Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1241: The Little Ones Left Behind

-----

As I fought against the Mother Bear, I realized she was pretty tough!

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

I was pushed back slightly, the Mother Bear was strong, and her ferocious, fiery charge was mighty. To make things worse, the armor over her body made her a tough nut to crack.

I had to quickly do something against that fiery armor, or I would take way too long dealing with these beasts.

And as I thought, an image flashed through my mind, of an Ice Fairy that had recently learned to control Water, derived from her Ice Element.

"Hmm… Okay, Nieve, let me borrow your technique!"

I quickly thought of an idea, as I Fused and Infused the Water Spirits into Irene, imagining what I wanted by thinking of Nieve's techniques and her amazing power.

"Irene, transform!"

"Uwaaah! A-Again? Isn't my normal form enough?!"

"Nope."

Irene complained a little bit, but a shovel is a shovel at the end of the day, I wanted something themed after water after all.

FLAAASH!

As I imbued the spirits into her body, Irene's entire body transformed, becoming a long, azure-colored metallic trident, overflowing with an Aura of Water swirling around her body.

[You have Fused and Infused Water Spirits into your Weapon [Irene], temporarily creating the High Spirit Weapon: {Azure Trident of Raging Seas: Poseidon}!]

I heard the short Voice of the World echoing inside of my mind, as Irene's new form clashed against the Fire Bear Mother, a single strike quickly shattering a part of her fiery armor.

Crack, crack…!

CRASH!

"Nice, I got her!"

I could have used my sword techniques and deal with her even faster, but the flames constantly annoying me wouldn't easily let me do this.

This helped me put my mind in the right place, getting the power I've gained into my head wouldn't be wise. I can't just grow arrogant because I've become stronger.

There will always be enemies with special abilities or magic that could completely negate what I rely on.

Therefore, I must adapt, my greatest skill had always been adaptation!

As I struggle, I will adapt, and aim to defeat my opponent.

However, for that, I must never, never underestimate them.

"GRAAAAHHH!"

The Mother Bear roared, opening her jaws and unleashing a deadly blazing breath, I quickly stepped back as I swung Irene, a barrier of water encompassed me.

BOOOM!

The water quickly boiled and evaporated, but it helped me survive that attack, right before I charged forward, summoning more Water Spirits.

By using these Spirits as "fuel" for Irene's new form, I activated her Abilities, which had changed upon her temporary transformation.

"{Wrathful Sea Spirit Explosion}!"

The trident moved forward as a giant wave of water was unleashed, splashing over the Mother Bear and destroying her armor with several blows at the same time.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

The oceanic waves protected me and helped me move around, evading her deadly breath and her fireballs, while negating her domain.

"You're strong, almost as strong as that Ant Queen!"

I quickly leaped into the air, gathering all the water I summoned around the trident again.

"And that's why I have to take you down quickly!"

"GRAAAH!"

She furiously swung her claws against me, trying to stop me, only for my trident to pierce through her claws and arms, and reach her head, shattering her armor in the process.

Crack, crack…!

CRASH!

As her armor shattered, I put all my strength into my muscles, pushing the trident all the way down. The Mother Bear gave one last laugh though, releasing all her flames at once and burning my entire body!

"GRAAAAH!"

BOOOM!

Once the trident pierced her skull and she died, I dropped over the floor, I felt a lot of pain all over my body, gasping for air, I felt exhausted.

"Uuggh…"

Fire is still my weakness, even more with my real body…

"Irene!"

"Yeah!"

She quickly used her last amount of water magic to splash my entire body, turning off the flames. I tried to heal myself, but I realized I had run out of Mana.

As I tried to take my Mana Potions, I saw Mark rushing to my side, accompanied by Gabriel.

"Elayne! Let me heal you!"

"Big sis!"

The two ended healing me the best they could, I felt refreshed, feeling a bit more relieved. However, this fight made me realize I need ways to counter fire much better.

Perhaps engraving more water element spells into my magic circle and so on… I have to take into consideration I don't have the super powerful, endless regeneration of Planta.

My real body is much weaker, so I must be careful.

However, this challenge did spark some ideas into my mind of what I could do to counter these things.

"Are you alright? You were burning all over! I was so scared…" Mark sighed.

"Yeah, yeah, she got me at the end, but that's fair," I nodded. "I deserved that much after killing a mother just trying to protect her family…"

I stood up, feeling much better, my burned clothes slowly began growing back, although a few of my skin was exposed, it wasn't anything too revealing.

"Why didn't you use the shield?" wondered Mark. Your next read awaits at empire

"That shield? It made primarily of wood, so it would have most likely burned…" I sighed. "For now, I think this is enough, don't worry! Even if my entire body had been burned a lot, I would have been able to recover with enough Mana. But this was really a bad match against me, haha!"

"Hahh… seriously," Mark sighed.

"Mom! Are you ok?" Elena walked to my side.

"Yep! All good!" I nodded. "I'll simply work around my weaknesses!"

As I nodded, everyone quickly felt a bit more relieved. With this Monster Nest done, we had to quickly move on to the second if we wanted to get back home on time.

However, before that, I quickly mined the fire spirit stones, stored the monster bodies inside my inventory, and then went to investigate the deeper parts of the cave, where more stones were growing.

And then…

"G-Graaahh…"

"Grroohh…"

"Guuhh…"

We found three little Fire Bear cubs cowering at the end of the caves, afraid of our presences.
