Bodega Cat (System Apocalypse, Deck Builder, Litrpg)

31. Show me your deck

The thing about repeatedly sleeping with a girl that you had been lusting over for months was that you didn't want it to end. That is, if it was good.

With Kate, it was so good that Ashley didn't want to leave.

It was so good that they'd ran out of cheese.

So good, in fact, that they hadn't gotten out of bed to go across the block and buy more cheese.

"You think that we should... Get dressed?" Ashley sad.

"That's society's rules. Fuck society and this whole damn island. Wear whatever the fuck you want, girl?"

"Fuck wait I should... I should do a fashion show."

"Yes! That's a great idea!"

Kate was unable to hide her absolute Joy at that. It felt good. Ashley hadn't made someone happy, and she didn't even know how long.

The genuine happiness of the tall naked blonde girl on her bed at her antics that she put on peace after peace stopping at the third one to model it extensively.

"That's a cosplay, right? It has to be a cosplay."

"Ask no questions about this cosplay and you will be able to peel it off me later."

Kate made the sign for zipping her lips and then resumed her watching.

When Ashley came out with a fourth outfit, Kate wasn't even looking at her. She appeared to be tapping later. His system and Ashley Paul to check her own. Nothing had changed in her status, and she wondered if she needs to plot her cards. She hadn't received any messages.

There was a little log at the bottom where she could see the elastic she did was when a deck bear had pulled their cards across the street but that was ten minutes ago? Yeah, I was ten minutes ago. She took a second to check her watch.

"Ashley, I think we got a problem here, Kate said. What day is this?

"It's Thursday?"

"No, I meant which day since the integration. This is day five, right? Or is it six?"

"I feel like it's day six. Let me count back. How many days I've worked and that seems about right. Why what's going on?"

"The number of active dungeons just doubled."

"Well, that can't be good."

---

"Is that a cosplay outfit?" Raul said. "Because that is..."

"It's a cosplay outfit. Where are the police department. There should be somebody here?"

"Usually, we just knock on the door, and they are good."

Ashley nearly growled at him. "We already tried that, so I guess we're going to have to call for some help."

Raul opened the door and had to be checking on something. I expected there was going to be one or two of them in here, but it looks like they all went away for lunch or something?"

Paramount scanned down the street both ways. She checked second avenue and there were no visible police officers.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Maybe they all went for donuts. It figured.

All that mattered was that they weren't here which needed them and that that Kate's announcement had interrupted would have been, fun flirty time. She hated it when she had to quit a fun time. But she would get the word out for the good of humanity.

"Look wow we got a problem. These dungeons are spawning at twice. The rate that they were just what was it hours ago?"

"It's like they spawned an extra dungeon for every dungeon. That's spawning now. Some kind of fuckery is going around."

"Like yes, we've had first dungeon but how about second dungeon type thing right?" Raul said.

"Just like that," Kate said.

Within seconds, Raul had his cell phone out and was dialing.

Several apertures were visible from their location.

"Fuck," Ashley sighed deeply.

Groups of humans who had been looking at the spawn points were now gathering around the dungeon entrances.

The pizza rats across the street took that exact moment to decide to spawn and mess up somebody's day. A pedestrian walking by was knocked into the wall and Ashley found herself ordering her gentrifier crab to attack it.

"Save that woman," she said, checking to see if there was any more oncoming traffic. There wasn't.

The gentrifier crab was there lightning quick. She might... she was going to take whatever card it made and feed that into the forge and make another gentrifier crab. They were so useful.

The crab held the pizza rat in its claw as the woman got herself up. She was bleeding heavily on one side and could barely stand.

"Hey, can you... you're going to be okay we've got Raul calling the cops," Kate said holding out a hand for her.

They were going to buy more land at this rate. They were going to need to secure the roads as well as the buildings.

Did they spawn in the air? If they did that was bullshit.

If the mobs started showing up in buildings more often than that was going to be from a bigger and bigger problem. She hadn't heard of it yet, but she had also been in the building.

That was a safe zone now. And it really meant was that the pizza rats had to spawn somewhere else to get to them. Maybe she shouldn't have spent all morning intertwined with Kate, but she couldn't undo that.

And if she could? She wouldn't. She didn't know what she would do.

But there was something that she could do, and she did it right that moment. She used her swarm to take down any nearby pizza rats.

For the first time in a while, she was just by herself. True, Kate was there but she hadn't pulled her deck out. It would have been nice. But she didn't need it. She felt strong. As if she'd been to the gym and it had made a difference.
