Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO

Chapter 749: Could she have forgotten them as well?

Aiden was working in his office when Emyr entered, knocking at the door.

"Sir, Dafydd Winslow has arrived in Cralens," he reported, his tone urgent. "He is stepping out of the airport as we talk."

However, despite his pressing tone, Aiden sat nonchalantly as though he didn't find the situation critical at all.

"Let him find who he is here for. Don't stop him," he said, and for a second Emyr felt confused.

But then Aiden pushed the chair and rose to his height. Grabbing his suit jacket, he said, "Let's go. We need to host them." And with that, he didn't stay. He walked out of his office.

Emyr watched him for a moment before he also followed him.

Meanwhile —

On the other side, Arwen checked the time on her phone before she got up to leave. "Mr. Jones, I will return on time. But if I happen to be late, don't let Aiden worry. Just remind him that I have left alone. I have gone with the group of people he left around me."

She told, knowing Aiden's antics.

The butler smiled and nodded in understanding. "Got it, Madam. I will explain it carefully to sir."

Arwen nodded, and then, giving a last glance at him, she turned to leave.

Outside, Alfred had long been informed of her plans. So, he was waiting, ready with the car.

"Good afternoon, Madam," he greeted, and Arwen glanced at him with a small smile. Her eyes grew a little smaller with concern before she nodded to his greeting and asked.

"How are you feeling, Alfred?" Her voice held the dip of genuine worry. "If you aren't well, you can take a rest for a few days. I can bring someone else. You don't have to rush."

Alfred shook his head politely. "Madam, I am better already. I won't risk your safety. Only now that I feel better, am I confident in serving you again. If not, I wouldn't have the courage."

Arwen pressed her lips in a thin line, then nodded to him. "Then, let's go. It's already time, and I need to get there as soon as possible."

Alfred opened the door of the car for her. "Madam, please."

Arwen soon slipped inside the car. And after she settled there, Alfred closed the door for her and went to slide inside the driver's seat.

The location was long shared with him, so the drive to Calvin's clinic was not difficult. It took some time, but soon Alfred pulled the car up outside Reese's clinic.

"Madam, we have arrived," he announced just when Arwen noticed.

She checked the time on her watch once again. They were just in time. Pulling her lips in a small, polite smile, she turned to Alfred. "Thank you for driving me here, Alfred. I will go inside, and you can take a rest until then."

"Okay, madam," he replied before getting down to open the door for her.

Arwen thanked him once again before she headed inside the clinic.

As she walked in, she saw Ivy at her desk. "Good afternoon, Ivy. I hope I am not late today."

Ivy glanced up at her and smiled. "Nope, you are just on time." Her gaze paused at the bandage around her head, and her brows furrowed a little. "Was it really a bad one?"

Arwen shook her head. "No, it wasn't that bad. My driver was quite skilled. He saved the day."

"That's good," Ivy spoke, nodding. Her eyes were paused at her.

Arwen waited for a moment before she moved her hand to ask, "Is Dr. Calvin there waiting for me?"

"Oh … no, he is right now checking on a patient, but …" Ivy checked the time on her watch, continuing, "he will be done soon. He has asked me to lead you to his office." She gestured towards the door of Reese's office. "You can go in and have a seat there. You wouldn't have to wait for long."

Arwen smiled and then gave a nod. "Okay, then. I won't stand and delay you here for long. I will wait for Dr. Calvin inside."

Ivy nodded to her before stepping out to open the door to Reese's cabin for her. "Here you go."

"Thank you, Ivy," Arwen spoke softly before entering the office. The door closed behind her, and she let her eyes dart to look around the office. This wasn't her first time, but every time she had come here, she never took the chance to look around.

But today, she had the time to let her gaze wander a little.

As she was looking around, her eyes suddenly paused at the section of the room where there were pictures. Her eyes narrowed a little, and she advanced in the direction to check.

She could easily recognized Reese in each of them … while taking the awards, certificates. But then, she halted at one picture, and so did her gaze.

From the features, she could easily tell it was no other but Reese in the picture. But that wasn't what made her pause on that.

It was the sense of familiarity she felt coming from it.

As if the boy in that image wasn't someone she had only come to recognize now. But someone she had met before. Somewhere in the past.

Could it be they knew each other in the past?

Arwen wasn't sure. She wasn't even sure if what she was feeling was real or if she was just being paranoid.

Her gaze moved to the next picture. The one where Reese still has his young image. He was standing there with an old man —the man was not familiar, but it felt like she had seen him before as well. Somewhere in her life.

Could she have forgotten them as well?

Her brows furrowed as she tried to think hard. But no matter how she tried, she couldn't bring herself to recognize them.

At that moment, she heard the door of the office being pushed open. She turned at the sound and glance back in the direction of the door only to find Reese standing there with glasses on his eyes.

"Dr. Calvin!"
