Chapter 28: Getting Levels, as Well as Free Money!
(Celia’s POV)
The numbers of Goblins had only increased by the tens of minutes, but I was more than able to keep up with their pace. At first, Marin was shaking in her boots, but now, she was just waiting for me to get done, trying to stay awake. The girl now even looked to be quite bored…
To be fair to Marin, nothing exciting has happened in over an hour. The ground was covered in blood and Goblin gore, but Marin was still clean as can be. At this point, the woman was clearly confident of my abilities.
Not to mention, but while I killed the Goblins, their focus was fully on me. Marin took this as an easy chance to harvest some Goblin ears. Which greatly saved me the time of doing that myself later.
Or, at least, that is what she is thinking. Saren and her mother funds me fully, so I really have no reason to do something like collect Goblin ears. I was just on this quest for levels, not money, after all. Anyway, when will these Goblins end?
Celia: “How… m-many Goblins live in a n-nest?” I ask, slashing my sword over and over again, reaping a Goblin with each slash that I make.
Marin: “It depends, but considering that no special Goblins have appeared, it is a small nest. At most, you will have to kill a little over a hundred of them.” She answered, cutting a Goblin’s ears off.
Celia: “Darn…” I reply with a sigh.
Well, nothing left to do, other than just kill them all until the green flood stops gushing out of this forest. I do feel somewhat bad, though. With these Goblins, I will surely be getting a decent number of levels up…
A Few Hours Later.
Marin: “…”
Celia: “…”
The green forest was… well, it was now pretty red. The smell was horrible, but I could deal with it. Marin couldn’t, though. Now, I wonder how many levels up I got from this little accidental Goblin crusade?

Celia: “???”
What the fuuuuuuuuuuuck!? Huh!!? No, really, what the flying fuck? My required EXP per level is still so low, and my Stats are already so damn high… This is more shocking than, even though my domain is on my Status, it doesn’t do anything right now. Faith… please explain!
Faith: “What is there to be surprised about?” Was what she nonchalantly answered.
Celia: “…”
Faith: “Do you think that Sava’s water’s effect was gone? No. It is attached to your soul, so even in a new weak body like this, you receive the benefits from it. This is amazing and gives us a super good edge over the competition!” She explained, probably from seeing me be still confused to all hell.
Celia: “Ah, I see…” I reply.
So… I leveled up a few times from just one or two Goblins, which was why I felt like killing them was so damn easy. Now I truly do feel bad, as I, a high level human, just grinded the fuck out of some extremely low level Gobs…
Marin: “Hey, with the Goblins dead, why don’t we find their nest?” She proposed.
Celia: “To find survivors?” I assume.
Marin: “Of course. Plus… they might pay us in return!” She said with an excited tone.
Damn poor girl, always thinking about how to make money… It’s almost like she had forgotten that I was just with her on this quest once, and not forever in the future. How poor is she, really? No. With the reward for this quest, I can easily make a guess.
Celia: “You want to do it for coin???” I reply in shock.
Marin: “Why not? We should be rewarded for our efforts!” She said with an assured tone.
Celia: “And why can’t you be happy with the coin you’ll gain from the Goblin ears?” I reply with a raised eyebrow.
Marin: “What do you mean? These are yours to sell, not mine.” She replied with a head tilt.
Celia: “As I have said before, I am really not in need of any coin. Keep them to sell later.” I reply.
Marin: “…Really?” She asked.
Celia: “Yes, just keep them.” I repeat.
Staring at me for a bit, the girl then started to happily jump up and around, looking very excited and gleeful at the moment. Damn… she must have been even poorer than I expected her to be… How long are you going to do that for, Marin?…
Lots of Marin Jubilation Later.
Marin: “Celia, I will be honest… I am very impressed.” She said with an oddly serious tone.
Celia: “How so?” I reply.
Marin: “You dealt with those Goblins with such ease… I am actually starting to doubt that you even need experience in the first place.” She answered.
Celia: “It has been a while since I’ve fought, so I wasn’t sure if I still had it in me. This little Goblin slaughter proves that I am not rusty in the least.” I happily reply.
Following small footprints, Marin and I were trying to find the now emptied of Goblins, Goblin nest. With the extreme war that I waged on them, they didn’t try to casually or carefully reach our position. As such, there was an easily apparent path the rushing Goblins took, and we just have to follow it.
Marin: “Rusty? Aren’t you younger than me? You can’t be older than 17 years of age.” She said with an unsure tone.
Celia: “Despite my looks, I am old enough to be your mother, Marin. In fact, I am 37.” I reply with a laugh.
Marin: “…”
Celia: “…”
Marin: “…”
Celia: “?”
Marin: “You aren’t joking… Oh, Goddess! Did you take some potion that stops your aging!? Goddess… I hope that I’ll look this good at your age…” She said, lapping on praise after praise.
Hm… this feels good. Having a young girl praise my beauty, even due to my age, is very, very nice. Marin, you might not end up as my wife or daughter, but I’ll at least highly rate your ability to praise me. Now, please do it even more!
