Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200% Rebate System

Chapter 366: Lucas's Proposal

After a moment, he took out his phone, his hand steady now.

He dialed a number.

As the call connected, he spoke excitedly, "I got the investment. It's true."

From the other end of the line, Jules was stunned by Lucas' words.

She had told him about Ms. Dawn, but never in her wildest dreams had she thought that Lucas would actually get the investment and end up having Ms. Dawn's support.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm the mixture of surprise and happiness inside her. She did not want to sound too excited, so she kept her voice steady as she said softly,

"This calls for a celebration. You should come to my house. I will cook a home-cooked meal for you."

Lucas paused for a moment before speaking. His voice was gentle and thoughtful.

"I was actually planning to celebrate with my family."

There was a brief silence. Jules' heart sank a little. She forced a bitter smile. "It is right," she said softly. "We can celebrate later."

She understood. This was a huge occasion for Lucas. He wouldn't spend it with someone like her. After all, their relationship was still undefined. To the world, she was nothing more than a divorced woman.

Someone who should stay away from bright people like Lucas, who was destined to become a successful CEO with millions in net worth.

Jules thought about all the times she had felt alone. How she had almost given up on living. How she had felt like no one cared about her.

Suddenly, Lucas' voice came from the other side of the phone. "Can you get ready and come to my house? I want to introduce you to my family."

Jules froze. Her heart skipped a beat. She could not believe what she had just heard.

Even though they had known each other for almost two months, she had never been sure whether Lucas even liked her. She had always been the one to hope silently, afraid to expect too much.

But now, he was planning to introduce her to his family. That meant he had known her for long enough to be proud of her. That meant he trusted her.

Her heart felt touched in a way she could not explain. But at the same time, she was scared. Scared of being rejected. Scared that she might get cast out again.

"Is that alright?" she asked softly, her voice shaking.

Lucas answered calmly, "It will be alright. It is a celebration. No one will oppose our relationship."

Her cheeks flushed a soft pink. "What type of relationship?" she asked, almost shyly.

Lucas chuckled lightly. "That will be discussed after I arrive," he said.

Jules felt her heart skip again. She wanted to ask more, but before she could, the call ended.

Her heart beat faster, louder than ever. She waited and waited, her mind full of thoughts and emotions.

After nearly one hour, the doorbell rang.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the door. She already had an answer in her mind.

Her thoughts drifted back to the past two months. Just two months ago, she had been on the edge of despair. She had wanted to give up on life, feeling worthless and invisible.

But Lucas had saved her. He had given her a reason to live again.

She had grown stronger. Slowly, she had started building a better life. She had learned how to build websites, taken freelancing gigs, and even paid her rent by herself.

This was her chance for a new beginning.

Outside the door stood Lucas. Instead of his usual casual clothes, he was wearing a black suit. In his hand, he held a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Her breath caught in her throat.

He smiled softly as he stepped inside, closing the door gently behind him.

Without saying a word, he handed the bouquet to Jules.

Her fingers trembled as she took the flowers, a warm smile spreading across her face. Her eyes glimmered with tears.

She turned to face Lucas fully.

Then, Lucas reached into his pocket and carefully took out a small, elegant box. He opened it, revealing a beautiful necklace with a delicate pendant shining softly in the light.

"I want to ask you something," Lucas said quietly, his eyes full of sincerity.

"Would you like to become my girlfriend?" he asked.

Jules closed her eyes for a moment, unable to believe that such a moment had finally arrived.

Tears slipped down her cheeks. She nodded slowly.

"Yes," she whispered.

Lucas chuckled warmly and hugged her tightly.

Her heart felt like it was going to burst. She had never felt this happy before. She felt equally loved, equally involved, and the future that once seemed to be sinking was now shining brightly again.

Lucas felt a strange happiness too. When he had first saved Jules, he had not thought much of her.

He liked her appearance at most. But as the days passed, he began to admire her personality.

Her playfulness, her innocent charm, and the way she looked determinedly at her work fascinated him.

More than that, he saw her efforts. He watched how she grew from someone barely able to pay her rent to a talented developer taking freelancing gigs.

Her progress was inspiring.

Lucas now understood that helping Jules had been one of the best decisions he had ever made.

He felt proud of her, but even more than that, he fell in love with her.

She was smart, focused, and determined. She had never asked for anything. She had only worked hard to rebuild her life.

Lucas had never admired any girl more than Jules.

In that moment, holding her in his arms, he made a silent promise to himself. He would never let her fall. He would support her, love her, and help her reach heights she never dreamed of.

Jules, still with tears in her eyes, smiled as she rested her head on Lucas's shoulder. Her heart was full of hope.

Life was truly strange. Once it seemed so bleak and plain that dying seemed better than living.

But now? Living couldn't be any better.

Time could truly heal all the injuries.
