Catastrophe Containment Facility

Chapter 1150: Dream Sanctuary

Suddenly, a crack appeared in the void, and a bald man with buck teeth poked his head through.

Wen Wen's eyes lit up: "Is a Nightmare finally here? Come and torment me quickly, I'm very easy to torment."

The Nightmare licked its lips, its appetite urging it to rush into this dream and feast.

Suddenly, it saw an old man in a luxurious robe, holding a scepter and emitting a strong light. The old man smiled at it and said: "Praise my Lord, my Lord creates all things, and you are also a creation of my Lord..."

Wen Wen shouted a silent warning, but before he could act to stop it, the Nightmare was so frightened that its hair stood on end, and it immediately left Wen Wen's dreamscape.

A dream that's too strange isn't necessarily a good thing; even Nightmares dare not intrude into Wen Wen's dreams.

The title and image of a Catastrophe-Level Expert carry power, and even in a dream, they aren't something mere Nightmares can provoke.

Looking at the vast dreamscape filled with wandering Catastrophe Level Powerhouses, Wen Wen rubbed his hair helplessly, realizing he needed to find a way to lure the Nightmares in.

These Catastrophe-Level Powerhouses were born from Wen Wen. Although Wen Wen couldn't control them, they wouldn't attack him since Wen Wen didn't fear them. They were just background elements in his dream world.

Only by eliminating these backgrounds could the Nightmares dare to enter Wen Wen's dreamscape.

Before entering the dream, Mefna had nagged Wen Wen with some precautions. Although Wen Wen initially listened impatiently, some of that advice turned out to be quite useful.

Dreams are born from the dreamer, and much of what appears hinges on what the dreamer thinks at the time.

In other words, the dreamer's thoughts can, to some extent, influence the scenes within the dream.

The reason there are so many Catastrophe Level Powerhouses in Wen Wen's dreams is because he often interacts with entities of this level.

Besides the Dream Speaker, normal people find it difficult to control dreams, but Wen Wen had borrowed Mefna's power to remain conscious in the dream and attempt to alter its scenes.

He looked around, choosing Egger as a test subject, trying to remove Egger from his dreamscape. Despite using all his strength, he only made Egger's image appear more ferocious.

So Wen Wen changed tactics, deciding to block Egger from view, hoping the Nightmare wouldn't see him.

He attempted to erect walls around Egger, conjuring granite out of thin air to thoroughly conceal him.

For normal people, influencing even a glass of water in a dream requires rigorous training, but for a top-tier superpower user like Wen Wen, such feats weren't difficult.

However, the solid granite walls did not contain Egger. With a mere tremor of his body, all the walls crumbled to dust.

Even trapping Egger wasn't easy for Wen Wen, let alone other Catastrophe-Level Powerhouses.

After pondering for a while, inspiration suddenly struck Wen Wen, and he burst out laughing.

He began snapping his fingers rhythmically, like a series of claps.

With the snapping of his fingers, the dreamscape began to transform rapidly. Walls rose, fences appeared, and the previously absurd and fragmented dreamscape became orderly.

The positions of the wandering Catastrophe-Level Powerhouses were forcibly moved and eventually locked into cells.

Wen Wen had constructed a Sanctuary within his dreamscape!

The Sanctuary was a superpower construct Wen Wen was most familiar with. Transforming the dream into a Sanctuary was quite easy for him, and it could contain those wandering Catastrophe Level Powerhouses, preventing them from roaming freely in Wen Wen's dreamscape.

Wen Wen walked into the Central Area of the Dream Sanctuary, his consciousness enveloping the entire Sanctuary, waiting for the Nightmare's arrival.

After waiting for less than half an hour, Wen Wen noticed a change, as the atmosphere in the dreamworld inexplicably grew heavier.

The light and sound subtly shifted, creating an extremely oppressive mood, typically found in horror films.

Even when Wen Wen turned on the tap to wash his face, he worried that blood might flow out.

"It must be coming, it must be coming, little Nightmare, I've been waiting for you for a long time!" Wen Wen's lips curled into an exaggerated grin, like a seasoned Hunter spotting prey in a trap.

After the dream transformed into the shape of a Sanctuary, Wen Wen's ability to control the dreamscape strengthened significantly, allowing him to see every corner of the dream at any time.

He saw one after another, mummified figures dressed in silver-grey robes, sneaking into the Dream Sanctuary.

These Dream Monsters mostly wielded scythe-like grotesque weapons that alone could frighten ordinary people senseless, and wherever they appeared, there would be localized corrosion.

"These things must be the Dream Monsters Mefna mentioned. She said only higher-tier Nightmares could command Dream Monsters."

"Looks like this time, we're about to attract a big one."

As he contemplated, Wen Wen noticed Menglan, dressed provocatively, quietly manifesting from the air, with an expectant expression and a Dream Monster behind her holding a tray of fine tableware.

Wen Wen exclaimed in surprise: "Tsk... Do Nightmares come in this type? That's quite a 'big' one indeed."

After entering Wen Wen's dream, Menglan sniffed the air's scent.

"Ah... smells so fragrant, like a high-quality dream."

"My minions, go find the dreamer and give him a little scare."

"Someone with such a delectable dream, I can't devour him all at once. I must savor him bit by bit."

After driving away all the Dream Monsters, Menglan glanced around before walking over and taking a bite out of a wall.

For a Nightmare, everything in a dream could be consumed; however, they preferred the fear of the dreamer. In top-notch dreams like Wen Wen's, even common dream items held some value for Nightmares.

"Oh dear..." Menglan covered her mouth, tears welling in her eyes: "Why is everything in this guy's dream so hard? I've gnawed on diamonds before, but this is the first time I've encountered something I can't bite through."

"Alright, alright, since these things don't taste good anyway, I'll just go savor some fear instead."

Menglan didn't find the Sanctuary manifested within the dream to be unusual, as anything could appear in dreams, including one time when Shenlan encountered someone playing with the sun like a glass bead in a dream.

External objects in dreams hold no real significance; Nightmares need only concern themselves with the life within the dream.
