Chapter 1242: Taming The Little Fire Bear Cubs
-----
We had to get going, but before that, I quickly mined the fire spirit stones, stored the monster bodies inside my inventory, and then went to investigate the deeper parts of the cave, where more stones were growing.

As I moved forward, I suddenly felt some presences in the back, making me feel slightly alarmed. I had gone to the end of the cave because there were the most fire spirit stones in there.
However, when we got there, what we saw was…
"G-Graaahh…"
"Grroohh…"
"Guuhh…"
We found three little Fire Bear cubes cowering at the end of the caves, afraid of our presences. They were "small" but well, as small as bear cubs can be, they were definitely bigger than adult dogs.
However, their faces were much smaller and cuter, and their red fur was adorable, covered on orange stripes, they had a tiny flame over their head.
"T-These are…"
I felt slightly devastated right now, seeing the cubs of the Bear Mother, I can understand why she wasn't moving even as the other bears fought, she was trying to protect the youngest ones.
Ugh… I feel so horrible now. I know they're dangerous monsters but… I'm a mom too.
"Fire Bear Cubs…" said Olivia through the golem. "Hmm, I think you should eliminate them quickly, before they grow up and reproduce. They could cause quite the problem if they end up multiplying again."
"I-I don't know if I could do that…" I sighed.
"Hm? Really? I could do it for you then," Olivia said nonchalantly.
Damn, she's quite cold…
I guess in this type of job, you have to be very cool-headed.
If you get distracted or sad over little monster cubs, then you're certainly not fit for it.
But I just can't.
"No, there's no need…" I said. "Thank you though, Olivia."
"Eh? Then what are you doing with them?" she wondered. "Elayne, maybe you have a soft spot for small animals, but these are monsters! If you ever found a normal bear cub you would bring them to an animal shelter, and then perhaps a zoo would take care of them… However, this is different, these aren't animals. They're dangerous beings that have a very strong preference for human flesh."
"But what if I tame them?" I asked. "What if I tame them and teach them to be good boys and girls? Would they be dangerous?"
"T-Tame them?" she wondered. "There are only a couple of Monster Taming Families out there but… Hm, maybe its possible, they're quite big but they're still clearly cubs…"
"I'll also help take care of them then," said Mark. "I can handle them with ease because their fire won't affect me."
"Mark!" I said, happy he supported me. "Yeah, let's take care of them… Or I simply wouldn't be able to really feel better."
"I guessed as much, I know you quite well, haha," Mark giggled. "Come on, let's bring them with us."
"It would be quite dangerous to do that, they might be cubs, but they'll still try to bite you and attack you if you handle them," said Olivia. "There's no spell that will suddenly make a monster less aggressive."
"Maybe they're just afraid…" said Mark. "Elayne, come with us, let's feed them together."
"Oh! Okay…" I nodded.
I ran to Mark's side as we approached the cubs, they groaned at us, rising their bodies to look larger, but they were still smaller than us.
"Here, buddy, do you like these?"
Mark offered them some "snacks" which were fire spirit stones we just mined, the fire bear cubs only watched them from afar, but after sniffing them, they approached to eat.
Crunchy sounds of their teeth breaking through the crystals and then swallowing echoed through the caves, as they ate every fire spirit stone at the end.
"Weird, they're surrounded by them, but they ate the ones you gave to them?" wondered Olivia.
"Maybe it's because they can cut or break the larger ones," I said. "Maybe their mom did it for them…"
We did the same for the next minutes, and they continued eating, until they seemed more relaxed and fuller. Now's the tricky part, how do we drag them to my house?
Maybe we could make a contract with them?
Wait, I do have that one Skill, yeah.
But I'll end up losing three slots if I tame all three of them.
Could I use it to make them tamable, but transfer that taming effect to Mark instead?
I asked the Great Spirit.
"It's worth giving it a shot, the Skill's power is simply an ability, an effect, an energy or essence," she explained. "By targeting this magical energy, they'll become tamable… But we have to try though."
"Okay…" I nodded. "Mark, I'll help you see if you can tame them using my Skill."
"Oh! You can use it like that?" he wondered.
"I'll try!" I said.
"A-Alright, do your best then," Mark nodded.
The Fire Bear Cubs were still slightly wary of us, glaring at us, but two of them had already sat down and were resting over the floor, confused, their animalistic, beastly and monstrous instincts had yet to take over their innocent minds.
However, as I activated [Sacred Spirit Queen Of Divine Beasts], an aura of gold light emerged from my hands, I tried targeting it to the cubs, but I had to make physical contact with them.
I approached slowly with Mark feeding them little bits of meat mixed with fire spirit stones, the meat was beef I had in my inventory.
As they ate and relaxed, lowering their guard, I touched them slightly, one after another.
"Grrhh?"
They looked back at me confused, but I had already touched them, the power of [Sacred Spirit Queen Of Divine Beasts] quickly activated, as golden light encompassed them.
It felt as if they began seeing me less warily, it didn't really brainwash them or something, but maybe to them, I looked much more… I don't know, approachable?
"Graaah?"
"Graah!"
"Goohh!"
They ran to my side, suddenly sniffing and licking my hands and face.
They were so cute!
"Hahaha! W-Wait a second! Hey, don't lick my face!"
As I giggled, I could hear Olivia's shock.
"T-This is incredible! Did you already tame them?!"
