Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200% Rebate System

Chapter 372: Prison Meet

George's eyes met Emily's, and for a moment, he remembered the instructions his father had given him.

Victor's voice echoed in his mind. His father, although cold and distant, had once visited and told George that the only way to get out of this mess was to beg.

He had to soften Emily's heart, even if it meant swallowing his pride.

If he could make her see him as weak and regretful, maybe, just maybe, he could find a way to freedom.

His lips curved into a sorrowful smile, and he looked at Emily as though he had been waiting for this moment for years.

"I thought you would never come," George said softly, his voice filled with fake sadness. He made sure every word sounded genuine, full of regret and pain.

Emily's eyes did not waver. She nodded slowly and said in a calm voice,

"You are correct. I wouldn't have come if it weren't for your shamelessness."

George blinked, taken aback.

He wanted to respond angrily, but he knew he could not lose control now.

Instead, he forced his sorrowful expression back in place and looked at her again.

"I understand you still hold a grudge against me for everything that happened in the past," George continued, his voice quiet but full of sadness. "It is only natural."

Emily nodded once more, her eyes cold. "At least you have some kind of self-awareness."

George took a deep breath, trying to suppress the anger and frustration rising inside him.

His face looked even more pitiful now, as if carrying the weight of the world.

"Even though I want to fix everything I have done wrong, I can no longer go back in time," he said softly.

Emily stared at him and responded calmly, "If you are truly so repentant, then you should stay in prison."

George smiled sadly, as though this were part of the script he had been rehearsing.

He leaned forward slightly, lowering his voice.

"If you give me just one chance, Emily… If you let me out… I will do everything you ask. I will provide you with any compensation you desire. I will prove to you how deeply I regret everything."

He paused for a moment, then continued,

"I feel guilty every day. Thinking about our child, I hate myself. I regret killing my own child with my own hands. I swear, one day, I will make it up to you."

Emily's eyes did not soften. She looked at George, her expression full of hatred.

"I only want one thing," she said coldly. "Justice."

Her voice was filled with conviction.

"As long as you remain in prison, I will feel that justice has been served," she continued. "If you are so remorseful, then you should not wish to escape your punishment."

George's smile faltered. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but Emily cut him off.

"George," she said calmly, "I have spent so many years with you, trying to believe that maybe you could change. At first, we had good times. But as soon as you began to show your ugly side, I walked away."

She paused, taking a deep breath.

"If only I hadn't been so stupid to give you a second chance after you cheated on me. Now, I realize the old saying is true. A woman is destined to suffer sorrow if she pities a man."

George's expression twisted with malice, but he did not interrupt.

Emily continued, her voice colder now.

"You became lazy after chasing me again and again for two years. Then, you made me work during my pregnancy, even though I was already weak."

Her eye flashed with anger as she added,

"Because of you, I lost my child. My baby was declared dead because of your cruelty, your selfishness."

Her words hit George hard. He clenched his fists tightly, but his face remained impassive.

He pointed at her through the glass, trying to sound superior. "You are becoming too arrogant," he said.

Emily chuckled softly, almost without meaning to. Her smile was full of bitterness.

"Not more arrogant than you," she replied, her voice full of contempt. "You were the one who, without shame, called me over and over, trying to make me feel like a burden."

She then tapped on the table and the glass partition lightly but firmly, her eyes never leaving his.

"If you dare to harass me again, I will make sure everyone knows about the disgusting things you did," Emily said.

Her words were laced with threat.

George's expression froze for a second.

His father, Victor, had warned him many times. Victor had made it very clear that if the truth about George's relationship with Emily ever came out, Victor would not help George. Instead, Victor would abandon him completely.

The threat Emily gave was something George could not ignore. He felt his heart skip a beat, and a flicker of fear appeared in his eyes.

George stood up abruptly, his anger trying to show, but he forced himself to remain controlled.

He took a deep breath, then suddenly knelt down, as if begging for mercy.

"I understand," he said softly, bowing his head low. "My actions have deeply hurt you, Emily. Please, just give me one chance."

Tears started to stream down George's face. His apology sounded so sincere, so convincing that anyone else might have believed him.

"I never intended to kill my own child," George said again, his voice trembling. "I swear to you, Emily, I am truly sorry."

But Emily remained unmoved. She did not even flinch as George's sobs filled the small room.

Her heart had long stopped believing in the words of a man like George.

She saw through his lies and his desperate attempt to manipulate her.

"I will not let you out," she said calmly, "and I will not forgive you. Even if you die... You will never gain my forgiveness. In this life forget about ever leaving the prison."

George's head remained bowed. His tears continued to fall, but they did not change Emily's mind.
