Boosted Continuation – A new world (GL)

Chapter 228 – Too hardworking jaguar

The girls finally returned to their travels in the regular world and took a portal at the edge of the desert they had left behind a little while ago. Suddenly being subjected to such heat caused Chloe and Steph to run away, though. Once the cats caught up with them, the two received a lot of flak from them and were no longer allowed to be upset about their hatred for cold, thanks to this way-over-the-top reaction.

"Oh, it's merging with another river now, huh?" The girls had been following the river that Steph and Chloe had found by accident for a little while when Maya noticed a change in the scenery.

"It's turning into a much larger and wider river, too." Ari also looked at the water and commented on how it's turning into something much more impressive further downstream.

"Are we still headed in the right direction?" Sophia looked around while getting increasingly more confused. "If so, this river will surely lead us closer to the ocean!"

"We are slightly off-center, but it seems like it'll continue to go in the right direction as far as I can see." Anna nodded a few times while looking into the distance. "It's just obviously not going straight there."

"That's perfect!" The blonde happily clapped her hands.

"Because it will likely lead us to the ocean, or because the river reminds you of you, because neither of you is straight?" Maya raised an eyebrow while looking at her.

"Yes!" Sohpia replied with a smirk in her direction.

"As expected." All girls had the same reaction.

"Don't ask stupid questions if you already know the answer!" The blonde glared at them.

"Do you really think you're allowed to complain about that?" Ari slowly shook her head.

"…" Sophia's expression immediately turned awkward. "Anyway, let's continue to follow the river!" She wanted to change the topic for some reason. "Oh, I had an amazing idea just now! Back when we were in the lake city place thing, we got a couple of boats, didn't we? Let's use them on the river to get to the ocean!"

"Let's go!" Steph was an immediate fan.

"That sounds fun!" Chloe liked it, too.

"Sure!" Maya, Anna, and Ari had nothing against it, either.

----------------

Having decided on that, Sophia went ahead and got one of the boats they had bought in the lake city to use in her domain for fun and placed it on the river. She got one of the slightly bigger ones that fit all six of them together, as well.

"I like this more than running already!" Once everyone boarded the boat and started floating down the river, Chloe immediately let out a relaxed sigh.

"As expected." All girls had the same reaction again, only this time it was targeted at the lazy fox.

"Grr!" She didn't like that.

"She does have a point, though." Even though Maya was the loudest just seconds ago, she then looked at Chloe while nodding a few times. "It's quite relaxing already, even if we just got on the boat."

"Lazy can be fun sometimes~." Sophia smiled at her favorite pink fox. "Riding a boat to travel is also something new, so I very much approve. It doesn't beat running around, but I very much approve of it."

"I think so, too!" Steph agreed with her sister.

"Of course the energetic sisters would prefer running." Ari let out a small chuckle. "I think the boat wins for me."

"At least someone's reasonable in this group!" Chloe was glad she was heard.

"By the way, speaking of energetic, how's everyone doing on the biome front?" Sophia decided to use the time to catch up on things. "Kel and my parents kept me busy, so I haven't been checking up on things personally lately."

"My eternal ice kingdom is healthy and grows bigger with each passing day!" Steph was the first to answer. "The arctic area and ocean Chloe and I are making is coming along nicely, too! Though, we're currently focusing on flooding it with excess raw magic."

"That's great to hear…" Despite her wording, Sophia didn't look the slightest bit happy.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

"Ehehe~." The dog-girl liked the expression she was making.

"The wintery mountain retreat of Fennyfenny and I is basically done, as well. We just want to make the northern lights imitations a bit brighter."

"That's cool!" The blonde lightly clapped her hands. "That's about the only cold area I can openly accept!"

"As long as I don't have to leave the hut to look at the pretty lights." Ari somewhat agreed with her.

"That!" Sophia liked her added detail there. "What about you?" She was still looking at the jaguar. "You somehow ended up being one of the most active in my domain. You and Fen made the forest relaxation place, you made the never-ending inferno biome, helped Aura with her new pine forest, and not to mention the quarantined rainforest of you two. There's our island, as well. I didn't expect our dear jaguar to be so hardworking. Well, with the biomes, I mean."

"I also only helped with the inferno biome!" She raised her voice while glaring at Sophia for making it sound like that was the only thing she did on her own. "I'm not exactly sure how I ended up being in so many projects either, though."

"I'm definitely happy about it!" Sophia smiled at her. "I love that you're having a great time in my domain!"

