BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 20: Marriage

It was a simple sentence, but it carried an endless murderous intent and was chilling to the core.

However, there was no visible trace of hostility from Gu Yuan. This was the mark of a truly strong man—his words alone, calm and unassuming, exuded a terrifying coldness, capable of sending someone straight to hell.

Soul Realm

On the back mountain, Hun Xiu, who was practicing, suddenly sneezed and rubbed his nose. He brushed it off and resumed practicing the high-level fighting skill, the Soul-Killing Palm, which he had obtained from the Fighting Skills Pavilion.

Little did he know that the strongest people on the continent had already taken notice of him and were secretly planning his demise. If Hun Xiu were aware of this, one might wonder if he could still focus on his training.

This was like a knife falling from the heavens while sitting at home—sudden and utterly unexpected.

---

Gu Dao heard Gu Yuan's suggestion but didn't respond immediately. After pondering for a moment, he shook his head and said, "Chief, this is unrealistic. Hun Xiu is the son of Hun Tian Di. Unless something extraordinary happens, he is destined to become the future leader of the Hun Clan. Moreover, he's in the Soul Realm, making it nearly impossible for our people to approach him without risking exposure."

"Hmm," Gu Yuan nodded slightly, his expression showing agreement. "I've thought about it carefully too. It's nearly impossible to kill him."

Changing the subject, Gu Yuan continued, "Let's set aside the matter of this super-divine bloodline individual. Aren't there two others with divine bloodlines?"

Gu Dao nodded. "Yes, there are two others—Hun Feng, another son of Hun Tian Di, and Hun Yu, the son of an elder."

Gu Yuan asked again, "Do you think killing these two is feasible?"

Gu Dao bitterly smiled and shook his head. "Chief, this is simply impossible. Please don't joke about such things."

Gu Yuan sighed deeply. "The Hun Clan is no weaker than our Ancient Clan. Their younger generation is flourishing, far surpassing ours. If this continues for another century or two, what place will there be for the Ancient Clan on Douqi Continent?"

The younger generation of the Hun Clan weighed heavily on Gu Yuan's mind. While they posed no immediate threat, he foresaw a grim future once the Hun Clan's youth reached full maturity.

"The Ancient Clan will dwindle to nothing," Gu Yuan lamented. "As time goes on, the bloodlines of the ancient clans grow weaker. One day, they will run dry, leaving us as ordinary mortals—just like the Xiao Clan, once the strongest of the Eight Great Clans."

He continued, "Look at the Spirit Clan and the Stone Clan today. Their Dou Di bloodlines are so diluted that only a few elders hold them together. Without their support, they'd have been eliminated long ago."

Meanwhile, the Hun Clan's Dou Emperor bloodline remained as strong as ever. And now, a super-divine bloodline had emerged among them. It was truly enviable.

---

After a long silence, Gu Yuan turned to Gu Dao. "What are your thoughts on a marriage alliance with the Hun Clan?"

"Marriage?" Gu Dao looked at Gu Yuan in surprise. The idea seemed far-fetched, especially given the long-standing rivalry between the two clans.

The Hun Clan was no weaker than the Ancient Clan, but their methods were often disliked—especially their openly affiliated faction, the Soul Palace, known for its ruthless tactics.

Gu Yuan, in particular, harbored resentment due to the Soul Clan's betrayal, which led to the death of Xiao Xuan, the Ancient Clan's former greatest ally and Gu Yuan's close friend.

After regaining his composure, Gu Dao asked, "Chief, are you seriously considering a marriage alliance with the Hun Clan?"

Gu Yuan nodded. "Yes, I am. What do you think?"

The suggestion seemed to have come out of nowhere, yet Gu Yuan couldn't take it back now that it was spoken. While it felt strange, the idea wasn't without merit.

Marrying into the Soul Clan could forge a powerful alliance between the two forces.

After a moment of contemplation, Gu Dao said, "I have no objections." Despite his dislike for the Hun Clan, he prioritized the survival of the Ancient Clan over personal grievances.

"Chief," Gu Dao added, "if you're set on this, you must already have someone in mind for the marriage."

"Of course," Gu Yuan replied firmly. "I want Hun Xiu, the one with the super-divine bloodline. No one else will suffice."

Gu Yuan's determination was evident. Since he couldn't destroy the super-divine bloodline, he resolved to claim it for the Ancient Clan instead.

"Achooo.."

Meanwhile, Hun Xiu, deep in his training, sneezed once more. He rubbed his nose, murmuring, "What's going on?"

Unable to figure it out, he dismissed the thought and continued his practice, focusing on honing his skills. In Hun Xiu's mind, the best way to prepare for the challenges ahead was through relentless hard work.

(That ends for today. Thanks for reading!)
