Chapter 71: Endless Rebirth Scripture
Xueling's consciousness slowly drifted as she cultivated the mind, and before long, she was completely lost in cultivation.
"Xueling," she heard Yu Tian's voice, and her eyes instantly snapped open.
He stood before her. The entire room wasn't as messy as before - it seemed he had succeeded.
She got up and stretched. She thought to herself that that felt really good. Cultivating the mind had helped her mind fatigue clear up, and she felt much better now. No wonder Yu Tian is so obsessed with it.
"Are you done now?" she asked.
"That's right," Yu Tian said with a bright smile.
"What did you make?" she asked.
Yu Tian brought out a small manual, about a hundred pages long.
She looked at the manual. "Endless Rebirth Scripture?" she wondered aloud. The name was quite bold.
She flipped through the pages before eventually closing the manual. "What do you think?" he asked.
"Hmm, how do I say this... it's quite interesting," she said.
Yu Tian just smiled as he took back the manual. The scripture wasn't that much different from what its name said.
Yu Tian had analyzed the effect of the snake monster from before.
Since he had absorbed its core completely, some of its essence was still left in his core - though most of it had been used for his rejuvenation during the breakthrough to the tenth layer of body refining.
Still, he was able to analyze the remnant essence and create something with it.
The method he had created allowed him to circulate and strengthen his internal energy, slowly compressing it until it reaches a certain threshold. After that happened, his body would undergo rejuvenation once again, strengthening his pure physical strength as well as his spiritual root, just like before.
Though he doubted he could upgrade it by one rejuvenation this time, he should be able to do it with just three, as shown by his calculations. Another advantage to this was that each of the rejuvenations - which he had decided to call rebirths now - actually allowed him to breakthrough in his body refining.
"Are there more layers of body refining?" Yu Tian asked.
"Yes. It's said that as long as your body can handle it, you can refine your body infinitely," Xueling said.
"Has such a thing ever been seen or recorded before?" he asked.
"No, many people don't really believe it. Even so, there have appeared some rare geniuses that were able to shatter the level ten limit. The highest I've heard was the twelfth layer, though the person didn't have any cultivation talent and died soon after when his lifespan ran out," she said.
Yu Tian nodded. It made sense. Martial artists who just cultivated body refining were more likely to shatter the level ten limit, as they didn't have talent for cultivating qi and could just focus on that all day long.
He looked at his own method. She said that as long as one could handle it, they would be able to continue body refining. He wondered if the rebirth increased his body's potential.
[100%]
He smiled. "Well, would you look at that."
It seemed he had to pay his respects some more to the snake monster for leaving him such a valuable gift.
But first... it was time to enter the Core Formation realm.
…
Xueling was keeping watch as Yu Tian attempted his Core Formation realm breakthrough.
He hadn't taken any supplementary pills. She wondered if he would succeed. She then shook her head - how could he not succeed? It was Yu Tian, after all.
Yu Tian, on the other hand, was in a state of extreme concentration, making sure that he wouldn't miss a single thing. If he made a single wrong move, his entire cultivation would collapse in on itself.
That was because of the five elements. To form the five elements core, he needed to fit the five elements foundation perfectly into a core. Although he managed making the foundation by making faces which were separate with little contact, for a core, there was no way of going around it - he had to bring them together.
Luckily for him, he had made some preparations beforehand.
Back when he was forming a foundation, he had put some parts of other elements inside the other elements. As the elements grew in the foundation realm, those inside each other also grew into the others.
Using this, he could figure out the exact properties required for the elements to harmonize.
From what he knew, the elements were made from fundamental energies known as yin and yang. As these two fundamental forces clashed against each other and balanced inside each other, they made the elements.
Extreme yin energy made the ice element. Adding a little yang made water. Going to the extreme yang, you got fire. Then putting an equal amount made both super agitated, making lightning.
Now he just needed to calculate the yin-yang balance and slowly bring the elements together. They didn't need to merge - this was almost impossible. They just needed to find a point of harmony from which the five elements could bloom.
After doing thousands of complex calculations and even more optimizations, he was finally able to come up with something. He exhaled deeply to calm himself before beginning the process.
Having done all the required calculations, this part was easy. He just needed to hammer down on his foundation following the calculations he had made to ensure everything fell into place neatly.
He started hammering down on the foundation walls, slowly compressing the foundation more and more. As he did this, Xueling felt the aura around him begin to intensify. She became alert.
He had already reached the critical point? It hadn't even been that long yet.
Yu Tian gritted his teeth. He was getting to the final part. He didn't slow down and continued using his qi to hammer down more and more. As this continued, the foundation continued condensing more and more.
At this point, it was already round in shape.
Yu Tian used even more power, hammering it even more.
As he did this, he suddenly felt his qi reflect as if hitting metal. He smiled. He had done it.
He had made a solid core and advanced to the Core Formation realm.
He felt his body suddenly open up, becoming like some sort of vacuum and beginning to suck in all the nearby qi. This continued for a few minutes before finally coming to a stop.
He slowly opened his eyes.
"Congratulations," Xueling said with a smile.
