BNHA: Accelerator The Strongest Hero

Chapter 204: Chapter 203: Ignored

Past the traditional Eleven District-style gate was a courtyard with landscaping, stone sculptures, a koi pond, and a small arched bridge. Eri gripped his sleeve tightly, staring at the scene before her.

As the base of the Shie Hassaikai, even the courtyard area out front wasn't short on guards. Besides the four lying on the ground already, bleeding out with uncertain fates, eleven fully armed gang members remained.

All of them were panting heavily, too afraid to even blink, fearful that the slightest lapse would land them with the same fate as their fallen comrades. Each had bloodshot eyes, clearly caused by extreme tension, unease, fear, and a growing sense of panic.

No one had seen how their four comrades fell, let alone had the chance to dodge or defend. Only a paralyzing fear stayed in their hearts. One moment, they were chatting and laughing; the next, blood splattered, and people collapsed as if it were a scene from a horror movie.

Holding large folding knives, guns, batons, tear gas—none of these weapons gave the group any sense of security. Facing that white figure ahead, they felt as helpless as they had as children, as if they had no experience handling such weapons.

In fact, because the guards assigned to watch over Shie Hassaikai's courtyard were the most skilled fighters below the top-ranking officers, it only highlighted the strength of their opponent. Surrounded by gang members, the white demon simply stood there, lost in thought, without making a single move.

These gang members weren't the type to have a good temper, and it didn't take long for one to muster up so-called courage, shouting with false bravado.

"Hey! You bastard! Are you tired of living?"

"Let's take him down first!"

Humans are strange creatures; when they can't handle something alone, they turn to the strength of numbers, gaining a kind of borrowed courage. Clearly, this ragtag group had training in "surround and attack." With a loud "Hah!" from one, a huge surge of power from Fantasy Hand flooded their bodies, glowing a pure white.

Sharp blades, roaring branches, blue energy projectiles, and straightforward fireballs all shot toward Accelerator at once. A few attacks even aimed at the small girl, Eri, standing behind him.

[It seems these small-time lackeys don't know her, so they likely don't have any useful information.]

After a brief thought, Accelerator came to this conclusion.

All attacks and any energy from these gang members were reflected back, with long-range attacks especially adjusted with slight tweaks like "trajectory correction" and "lethal angles." [Fantasy Hand] can enhance Quirks, but only a rare few Quirks block out pain, and it was obvious none of these guys had that kind of "lucky" Quirk.

Right after launching their first carefully "amplified" attack, it backfired on them. Instead of succeeding, the gang members let out painful screams and collapsed, rolling around on the floor.

Accelerator ignored this sight, and any hint of pity was completely absent. Anyone showing up in a place like this wasn't going to be a decent person anyway. Bloodstains and dirt marred the old, stylish marble tiles.

Calmly, Accelerator turned to the little girl still clutching his sleeve and asked,

"Kid, are you familiar with this place?"

Eri looked up at him and shook her head, dazed.

With a slight frown, he continued walking, as if strolling through his own garden. Meanwhile, in another [passage] deep in the hideout, Chisaki Kai walked slowly ahead, followed by a henchman in a bird-shaped mask, wearing a white coat on top as if to signify rank.

As they walked, Chisaki spoke up.

"I had once theorized a few ways top-level heroes might invade our [domain], but the plan felt too idealistic, so I eventually scrapped it."

"Never would I have guessed that [Vector Manipulator] would be foolish enough to trail me back here, even bringing Eri along so naively."

"The guy who beat AFO isn't as strategic as I thought — just some brute with frightening power," Chisaki added, shaking his head.

Behind him, the henchman responded with a bit of flattery.

"Isn't this perfect, though? I need to carefully test the strength of this top hero first. Even if it only buys us a bit of time, we'll be able to set up the [trap] with ease."

Chisaki looked a little reluctant as he replied,

"We spent so long grooming those pawns just for this moment."

"Have them focus all their efforts on gathering intel, pushing [Vector Manipulator] to his limits. Only by understanding the extent of his troublesome [reflection] ability can we plan his downfall."

The henchman replied respectfully,

"You're brilliant, young master."

As they moved from the courtyard to the corridor, Accelerator, with Eri in tow, easily took down several more enemies. Without exception, each one, loyal to the point of absurdity, attacked Accelerator only to end up discarded like trash.

Throughout this, Eri showed another small flash of fear — understandable, as this fanatical loyalty to the death would seem terrifying and dangerous to anyone.

Walking ahead, Accelerator pretended not to notice, scoffing as he ignored it all.

"Don't let the garbage these lowlifes spew get to you."

"They're not worthy of a word like loyalty."

"After all, wasn't it that bird-masked scumbag you fear who tried to escape, shoving his responsibility onto his underlings, making this whole mess?"

The white-haired boy and the little girl chatted here and there as they walked, eventually reaching a room with a decorative screen, set up like something out of an Eleventh District ninja drama.

It was one of those "ancient mechanisms" that required you to move things in a specific order to open up.

But Accelerator had no patience for fiddling with junk like this. A light stomp of his foot, and the path broke open under sheer force.

Who ever said you had to follow the rules?
