Chapter 402: D-23 Show! (2/2)
Only when the song was over did the people finally return to their senses. This group was so good! They gazed at their surroundings, giving wry smiles as they saw their neighbors as impressed.
"I hope you all enjoyed it." The leader shyly voiced, internally chuckling as she saw their entranced state. Even without using mind magic, she had that effect on people.
She rejoiced, knowing her status in their hearts had just changed from regular idol to goddess, she was sure of it!
But there was just one thing missing….
Where the hell was the legendary Josh?! Was he voluntarily being mysterious? He had to be watching from the shadows, right? She simply had to give it her all!
She made sure to show her best side, her movements more elegant than ever before, using 200% of the charm she could muster. She would enrapture him for sure!
.
.
.
"Hey, isn't it slightly noisy?" Josh raised a brow.
"A bit, but joy is a good thing anyway. Let them have fun." The Elder shrugged.
The teacher was still bathed in a faint golden halo that gave him a regal aura. Was it some kind of ability from his class?
+ Focus!
+ Feeling refreshed!
= Actual Fun Studying Time!
That ability made that guy's classroom as relaxing as a day at the spa. What kind of crazy concept was this! Wouldn't there be no bad students if they could just clone him?
But his thought suddenly froze as he checked his UW.
"H-hey, I think something's wrong." Josh suddenly exclaimed.
"What is it?"
"Look at the time! It's tomorrow already!"
No wonder it had felt like a day at the spa: It really had been a day! They had completely missed the show! "I gotta go! Thanks for the help!" Josh shouted as he ran out.
Summoning, summoning, summoning, that was all that was on his mind. He rushed toward the gigantic stage in the middle of D-23, just in time to catch the end.
Perfect timing! After all, he didn't care much about the show or the group itself. He just had to find that one girl. He swaggered on the stage, all eyes turning toward him.
"Ah! He's here! He's finally here!"
"The founder's finally shown himself!"
They all clapped, cheering louder than humanly possible. Poor idols: a guy getting more cheers than their entire performance simply by showing up. Hopefully, they wouldn't take it to heart.
He quickly observed the six members, slightly frowning as he failed to locate the summoner he wanted as a teacher. The group leader was obvious, so he headed toward her.
At this moment, many couldn't help but exclaim in shock.
They glanced at the glowing goddess-looking idol. Long flowing golden hair, a body worth dying for, and most importantly a face so perfect it seemed as if sculpted by the gods.
Her beauty and talent were sufficient to move any man…or rock even. She was that amazing! Did this mean he had a thing for singers?
They watched him approach akin to a prince while holding their breaths. Meanwhile, the target of his attention felt her heart beating so fast it was about to explode.
Success!
Her performance had obviously entranced him! What if he asked her to marry him right here and now? She should accept, right?!
He looked so valiant, handsome, and was evidently a great man! But most importantly, he was loaded!
Then he finally reached her, his chiseled jaw moving as he peered straight into her soul. "Pink Lotus, would you—" There it was! There it was!!! "— you help me find this person?"
"YES! — Wait…what?!" The goddess blanked.
The lovestruck prince was not lovestruck at all. He was calmly showing her a picture…of that one summoner in their crew?! WTF?!
That girl wasn't plain, she was extra plain! Her summoning was showy, but that was about it. She suddenly felt like the world had just turned upside down, and she couldn't understand it.
She finally regained her spirits as she shakily pointed toward the side, toward the girl with the hood. Following her finger, all eyes turned toward that one poor girl.
"W-what? M-me?!" She yelped In shock.
Josh rushed to her side, grabbing her hands excitingly. "You, you're the one I've been waiting for!"
Say WHAT?! How had she attracted Josh's attention?! More importantly, who the hell was she?! Some knew that she was with the group, but even then, she wasn't that well known.
Waiting for?! That was possibly the cheesiest line in the book. 'Oh beautiful lady, you're the one I've been waiting for my whole life, I just didn't know it— or something like that.'
"?!?" Many brains stopped working at that moment.
But just as the poor girl was the center of the attention, that one idol that disliked her sneaked behind her, grinning evilly as she yanked her hood down.
That's when her face was finally revealed. No, it wasn't a face but a pustulent abomination that was clearly unnatural.
She hurriedly put her hood back on, but it was already too late. She felt anger, but most importantly shame. Everyone had seen her atrocious face, one corrupted by an evil curse.
She turned to see the looks of repulsion of the people around and…there were none?! They all looked at her like they hadn't just seen her disgusting side. What?!
She opened her mouth wide, stupefied.
"Y-you all…"
Sensing her confusion, a few Climbers in the front row guffawed loudly.
"Is it about your face? Hehe, not to brag, but I'm a man that has eaten shit! Something like that doesn't scare me one bit!"
"Pfft— Brag? Do you even have the right to brag?! I've eaten more shit than you ever will in your entire life!" In the background, many voices reverberated, eager to "brag".
The people from D.L. couldn't help but laugh as they gazed at the shellshocked idols. That previous brag had to seem strange to anyone not in the know!
The young summoner suddenly felt like she was in a dream. She had been a monster ever since the accident, but she was accepted here. She had to fight really hard not to break down in happy tears.
It had to be because of him.
Josh MF Malum, the one who had invited her here.
He had obviously instructed his men not to cause a ruckus once they saw her face. That was the only explanation!
"W-what can I do for you?" She nervously asked.
"Teach me summoning! The sooner the better: it's a matter of life and death!"
She felt how much this mattered to him. There was resolve behind his dark eyes. The sooner, the better? Alright, she could do that!
"Summoning consist into—…." She didn't hesitate and began her lecture on the spot. She had never taught before, but she would do her best for his sake.
One spoke, and one listened. This should have been incredibly boring, right? Yet, for some reason, the attendance was actually increasing!
"Hell yeah! We can finally witness his training!"
"He'll break another record, haha."
"Of course!
What was up with that excitement?! The idols were still at a complete loss. What was wrong with this place?! Wait...was it because of that weird golden glow surrounding him?
"G-guys. Wouldn't being near the stage be dangerous?"
"Oh….good call!!"
The masses moved a few hundred meters backward. Hopefully, this would be enough, right, right?!
