Calculating My Way To Immortality

Chapter 72: Dark Moon Hall

Yu Tian observed himself.

"How are you feeling?" Xueling asked, coming close.

"It definitely feels different," he responded.

"What are you doing?" he asked, looking at her hand that she had pressed against his abdomen.

"I'm inspecting your core," she said casually. She then nodded before letting go. "Everything seems to be working just fine." She paused. "Doesn't it feel uncomfortable having two?" The two cores seemed relatively close to one another and might cause some unwanted reactions, she thought.

"Yeah, a little. But it should be manageable," Yu Tian said.

He would think of a way to prevent the two cores from causing problems with each other. Well, they operated on different types of energy, so it should be fine for now since they wouldn't be interacting.

But when he thought about it, he didn't want to set aside time to circulate internal energy and another time to circulate normal qi. Since that was the case, then he needed a way to make them get along.

"I'll go cultivate by myself. You can take the time to stabilize your cultivation," Xueling said as she turned around. Just as she was about to leave, she felt his hand wrap around hers.

"Wait," he said.

She was surprised - his speed was quite fast. No, aside from that... she began blushing. Did he not want her to leave? She turned around slowly. "Umm... if you..." But before she could finish, Yu Tian spoke.

"No need to leave. We can still cultivate together. Besides, it's easier to stabilize my cultivation using your yin energy," he said.

"Mmmh, yeah," she replied softly.

The two sat in a meditative posture opposite each other and began their daily cultivation.

The night passed quickly, and it was already morning.

Yu Tian looked at himself with pride - this was really incredible. He had already stabilized his cultivation and was close to the second layer of Core Formation. Not having to cultivate each element individually was really great.

He extended his hand and concentrated his energy.

At Core Formation, qi emission gets better. But for someone like him whose qi emission was already great in the Foundation Realm, he wondered how it would be now. He produced fire from his hands - the entire process was really easy.

He concentrated once again and began producing something else. Fire, water, earth, metal, and wood qi began gathering on the palm of his hand. Slowly, he shaped the elements, merging them at the bottom and spreading the top like a flower blossom.

He smiled. He would call this technique the Chaos Lotus. If he threw this at someone, he was sure they'd be in for quite the surprise. Although the elements looked stable, they were all being held together by his understanding.

If he released them, they would go rogue after hitting the target and explode them to smithereens. This would be another of his trump cards.

As he thought of this, Xueling opened her eyes. "Wow, a flower. I didn't know you had such talent for art," she said. The four elements making up the flower were making it look quite pretty. She thought to herself that Yu Tian was really impressive - his qi emission seemed to be on par with hers despite having broken through just the day before.

"Don't touch it," Yu Tian said as he crushed the flower in his fist, destroying it.

"Why? It looked so nice," she said.

"This is the new technique I've created called the 'Chaos Lotus.'" Yu Tian then explained the effect of the technique to her, leaving her wide-eyed in surprise.

"Anyway, you just reached out to it without knowing the danger. It seems your battle instinct is lacking. Let's go train," he said with a smile as he got up.

She also smiled widely. "I've been waiting for this..."

In the Dark Moon Hall.

"What?" A roar echoed through the hall as the sect master shot up from his chair.

"What did you just say?" he asked, slamming his hands on the table and causing the ground below its legs to crack slightly.

"The people we sent to the Snow Heaven Sect were all killed," the subordinate spoke, trembling from the sect master's fury.

"My sect is full of useless trash! Can't even take care of a small-time sect!" he roared, waving his hand and causing a dark blade of energy to fly towards the subordinate. The subordinate was frozen in horror, unable to move.

But before the dark blade could eliminate him, someone's hand appeared and caught the blade, crushing it into nothingness.

The subordinate quickly prostrated himself. "Thank you, Grand Elder," he said.

The man simply smiled. He then gestured for him to leave with his hand, and the subordinate disappeared into the shadows.

The man stood facing the sect master. He wasn't muscular and also didn't look that much older than the subordinate from before - appearing to be in his mid-twenties.

"What is the meaning of this?" the sect master asked, looking at the man before him suspiciously.

"Nothing," the Grand Elder said, playfully raising his hands in surrender.

His expression then turned serious. "We don't have that many members in the information gathering branch, and it's hard to train new agents. So I'd really appreciate it if you stopped killing them left and right."

The sect master looked at the man with a stern expression, and the man did the same. They stayed like this for a few seconds, looking as though a fight was about to break out at any moment.

Then the sect master replied, "Hmph. Fine," he spoke, moving towards his seat.

The Grand Elder's expression changed into a pleasant one. "Thank you for your understanding," he said, then turned around to leave.

The sect master looked at him leaving with an angry expression. Him and the Grand Elder were equal in terms of strength - both at the Golden Core Realm. From what he could see, the Grand Elder was purposefully making things hard for him. He always seemed to find a way to make him look bad in front of others.

He was probably planning to get rid of him and take over the sect.

"Wait," the sect master spoke.

"Is there something else you want to talk about?" The man turned around with a sweet smile.

"I want you to go to the Snow Heaven Sect and demand justice for our sect members who have been killed," the sect master said.