"It's rather interesting and fun for the most part, so I'm glad to be of help." The jaguar reacted with a thumbs-up before suddenly tilting her head. "Wait, what do you mean by quarantined rainforest?" She only now noticed her odd wording.

"I'm a tiger, you know? Me likes the idea of a jungle or rainforest, so I went to take a look at the one you and Aura are working on the other day." The blonde's expression suddenly turned a little cold.

"A-Ah." Ari also froze up.

"What's up?" Anna got confused by their reactions.

"There are about a BILLION bugs in that rainforest!" Sophia stared at her fellow tiger with wide-open eyes. "I almost erased the entire area from existence on pure instinct alone! Luckily, I somehow managed to keep my composure! I've never been so shocked in my life before!"

"Your fear of bugs is way too over the top." Maya just slowly shook her head.

"There are around a million ladybugs alone in that rainforest." Ari had the same expression as her when she looked at the cat-girl.

"YOU SHOULD'VE ERASED IT!" Completely changing her opinion on the matter, Maya turned to face her tiger and grabbed the blonde's shoulders to shake her.

"You two are definitely made for each other." Chloe had no other words while watching the spectacle.

"Shush!" The two didn't want that to be their thing.

"What's the quarantine part about, though?" Steph was also curious about the topic.

"I made sure nothing can get in or OUT of the rainforest that is of the bug and friends variety. If I couldn't have done that in my domain, we definitely would've gotten a second eternal inferno biome!"

"I am so happy that you can control this place so well!" Ari sounded relieved. "I love my rainforest, so I would've been rather sad if it were gone."

"Well, if I were to only allow biomes that I like, Steph and Chloe would have a very bad time." The blonde glanced at the cold-loving couple. "Also, I want lots of diverse places in here, so the good have to come with the bad to balance things out. A bug invasion is not something I'll tolerate, though. Sure, there are many already around our cottage because we more or less live in a jungle, but your place is too much! That's why I contained it!"

"To be fair, all the insects came from the jungle, as our place was clean in the beginning, at least." The jaguar tried to defend herself. "They just exploded in numbers when they found our rainforest, as it had the perfect conditions for them to prosper."

"Explode definitely is the right word there." Sophia scratched her cheek. "That's also what almost happened to that place when I first went there… I probably should quarantine the area around our cottage as well, though. If I were to ever find a bug in our bed, everyone is going to have a bad time." Her expression changed again.

"And any survivors will have an even worse time." Maya nodded a few times. "After all, that probably means fun times were interrupted!"

"As much as I'm okay with insects and the likes, I wouldn't exactly want them inside, either. Especially not in the bed." Ari could follow her logic in that area at least.

"Also, if that army of bugs, with the help of yours and Aura's magic, ever end up mutating into something even more grotesque, we're going to have a problem." Her gaze turned cold again.

"I'll make sure that won't ever happen!"

"Good." The blonde started smiling again before shifting her attention to Anna, as she had more than enough of the topic. "What's our princess up to?"

"Not that much, I guess?" She tilted her head. "Our savanna biome is on the back burner at the moment because we need a working day and night cycle before adding animals, so I'm just pumping my magic in the area to train my powers. Other than that, I haven't started anything new yet besides helping the others out here and there."

"Don't forget about our glorious lagoon!" Maya didn't appreciate that their newest project wasn't mentioned there.

"That's already perfect, though?" The tall tiger looked back at her. "I was only thinking about ongoing projects."

"Ahh, fair enough." She accepted that excuse. "Any interest in creating a desert with me? As I mentioned when we were working on the lagoon, I'm still planning to make my own desert, and help would be appreciated~."

"Ohh, that sounds like fun!" The princess was an immediate fan of the suggestion.

"Is this planned to be another date, or are you accepting more than one helper?" Sophia joined their exchange. "I'd like to play a little with the desert, too. Traveling through it was great fun, after all!"

"Don't worry, I can take two tigers at once~." Maya smirked at her.

"The more, the merrier!" Anna's smile was a lot more innocent.

"Yeah, no, you can't take two tigers." Ari slowly shook her head. "I can barely handle my single one, and she's much tamer than yours."

"I did not specify which kind of handling, did I?"

"Nah, you can't take both of us in that type of context, either." This time, the princess turned smug.

"Sounds like you're having a good time with her, huh?" Maya looked at the jaguar instead.

"Very much so."

Once that topic was over and they caught up on each other's projects, the girls continued to float down the river on their boat while chatting some more about all kinds of things.
