Chapter 19: Gu Yuan
"Um?"
When Hun Shou heard what Hun Xiu said, he immediately understood the hidden meaning behind Hun Xiu's words.
He responded, "This elder is also busy and does not wish to disturb the clan leader unnecessarily."
Hun Xiu felt relieved and quickly replied, "That's good."
However, Hun Shou suddenly changed his tone, speaking with a more serious demeanor:
"Hun Xiu, you must understand that my visit to the clan leader was for your benefit. You've activated the super-divine bloodline, and your talent is extraordinary. These yellow- and black-level fighting skills are unworthy of you. Practicing them will only squander your potential."
"You are destined to soar above the continent. I cannot stand by and watch you waste your future. This isn't just about you—it's about the future of our Soul Clan. As the son of Hun Tian Di, you are unique, born with extraordinary potential."
Hun Xiu picked up the Soul-Killing Palm scroll from the table, his expression resolute. He replied firmly:
"I will not gamble with my future, Elder. I have my own plans. My choice to train with Xuan-level fighting skills isn't because I undervalue higher ones, but because I want to build a solid foundation."
With those words, Hun Xiu turned and left.
Hun Shou watched his retreating figure and murmured to himself:
"Starting from the basics? Perhaps I misunderstood him."

In the Gu Realm
Amid a bamboo forest stood a small courtyard. A middle-aged man in a black robe exuded a terrifyingly oppressive aura as he stood with his hands behind his back.
This man was Gu Yuan, the patriarch of the Ancient Clan—a rival of Hun Tian Di and one of the two strongest beings on the continent.
The swaying bamboo produced a soothing rustling sound in the wind, yet the breeze halted abruptly, as if bowing to the man's overwhelming presence.
A figure in white appeared in the courtyard. He was a man with white hair and delicate features, radiating an ethereal, immortal-like aura.
This was Gu Dao, one of the Ancient Clan's Three Immortals. He bowed slightly and addressed Gu Yuan:
"Patriarch."
Gu Yuan turned, his piercing gaze meeting Gu Dao's.
"Gu Dao, why are you here?"
Gu Dao's expression was solemn as he replied:
"Patriarch, it concerns the Soul Clan."
Gu Yuan's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Has the Soul Clan made any moves?"
Though both clans were among the Eight Ancient Clans, their rivalry was deeply entrenched. Gu Yuan understood Emperor Hun Tian's ambitions all too well and remained ever vigilant.
Gu Dao shook his head.
"Not directly, but prodigies have emerged within the Soul Clan—individuals of terrifying potential."
Gu Yuan's expression darkened further.
"Terrifying? Elaborate."
"Among their younger generation, there are two with divine bloodlines and one with a super-divine bloodline."
Gu Yuan's gaze sharpened, his voice cold.
"A super-divine bloodline? Explain."
Gu Dao proceeded to recount reports from their spies, confirming that Hun Xiu, the son of Emperor Hun Tian, had awakened an eleventh-grade bloodline—something that surpassed even divine bloodlines.
Gu Yuan's tone grew colder, carrying an edge of murderous intent.
"The Soul Clan's fortune truly defies logic. A super-divine bloodline and two divine bloodlines? Such a thing could tip the balance of power on the continent."
After a pause, he continued:
"Gu Dao, do you believe there's a way to ensure that the super-divine bloodline doesn't live long enough to mature?"
