Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO

Chapter 747: When it comes to you, I believe no one.

"Where did you go?" Arwen asked when she saw Aiden finally entering the room. Her eyes darted to look at the clock. It wasn't very late, but still, she was expecting him to come early.

Aiden looked at her forehead, which was still wrapped with a bandage. "Did you change it?"

Arwen touched the gauge and slowly nodded. "The nurse came earlier to help me change it. It's no longer hurting, and I am better."

"And did the doctor come?" he asked again, and she pursed her lips before rolling her eyes at him.

"Husband, he had long said I am fine. Do you still not believe him?"

"When it comes to you, I believe no one," he said without hesitating before stepping closer to look at her carefully. "You are the treasure for which I can risk everything in this world. I can't bear to see even a strand of your hair getting harmed."

Arwen stared at him and couldn't help but smile. "I know, and that's why I am reassuring you again and again that I am fine. You don't have to burn the work over a simple accident. And I am sure they didn't intend it."

Aiden's gaze darkened for a moment, but before Arwen could notice it, it was gone.

"You should rest now," he said, and Arwen blinked.

Her gaze darted to look around before she turned back to Aiden to ask, "You want me to rest here?"

Aiden raised his brow slightly. "You don't want to rest here?"

She shook her head. "I want to get back home now. I already spent a night here in the hospital. Another day won't make me feel good. And the doctor said I can get discharged anytime."

"But, Moon —"

"Husband, please," she puppy-eyed him, blinking them to persuade him. "I want to rest in our room, cuddling in your warm embrace. Can I not?"

Aiden stared at her and sighed.

How could he refuse her when she tries to convince him like this?

"Fine, I will take you back, but you have to promise me that you will take rest seriously," he put forth the condition.

Arwen nodded at once. "I will, don't worry."

"You will also stay back and rest tomorrow," he explained his words better, and she paused at that.

"Tomorrow?" she repeated, and he nodded.

Her brows furrowed a little, but then, thinking she nodded, "Fine, I won't go to the office tomorrow. But in the evening, I have something to do, and for that I will be stepping out."

"Moon, you —"

Before he could refuse her, she cut him off. "You don't trust me, husband?" she pressed her lips into a thin line. "I told you I am not hurt. It was just a minor accident, and Alfred was able to make it in the right time."

"But you still got hurt."

"That's a minor injury. Should we ask for an expert opinion, and then you will believe me?"

"Moon!"

"Don't Moon me now, husband. If it weren't something important to take care of, do you think I would be arguing with you over such a simple thing?" Arwen couldn't delay it anymore. She had to meet Calvin today, but staying at the hospital has postponed it further. She can't bear another day of delay.

The more she has to wait, the more she feels her patience thinning. And she couldn't take it anymore.

"If you are not listening, then —"

"Fine, I listen," Aiden relented, and when she paused to look at him, he nodded, confirming. "Yes, I am listening to you. If it's really something important, then you can step out tomorrow, but … you will have to take my people with you."

"You people?" she asked as if she didn't understand.

He nodded. Then, without explaining, he said, "Yes, my people. They will follow you until I am satisfied. And you can't refuse to it."

She pressed her lips into a thin line but didn't argue. "Okay, I will agree to it for now." Taking a deep breath, she turned to look at the clock. "Now, when that's decided, can we finally leave?"

Aiden stared at her for a moment before nodding. Then, looking back over his shoulder, he signalled Emyr, who was standing near the door.

Emyr understood and quickly nodded. "I will go and handle the discharge formalities as soon as possible." With that, he turned and quickly left the room.

Later that night, Arwen and Aiden returned home.

Although Arwen knew something was going on Aiden's side, she didn't ask him. She just trusted him on everything he did. Even if he didn't tell her something, she believed him enough to know that he must have his reasons for it.

"You said you have something important tomorrow," Aiden suddenly mentioned again while tucking her inside the blanket. Glancing at her, he continued, "Who are you meeting?"

Arwen paused for a second and blinked at him. "You want to know it?" she asked, squinting her eyes a little at him.

Aiden stood to his full height and tucked his hands in his pockets. Staring at her, he nodded. "Tell me."

Arwen thought for a moment and then replied, "I am meeting a doctor."

"Doctor?" Aiden asked, his brows slightly furrowing. "Why are you meeting a doctor?"

Before Arwen could give a reply, Aiden's phone rang. Her eyes darted to his pocket, where he had kept his phone tucked in.

When she didn't see him moving, she asked, "Aren't you going to take that?"

"You were telling me why you are visiting a doctor?"

She pursed her lips. "It's nothing about getting worried. I am just visiting because there is something that I need to ask him. Nothing else."

"Are you sure?" he asked as though he wasn't convinced.

Arwen didn't respond immediately. But after a moment, she smiled and nodded. "You can trust me on that. There is nothing to worry about. That doctor is more like a friend to me. I am just meeting him casually."

Wait for me to know everything, husband. I won't let you suffer for long.
