Celestial X Grimoire (DXD Celestial Grimoire)

Chapter 14: Chapter 14.

I was still somewhat reeling from the fact that my fellow students were Devils, but upon seeing that strange crimson energy in Rias' hands… I could tell that it was something dangerous. I don't know why I knew that, but I knew that if I got hit by it and the Bonewood Staff didn't nullify it? I'd be completely and utterly screwed.

So I believed it would be a good idea to at least attempt to calm them down, mostly because I did not want to get hit by that ball of death that she was currently in the middle of creating.

"Please, calm yourselves. I was merely defending the Hyoudou family, running interference on the Fallen that decided to attack my student." I told the two teenage Devils… wait were they teenagers? Or were they like a hundred years old and cosplaying as schoolgirls, because if so? that's fucking weird.

"Your… student? Are you implying that one of the Hyoudou's is a magician?" Gremory-san asked, as she stared at me as if she was trying to see any hint of deceit coming from me.

Glancing over to Koneko, I saw that she was tilting her head over to the side ever so slightly, a small curious look on her usually expressionless face.

"Yes, young Ryuuji is a rather capable magician. Now though, I do wonder… what exactly were you doing here? Are you attempting to steal my apprentice? Because I'll have you know, I don't take too kindly to thieves." I said, my eyes glowing a menacing mixture of red and purple as Ember let out a small gout of flame, causing me to look like an incredibly intimidating flaming lich.

And of course, due to this they both tensed up somewhat, looking as if they were once again ready for a fight to break out.

"I- no, we were just here to ensure the Fallen didn't target Tomo- the Sacred Gear Wielder," Gremory-san informed me, though she didn't drop her guard, "It's our role as the Owners of Kuoh, to defend the people in our city after all."

"Hmm… of course, of course." I hummed as I scratched my chin, hiding the fact that I had no real idea what they were talking about.

What did they mean they 'owned' Kuoh? I remembered Father Anderson saying something about this being 'Devil Territory' but that just didn't make much sense to me.

"Now, Mr… Lich? Tell me, what are you doing in our territory without our permission?" Gremory-san asked, a threatening tone to her voice as she stared at me with suspicion.

If I had an eyebrow, I would be quirking it right now… but instead, I was basically staring blankly at the two young women in front of me.

"Without your permission? I assumed I'd had it, due to you not running me off… I have been here for seventeen years. How did you not know I was here? It's not as if I hid my presence." I told them after a moment, causing Gremory-san's face to flush ever so slightly, while Koneko's eyes widened.

"W-what do you mean by that? You've been here for almost twenty years!? How- what!? How didn't you get found!?" She asked after a moment, her crimson ball of sheer destructive energy dissipating in her shock.

Which was such a pity, I was actually kind of looking forward to examining it and how exactly that energy of hers worked, that sort of thing could have been useful.

I had noticed how it was destroying the air around it after all, and if that hit me? I was fairly sure that I'd have been killed if it struck true.

"I don't know what to tell you. I've been living here for nearly exactly seventeen years- nobody has harrassed me over this." I said rather casually, as she furrowed her brow.

"…Then that means you must have had some sort of prior relationship with the previous owner, Cleria Belial. You must have, in order to have been able to originally enter the territory." She said after a moment, as Koneko stayed by her side, seemingly prepared for a sneak attack.

"Ah yes… Cleria Belial… how is she?" I asked after a moment, having literally no idea what she was talking about.

But I wasn't about to let her know that, giving up the advantage of appearing to be an 'elderly lich who has been here for quite some time.'… but from the strange look she gave me, I was pretty sure that I had made a mistake.

"She'd dead." She told me rather plainly.

"Ah, that's a shame… truly, truly a shame." I said rather unconvincingly, even to my own ears.

"…You had no idea she was dead, did you?" She asked, as she quirked an eyebrow inquisitively.

