Chapter 74: We Do A Little Overclocking [PART 2]
Yu Tian calmly watched her approach, thinking to himself that he was still losing in raw physical power and energy due to his inferior cultivation.
Still, there was something he had yet to try out.
He looked at the number before him.
[100%]
He smiled. He'd been looking to get himself into this exact situation.
As he thought of this, red lines began appearing before him, floating in his vision just like his calculation ability. "So this is Battle Intent," he thought. It wasn't really that impressive.
Even so, it was a great help to him. Usually, he did lots of calculations to know the best possible move, but with this, he could narrow down the initial pool first. Although it seemed a little counterintuitive to get rid of the other options like this, they didn't really matter since they weren't openings.
The red lines showed what openings his opponent saw in him, so if he didn't take into account the other things, then it wouldn't matter - they weren't openings anyway.
But this wasn't all. Even with this, he was sure he couldn't close the gap in power.
He concentrated on his mind. He then saw the attack closing in, just a few inches before him. Just as it was about to hit, his body twisted at impossible speeds to avoid the attack before instantly counterattacking, landing an attack to Xueling's abdomen and sending her away several meters.
Yu Tian didn't bother with her and looked at himself.
He flexed his hands. That's right. This was the feeling. He thought.
This was a new method he'd been working on for quite a while now.
He had long since realized that his physical body was his limitation. Although his mind could think fast - his body still limited him. It didn't react or move in time.
His solution to this limitation was to force his body to move. But although he could think faster and send signals to his muscles faster, they still seemed limited by their physical status, needing training to reach the levels he needed. That's when he had come up with another solution.
The solution imitated the telekinesis ability of the Core Formation Realm. Well, it was really of the Level Two Mind Realm. He had studied it and created an ability with a somewhat similar effect.
This ability allowed him to control thin threads of energy. He sensed his internal energy flowing throughout his body, then made thin energy threads with this energy. The reason he used internal energy instead of qi was because internal energy was more closely related to the body, allowing for easier use.
Another thing was that since he didn't use internal energy much during fights, he would always have quite the reserve, allowing for stretched-out battles.
After making thousands of threads, each connecting to different parts of his body, he began controlling the threads using his mind. Using the threads, he could force himself to move even though his body hadn't caught up to his mind.
Although it wasn't as fast as the mind could think, it was much faster than the body could react.
The only problem with using this was that it was basically ignoring his body's fatigue and also putting the entire burden on his mind.
"I'll call this technique...'Overclock.'"
…
Xueling slowly got up from her position.
What was that? she wondered.
The way he moved - it was totally different from before. She glanced at him and their eyes met. She froze for a moment. What was that? She gritted her teeth, forcing herself to calm down. Although she had used all her energy in that last attack, he was also out of energy. If she just... Suddenly, he wasn't there anymore.
"Oh no," she thought. She tried to move her sword to defend her left side, but before she could, she received a strong punch to her side and was thrown away. She tried to regain her balance in the air to stick the landing, but Yu Tian was already above her, delivering another blow and smashing her to the ground.
She crashed onto the ground but didn't wait even for a second, using all her strength to move right away just before Yu Tian crashed where she was just a moment ago. She gazed at him with a strange expression. He wasn't even instructing her anymore. He seemed to just be focused on the fight.
Before she could even catch a breath, he rushed towards her once again.
Xueling raised her sword in defense, but Yu Tian easily maneuvered around her sword strikes, his fist coming from an unexpected angle and striking her wrist, nearly making her drop her weapon.
She stumbled back, desperately trying to create distance, but he was relentless.
Every time she thought she'd found an opening to counter, he was already moving to his next attack.
She swung her sword in a wide arc, hoping to force him back, but he ducked under it with inhuman reflexes and delivered a sharp jab to her ribs. The air left her lungs. She gasped, barely managing to block his follow-up strike with the flat of her blade, but the impact sent vibrations through her arms that made them go numb.
"This is insane," she thought, her breathing ragged. He wasn't giving her any time to recover at all. Each movement he made was calculated and efficient - wasting no energy whatsoever. Meanwhile, she was burning through what little stamina she had left just trying to survive.
Yu Tian swept her legs out from under her. She hit the ground hard, rolling to the side just as his foot stomped down where her head had been. She scrambled to her feet, but her movements were getting slower, sloppier.
Her vision blurred at the edges from exhaustion.
She tried to parry his next punch, but her sword moved too slowly. His fist connected with her shoulder, spinning her around. Before she could regain her balance, another strike hit her back, sending her stumbling forward.
She planted her sword into the ground, using it as support to keep from falling completely.
Yu Tian didn't let up. He closed the distance in an instant, delivering a powerful kick that sent her sprawling. She tumbled across the ground, her sword flying from her grip.
When she finally stopped, she looked up to see him standing over her, his fist raised high.
This was it.
She closed her eyes.
"Don't close your eyes in battle," Yu Tian said in a tired voice.
She then felt a weight on her and slowly opened her eyes, only to see him lying on her, unconscious. She exhaled deeply, lifting her head slightly before giving up and deciding to rest a little.
As she did this, Jingxing suddenly appeared. "Lady Yu, doing this sort of thing outside is a little..."
"What sort of thing?" Xueling shouted before she could finish. "Also, I told you to stop calling me that!"
She then sighed. "Help me up."
