Chapter 76: Stars Will Bleed
Dravus didn't have time to blink.
BOOM.
The crater beneath them vanished in a shockwave of gold light. Starman's punch connected with a soundless, brilliant rupture, the sheer force creating a sonic ring that shattered clouds, glass, and bone all at once.
Dravus flew.
Through sky. Through stratosphere. Into space.
The space surveillance drones struggled to lock on as he tore through the void, a comet of meat and blood. One finally caught up...
CAMERA DRONE 7X – LIVE FEED (STARMAN VS DRAVUS)
Dravus floated, blood streaming from his cracked jaw and torn lips. His smile stretched unnaturally wide, pupils dilated.
"YES," he growled, ecstasy dripping from every syllable. "This... THIS is what I've been looking for."
He barely finished the sentence when Starman arrived, a flash of white and gold colliding into his gut like a collapsing star. Ribs shattered. Dravus coughed blood and retaliated, slamming a hammer-fist into Starman's chest.
Starman was sent spiraling backward through the cosmos. He didn't scream. He didn't need to. His mouth bled.
He had never bled before.
MOON ORBIT
Starman paused in space, touching the blood on his lip with cold confusion.
And then... rage.
A flare of red ignited in his eyes, the airless vacuum suddenly vibrating with wrath. He roared, a guttural alien screech only the drones picked up on.
He charged, fist cocked like a meteor.
BAM.
THUD.
CRACK.
Punches faster than light. Bones broke. Blood sprayed across the moon's surface. Dravus caught one punch and headbutted Starman...his nose broke.
THE GOD BLED.
@SkyNetGalaxyX: "This isn't a fight. This is annihilation."
@StarmanSimp420: "Wait… did Starman just BLEED?!?"
@VoidWatcher: "I can't breathe. Is this still happening?"
@Justice2Die4: "He's not a god. He's just... another monster."
DEEP SPACE
Starman grabbed Dravus by the throat and smashed him into a passing asteroid, splitting it in two. He fired twin red beams that burned through Dravus' shoulders, melting flesh, boiling bone.
Dravus screamed, but it was laughter.
"This is what it means to be alive!"
He launched forward, elbow slamming into Starman's face. A tooth flew out. Starman retaliated with a heat vision burst that seared half of Dravus' face off.
They collided again...
Starfire vs Starfire. Monster vs Monster.
Blood painted the stars.
INT. SPACE NEWS NETWORK – BROADCAST
The news drones were glitching, feeds stuttering.
@SpacePulseLive: "Signal corrupted… too fast… re-aligning..."
One final flash.
Starman grabbed Dravus and plummeted toward Earth, atmosphere igniting around them.
CENTRAL CITY – CRATER
BOOM.
They hit.
The crater doubled in size, debris scattering across miles. Shockwaves ruptured buildings. Viewers gasped. Heroes braced.
Dust cleared.
Both stood, bloodied, breathing hard. Their suits torn, bones visible, power leaking like broken stars.
"Let's finish this," Starman said, voice like cracking mountains.
Dravus grinned. "You took your first step into hell. Let's see how far you can fall."
They charged.
Starman punched back into space and bursted after him.
SPACE
The sun loomed ahead, a swirling inferno of celestial rage.
Starman hurled Dravus into it.
WHOOSH... SSSKKRRRREEEEEEEEE
Flames wrapped around them. The sun screamed as if awakened. Their bodies crashed through plasma. Radiation danced on their skin. Solar flares whipped around like dragons.
Dravus clawed his way out of the core, still laughing.
@CosmicLens: "THEY'RE INSIDE THE FREAKING SUN?!"
@SunGazerNova: "This isn't a fight anymore. This is extinction-level brawling."
Dravus burst from the sun's surface, steam rolling off his scorched skin.
He snatched Starman mid-flight and SLAMMED him into Mercury.
CRACK...
The planet split.
WHIP. Starman retaliated with a solar-charged punch that knocked Dravus through Venus, then followed, slamming his enemy again through its molten crust.
BAM. THWACK. KRAK.
They tore through Mars. Then Jupiter. Saturn. Planets cracked and crumbled.
But Starman was slowing down.
His strikes got weaker. His vision blurred. He was... tired.
Dravus caught his next punch with one hand.
He smiled with burning eyes. "You're not used to this, are you?"
Starman's breath caught.
He was scared.
A meteor of fire and pain hurtled toward the planet.
BOOM...
They crashed into Earth, obliterating another crater. Central City groaned. Civilians screamed. The skies split.
Starman tumbled out of the crater, bloodied, barely conscious.
Dravus walked toward him, casually. A predator.
CAMERA DRONE – LIVE
He kicked Starman's ribs. Once. Twice. A third time for fun.
Then he spat on him. "Is this your champion?"
He grabbed Starman by the hair, lifted his broken face to the camera.
@WorldWatchOne: "Please... someone help him..."
@TruthSeeker99: "Starman... the peace symbol... crawling?"
@GoddessVoid: "I'm getting chills. I think I like this Dravus guy."
Starman coughed blood as he tried to crawl away.
Dravus strolled beside him. Slapped his face.
"Run, hero. Show them what your courage looks like."
And then...
A metallic fist SMASHED Dravus across the face.
He staggered.
SHADOW stood, cape torn, mask cracked. The Starbreaker suit in ruins.
Jace's voice cut like steel: "Enough."
@ShadowStans: "SHADOW JUST HIT DRAVUS!!"
@HeroSpotlight: "sh*t... he's still standing?!"
Dravus blinked, chuckled. "You again?"
Jace raised his fists. "You made your point. But we don't break. Not here."
Dravus cracked his neck.
The world held its breath.