"I had absolutely no clue. I've been rather preoccupied as you see." I said, taking the easy out, and holding onto it for dear life.

"Yes, hmm… I've heard that some liches spend so much time in their laboratories, creating new spells and such. To the point that they could spend over a decade inside without meaning to." Gremory-san said after a few seconds, giving me a slight shrug.

"Yes, yes. I was rather busy… now, I would rather like it if I was able to return to my studies." I said as I started to walk away, watching as she gave me a nod.

"Of course, of course. May I ask where your lair is? So that we can get a proper report of what happened here later?" She asked, causing me to pause mid-step.

Wait, what did she just ask me? Where my 'lair' was?… For a good hard second, I thought of lying and telling her that my lair was in Kuoh Academy or something along those lines.

But instead, I had what I believed to be a better idea.

"Hmm…" I paused, as I turned around and looked at both of the Devils, "You are asking a lich to tell you where their sanctum sanctorum is. Are you endlessly optimistic? Or are you just highly naive?"

"I- well, I think it's good to be optimistic, right?" She asked with a forced grin, but I could see her eye twitching… I guess that I must have annoyed her with that question.

"Not to the point of asking a lich such an idiotic question." I said, causing her to slump down, a look of despair on her face.

"Hmm… Buchou is stupid." Koneko spoke up, causing Gremory-san to flinch as if she was struck, "But she's a good person."

"Th-thank you, Koneko-chan…" Gremory-san said pitifully as she slowly rose back up.

"I'll be the judge of that." I snorted as I stared at the two young women before me, "Now, am I free to leave?"

"…Yes, yes you are, just- just don't hurt anyone in my territory, alright?" Gremory-san asked sweetly, though the crimson energy that manifested around her hands implied that it was not a request.

"Of course, Lady Gremory. I wouldn't think of such a thing…" I told her, before I flew up into the air, and donned the invisibility cloak before having Ember let out a massive gout of fire from my ribcage that enveloped the area all around me.

And while they were distracted by the large amount of flames, I dropped the Sama Barrier, unsummoned Ember, turned back into my human form, and flew as fast as I possibly could into the back garden before taking the cloak off.

Hopefully, they wouldn't have noticed all of that, with my sudden distraction.

I slowly stood up in the garden, cracked my back a bit and walked towards the laundry door, opening it up with relative ease.

And then I found that Mom slumped over against the washing machine unconscious.

"Mom? Mom, are you alright?" I asked, as I gently shook her, causing her to open her eyes, let out a tired yawn, and look over to me.

"Hmm? Ryuuji-kun? What are you doing here?… Oh wait, is this another of my dreams?" She asked curiously as she looked down at me, causing me to remember that I was still wearing the 'Lich Outfit', which exposed quite a bit of my torso.

I went to say something, but got distracted when Mom ran a finger along my chest, giving me what must have been some sort of... seductive look.

"Mmm~ You look yummy… do you wanna play with mommy?" She asked me with a lewd little grin, which really reminded me of Tomoko. Huh, I guess that's where she got that from.

"I- I, uh… no?" I said after a moment, as I backed away from her, causing her to pause.

"That's… that's strange, usually in my dreams we'd already be… this isn't a dream is it?" She said after a moment, her eyes widening in shock as she stared at me, while I shook my head.

"Uh no, I don't think this is a dream, Mom. Maybe- maybe you should just lie down?" I asked, causing her to nod slightly.

"Yes. Yes, that would probably be for the best. I'm, I'm sorry Ryuuji-chan, I've just been… um tired, and I haven't been able to sleep due to what you do with- with Tomoko- and I should probably just go now..." She said in lieu of an actual explanation as she walked out of the laundry room.

I took a few moments to wait for her to leave, before I took a deep breath and leaned against the bench.

What the hell was that?

Did, did my mom just molest me? Wait, has she been able to hear me and Tomoko having sex this entire time!?

