Inside the darkness, the stone room was coated with dampness and layers of sweet water.

No noise.

No humans.

No creatures.

Only the figure of a battered young man, his hands chained and stretched toward both sides of the damp stone wall.

Finally, the young man slowly opened his weary eyes. He remained standing, though his arms were suspended above him.

"Where am I…?" He tried to move his body, but it was no use.

His gaze shifted to his restrained hands, and he struggled to adjust his posture, hoping to relieve the pressure from the chains.

After a while, he fully grasped his situation.

He remembered losing consciousness as blood had poured from the vertical wounds on his chest.

Then, he vaguely recalled the voice of an instructor speaking to him—though the words barely carried any kindness.

He assumed that bastard had wanted to tear him apart.

"Sigh… Luckily, I survived. The academy's rules are always something else…"

He exhaled deeply before looking toward the exit of the stone chamber that confined him.

"Am I being prepared for something special? At the very least, I should gain something from all of this…"

Hector once again sank deep into his thoughts, the memories resurfacing as if breaking through the surface of his mind.

It was nothing short of a miracle.

From now on, he could only hope that fate would bless him with some luck.

Footsteps echoed loudly through the murky, desolate basement, drawing Hector's attention and making him open his eyes faintly.

"I hope he's bringing me something else to eat… I'm tired of eating apples."

Hector slowly lifted his head, looking at the young man ahead.

And, immediately, his expression was surprised.

''Kevin?''

Kevin still closed his eyes every time…and his face was always cold and non-emotional.

''I feel you always meet sorts of troubles in this life,'' Kevin said with an icy tone.

''And what to, by the way, you also always survive.''

Hector grimaced in the waves of confusion and then asked in a while.

''What do you mean?''

Yet, Kevin simply answered and calmed

''Don't worry…You'll pry the chain off and get out of this prison soon.''

Kevin glanced around with his eyes closed for a moment. Then, he sighed, turned away, and walked out, leaving Hector with countless unanswered questions.

"I'm getting out of here? Why? Hey! What's happening outside?"

Hector shouted powerlessly in frustration, his voice echoing through the bank's basement. But Kevin simply left without uttering a single word of explanation.

Two days later, Hector was finally released—only to be hit with shocking news that he could hardly believe.

Five instructors had mysteriously vanished overnight.

Perhaps this event could have been concealed, but it was simply too serious—especially when all of these instructors had left behind their severed hands. That alone proved that the mastermind wanted everyone to know about it.

This urgent matter needed to be resolved immediately, with no hesitation and no indecision.

"See? I'll protect you!" Violet puffed out her chest with pride and strode forward confidently alongside Hector.

"So… where are we going now?" Violet blinked her seductive eyes and asked Hector in an innocent, girlish voice.

Hector answered instantly but felt a slight hesitation deep inside.

"I'm going home to read my book and go to sleep."

"That's too boring! Do you ever do anything besides reading books?" Violet yelled angrily, though her voice still carried a hint of cuteness.

"No… A kid like you could never understand the value of reading books and what they can bring you!" Hector rebutted sharply, pointing a finger to the side of his head, subtly implying Violet's lack of intelligence.

"Y-You… I'm not a kid… You're an old man!"

Violet quickly lifted her head, glaring aggressively at Hector, who was two heads taller than her, her eyes filled with nothing but anger and discontent

"You just wait! I'll grow up quickly, and you'll see."

"I… will be gorgeous and sexy."

Looking at Violet's current grumpy yet lovely appearance, Hector just smiled and lightly shook his head, unable to hide his shaking hands.

'So bad… just a little more, and I would have rubbed her head."

''Sigh!... I don't desire to be grasped in the throat again..''

Then, Hector shrugged his shoulders lightly and looked in another direction, not bothering to refute Violet's words.

In reality, he also guessed that Violet would indeed become beautiful in a few years. He was certain of that.
