Coin’s Edge: Reincarnated as a Extra

Chapter 45: Addiction of hugs

"..."

"It's so good…" Hector slightly released a long breath while hugging the soft, warm object comforting him.

It might have been the first time he had ever slept so happily, so he hugged the object even tighter—until someone by him whimpered.

"Hh?" Hector slowly opened his eyes, glancing around while lying in bed.

"Oh, shit!..."

When he slowly lowered his head, he recognized that the "object" he was hugging onto his chest with both arms was actually a young girl.

That girl was Violet!

At that moment, she clung to him tightly. Just from the look of satisfaction on her face, he could tell how much she wanted to keep hugging him. She drooled onto Hector's chest, even smiling occasionally, and was as if savoring some exquisite dish.

If he were an ordinary man—a perverted one like so many others—he might have felt delighted. But he couldn't. Instead, a strange wave of guilt washed over him, a guilt without any clear reason, yet heavy like a sin.

"N-Nooo…" Hector mumbled in terror.

"What happened?... I remember she was sleeping on the sofa in my room, not here…''

As he looked at Violet's beautiful face and felt the softness of a girl's body overwhelming his hands, he barely managed to suppress his trembling.

He could feel her entire skin through the contact between them.

''She doesn't even wear thicker outfits?....his nightdress is too thin! ''

His chest rose and fell rapidly with each breath.

Trying to control his emotions in this dangerous situation, countless thoughts flooded his mind as he struggled to find a way to resolve this.

''....''

"No! I shouldn't do anything… If I wake her up by doing something stupid… something bad will happen."

Hector sighed out of habit, but immediately regretted it as his breath brushed against Violet's face.

She instantly grimaced in discomfort for a point, while Hector held his breath, mentally cursing his own foolishness.

A few seconds later, Violet's expression softened again, and she unconsciously buried her face deeper into Hector's chest, which had remained completely still since that moment.

"This is bad! I can't breathe…" Hector narrowed his eyes, trying to control the movement of his chest to reduce the chance of waking her up.

Unfortunately, Violet only tightened her embrace, clinging to him with all her strength.

"N-No…"

At that moment, Hector couldn't hold it in any longer—he let out a long, deep breath, causing his chest to expand and pushing Violet slightly away.

For a while, everything remained still.

Finally, Violet slowly opened her sleepy eyes and stared at Hector for a while.

''...''

A silence for later.

''G-Good morning…''

Bam!

Immediately, Hector was kicked out of his own bed, even though it was his.

"W-What are you doing here, you idiot?!" Violet shouted, her voice trembling with panic. She clutched the blanket tightly around herself, pressing her back against the corner of the bed.

"Wait… Calm down…," Hector said in a low tone, slowly getting up.

"Honestly, I don't know anything. As soon as I woke up, I saw you. Besides, this is my bed, not yours."

"You should check your memory from yesterday…"

At that moment, Violet finally managed to regain control of her chaotic emotions and tried to recall what had happened. Her face gradually turned as red as a tomato.

"Y-You're right…," Violet admitted, embarrassed.

"Last night was too cold, so I had to find a warm place…" She glanced away, avoiding Hector's gaze out of embarrassment.

"Cold? It's odds… You're a member of the Pauley Clan, aren't you? You specialize in using ice, right?" Hector furrowed his brows in confusion, then stepped forward to pick up his uniform while asking.

"…" Violet remained silent, merely hugging the blanket tighter, refusing to answer Hector's question.

However, Hector was smart enough to notice this, so he sighed while smoothing out the wrinkles in his clothes.

"My fault!… Starting tomorrow, I'll sleep on the sofa. You can take my bed… I probably should have done that in the first place."

He thought to himself, "This is bad… I had hoped she'd give up if she had to sleep there… I need to keep my distance from her.''

''Tsk! I feel I like a fuking pedophile.''

Under the noisy atmosphere, the students' sounds echoed chaotically over the training yard.

It was a place where students were trained under the supervision of their instructors.

At the edge of the training yard, two students were still exchanging rapid strikes.

"So, you've grown stronger..."

A weak voice rang out for a moment.

"Yeah, I guess so..." Hector responded, steadily blocking a kick from an unseen direction—Bam's attack.

Tap. Tap.

Hector continuously moved his feet on the ground, leaping a few arcs while effortlessly avoiding Bam's strikes.

Each of his steps was professional, like a work of art—a true martial artist.

It was the result of months of grueling training in hell alongside his instructor.

"Sigh..." Bam sighed once again, just like every time. Then, he stopped his movements and spoke in a tired voice.

"I'm bored... You've gained enough strength to defeat me. You don't need me to practice anymore."

"Huh?" Hector suddenly grimaced upon hearing that.

Without hesitation, he ran toward Bam, his expression filled with confusion as he tried to stay calm.

Bam shrugged his shoulders before letting out a sigh.

"Our goals are different. You just want to become stronger, but I don't care about things like that. I know that I'll never pass the second challenge because of my illness… so I focus on my research instead."

"After today, I won't practice with you anymore, nor will I go there again."

At some point, something flashed through Bam's mind. He turned to Hector with a serious expression.

"Don't forget your promise."

"We will meet again in one month in my laboratory."

A moment of silence followed. Hector quietly nodded, but a lingering question remained in his mind.

"So... what exactly do I have to do?"

"You'll find out in one month. For now, just train hard—unless you want to die."

"Huh?... What do you mean?" Hector's eyes widened in confusion and shock.

"Die? Does he want me to do something dangerous?" he thought.

Bam glanced at Hector one last time before sighing again and heading toward the exit.

"You'll understand when the time comes. But for now, just focus on yourself."