Oh god, oh fuck… no. No, keep it together Ryuuji. I have to focus on what's more important than my mother knowing about my incestuous acts with my little sister for now… the Devils, and making sure that Tomoko was fine. She might have fallen and hit her head or something after all.

I can decompress all of that other stuff later on, so with that in mind I walked into the living room, and I… I found Tomoko completely passed out, face first in her dragon nun's breasts.

The draconic nun looked over to me, as she stroked my sister's hair, giving me a slight glare.

"Hello there, brother of my mistress. Why have you come back?" She asked with a soft voice that still sounded dangerous, and I saw that her claws had sharpened quite a bit.

The Sundancer that was with her though, quickly flew over to me, a smile on her face as she sat on my shoulder.

I didn't even know that they could speak, but I could focus on that later.

"I'm here to make sure that Tomoko's safe." I said, causing the draconic nun to huff slightly.

"Mmmmnnf!!!" I heard Tomoko cry out from in between the dragon nun's breasts, giving me a thumbs up with one hand, while pawing away at her summon's tits with the other.

"…Alright never mind, she seems completely fine." I said with a small sigh, as I took the Costume Switch tag off returning to my Kuoh Academy Uniform.

Then I sat down on the couch, and nearly screamed at the sudden and painful influx of knowledge and power that flowed throughout my entire body.

Power of the Gods - MtG - Amonkhet - Modus (400 CP)

You stand above and beyond mere mortals, in more ways than one. While magical improvement is hard won for mortal mages, for you it really is as simple as applying more power. By channeling extra mana into said abilities, you may proportionally enhance them. Proportional to what you're capable of doing with that energy, that is. This operates even better when used to boost more advanced spells and mightier abilities, particularly those of divine or holy origins and natures, which ensures pursuing power the normal way will always be more efficient, but this ability allows you to improve with no upper limit. A spell to hurl a fireball could be made to fly further, burn hotter, and burn a larger area with extra mana. A spell normally applied via physical touch can be made to affect a distant target, or even multiple targets. Your magic can be made harder to counter and harder to resist. You can similarly augment your other supernatural abilities as well as items, even those from other worlds, though if they are fueled by power pools other than mana then you must use an appropriate type of energy. Those that do not require such fuel at all can be enhanced with mana, or with spiritual or magical energies from their home settings.

The Celestial Grimoire had granted me something… something that was absolutely game changing.

It gave me the ability to channel extra mana into my spells and abilities to greatly empower them. There was no limit to how much they could be enhanced, except for the amount of magic that I could pour into it.

I could enhance my spells like my Basic Elemental Zap, turning it from a simple 'zap' into a damn 'lightning bolt'… or maybe I could use it to empower my Summons?

And it wasn't just my spells, I could also enhance any magical item that I had… and there was no upper limit to how much they could be enhanced.

I'm pretty sure that I could also enhance my physical abilities, pouring mana into me to greatly increase my strength… though that would probably have to be practiced beforehand, as I wouldn't really want to risk blowing myself up.

One thing that was strange, was how it worked even better on anything with divine or holy natures… I didn't know any of those sort of spells, but it might be handy in the future.

This was, this was an absolutely amazing ability. Completely worth the headache that it gave me.

Looking back over at Tomoko and her Dragon Nun, I saw that she'd actually managed to pry herself off of her summon, and was currently giving me an annoyed glare.

But I wasn't able to do anything about that, as I heard the doorbell ringing, causing my sister to sit up straight in shock, as she stared at the front door.

Taking a quick look at myself, I made sure there wasn't anything suspicious on my body before I walked over and opened the door to see, as expected… Gremory-san and Koneko.

"Ah, hello there Ryuuji-kun. Can we come inside?" Gremory-san asked with a smile.

Glancing back to Tomoko, I saw her quickly trying to stuff the draconic nun into the closet but she was just too stacked to get inside properly as the closet door kept swinging open due to her massive tits.
