Boy With Love

Chapter 8: EIGHT | THE DIARY

CHAPTER EIGHT | THE DIARY

ARTHUR

It was hard convincing the Principal that I've been forcing Luca to steal the question papers. I even had to call in Mandy for help and the fact that Ciara already spread rumours about me blackmailing Luca comes in handy too. I guess there's truly a silver lining in every cloud.

The principal had called five other students to testify against me. Unsurprisingly, they all did…they've always hated me and loved bullying me at any opportunity they got.

I became the bad guy again and my mother had to step in so that I wouldn't be expelled. I got suspended for the rest of the week after my mother promised the school another building and a lot of financial support.

I also had to sit for an unhealthy amount of exams for the case to be closed.

Luca was no longer expelled. He was only suspended for two days for being an ally. From the information Mandy gave me, he and Ciara are back together.

I feel stupid, honestly. I feel stupid for loving a guy that wouldn't even look my way if I am a pretty girl because he is too busy being in love with my sister.

Luca has been sending me text messages which I have been ignoring because I'm mad at him.

He went back to Ciara after everything she did. She might claim she had no hand in both our problems but I am not stupid enough to believe her. I know she did it. I am sure of it. But Luca on the other hand is way too blinded by his love for her to see her for who she truly is.

I wish I could hate them both. I wish I could do something bad to them both but at the end of the day, I can't. Ciara is my sister and I'm in love with Luca. I can't hurt either of them for anything in the world.

A soft knock on my door snaps me out of my depressed thoughts. Ignoring my lack of reply, the person opens the door to my room. "Hey, baby. How are you feeling? You haven't left your room in five days. I know you were suspended but you ain't suspended at home too." My mother's voice comes from the doorway, trying to lighten up my dark mood.

I ignore her, turning to the other side of the bed so that she wouldn't have a view of my face.

I hear my mother's sigh before my door is softly closed and her steps is heard coming closer to my bed.

She sits on my king-sized bed before I hear the sound of her taking her shoes off. Shifting in until she's close enough to touch me, my mother turns me over until she can see my face.

I refuse to open my eyes so that she wouldn't see the angry tears in my eye.

"Arthur, please baby, you're making me worried." She says, her voice breaking.

My eyes immediately opens up I'm accord, hating the fact that I'm upsetting my mother. "I am fine mummy. I just need some time alone to think and digest everything that's been happening. It's a little too much for me to take."

She nods, taking me in her arm and giving me a side hug. "I know baby. I understand how you feel but you can't wallow away in misery for the rest of your vacation."

A small smile leaves my mouth before I could stop myself. "I was suspended, mother. It's not a vacation. I am officially a glorified delinquent."

My mother chuckles, glad she made me smile. "Same difference. If you weren't so grumpy about everything, I would have paid for a five day vacation in any county you choose. We would have had a nice time…just you and me staring at hot men until you had to go back to jail…high school, I mean. But you ruined it all by spending all your break locked up in your room, sulking. How sad." She finishes with a sad sigh, wiping off fake tears from the bottom of her eyes.

"Mum…" I squeak, unable to hold my laughter. "You are weird. Now I understand where my weirdness comes from."

My mother runs her fingers through my hair until my laughter dies down. "I am proud of you baby. So proud of you. Luca wouldn't have the chance he has now if you didn't take the blame for him. Ciara told me about his living situation, it's extremely bad to say the least. Education is his only way to escape and elevate his life. That's why he keeps working so hard to be the best in soccer. I'm glad you didn't allow his efforts to be in vain. I really trained you to become a gentleman."

I roll my eyes, getting grumpy again. "Too bad you didn't train Ciara enough to become a fairly decent human being. Bitch is a walking demon."

My mother's amused laughter fills my room, relieving some of the pent-up tension in my body. "By the way, Luca is waiting for you outside. He has been standing there for a while now, I didn't let him in because I wasn't sure you wanted to see him." She calls over her shoulder as she walks out of my room.

Like a crazed man, I fly out of my bed, almost breaking my legs while running down the stairs and almost walked through the door until the sharp pain of me hitting the door reminded me that I'm not a ghost yet.

Flinging the door open, I see a humble looking Luca with a bowed head. His hands are in his pockets and he is gently rocking on his feet.

His raises his head up when he hears the door opening.

Giving me a small smile and wave, he scratches the back of his head. "Hey Arthur. You've been ignoring my texts so I came here to see you."

"Where is your little girlfriend? I thought you two are joined by the hips." I spit out, pouring out the aggression of the last few lonely days on him.

"Violin lessons." He answers. "She doesn't know I'm here."

A defeated breath leaves my mouth, all the emotions I've been feeling since I got suspended suddenly dissolving into tiredness. "What are you doing here, Luca? What do you want?"

"I just wanted to thank you for helping me. I know you're mad at me for getting back together with Ciara after everything she did but I can assure you that it's only for the mean time. Once I get what I need from her, we'll break up."

I don't reply but watch him in confusion. What could he possibly need from her? Money? Sex?

"And and maybe then, we could ummm…I don't know. We could…" Luca draws circles on the ground, his eyes not meeting mine.

"We could go on a date. I've got to go now. Bye." He said hurriedly and runs off before I could reply.

I'm unable to comprehend what happened but when I finally do, a large smile spreads on my face. A scream almost leave my mouth but I mange to compose myself until I reach my room where I have a full blown celebration.

On Monday, I'm more than happy to be back in school.

I couldn't sleep the night before because I was so happy to be seeing Luca again so I got to school pretty late this morning.

I soon understand what Luca meant when he said he needed something from Ciara before breaking up with her.

He needed proof of everything she did and he found it in her dairy.

A printed copy of my sister's diary is pasted all over the school premisses and the contents are more than anyone could imagine.

The students of Royals high are having a filled day reading the diary.

I pick up the first copy I could lay my hands on and the first thing I read turns my life upside down.

The first sentence on the page says,

"I slept with Mr Smith so he can find a way to make sure Arthur fails all his makeup exams."
