely simple. He only needed to pretend to be a corpse until the jailers left.

However, even after surviving the slaughter, he still couldn't escape the prison—he didn't have the strength to fight the monsters guarding the exit.

Eventually, it was the second skill that helped him again.

He suddenly gained the ability to transform into a wolf—and he used it.

He rampaged through all the monsters behind the portal.

And as for the pocket—and the relationship between Hector and Kevin—Tyrone barely trusted any of it.

It was just hard to believe that a common human could have a relationship with one of the big clans.

He understands clearly more than anyone, after all, he himself had witnessed my family to be destroyed by a big clan.

All in all, he would simply use the money Hector had given him, ignoring all of Hector's requirements.

Everything would have been peaceful then—If only he hadn't run into these damn Wolfes again.

"Sigh... You should watch your mouth. You're wasting my time," Kevin said coldly, pointing his fingers toward his eyes.

Then, he suddenly opened his right eye—revealing a golden-plated iris.

"I can see all your lies through this eye."

A chill shot down Tyrone's spine. He stepped back instinctively, eyes wide.

"Damn! I should've been more careful... This f*ing clan is worse than dealing with others."

At this glance, His voice turned deeper, harsher, more unhinged.

Tyrone's body began to grow, larger and taller, until he reached nearly three meters.

His skin turned into rough, gray fur like dust-stained wool.

His mouth, arms, and claws lengthened—now clearly resembling those of a wolf, though his body still held a human shape. Perhaps one could call him a werewolf.

His eyes burned crimson, overflowing with mana that shook the atmosphere around him.

His back hunched, and the torn scraps of clothing, shattered by the pressure of his expanding torso, scattered to the ground as he glared at Kevin like a predator eyeing easy prey.

He opened his maw, snarling at Kevin as a thick, vicious drool dripped between his fangs.

''L-e-t m-e go.'
