Chapter 89: Queen's Request
As the servers opened back up Ezekiel saw the room he had seen before, with a screen explaining new updates to the game.
~~~~~~~~~~
Stats have been given additional influence.
Strength- for every 1000 points into strength the natural defense against physical damage will be increased by 1%.
Vitality- for every 1000 points into vitality the natural regeneration of health, stamina and mana will be increased by 1% every 10 seconds.
Agility- for every 1000 points into agility the damage of critical strikes will be increased by 1%, additionally for every 500 point into agility there is a 1% chance of landing an artificial critical strike that deals 50% more damage rather than 100%.
Wisdom- each point into wisdom increases the total mana pool (this will not be considered as base value.)
Intelligence- for every 500 points into intelligence the amount of experience gained will be increased by 1%.
~~~~~~~~~~
With his current stats he was gaining an additional 3% regeneration every 10 seconds, an additional 2% crit damage and a natural 4% crit chance.
He had an additional 3800 mana to use but he was very happy to see that because of his high intelligence he had an additional 14% experience gain.
'So to gain a 100% resistance to physical damage I would need... 100,000 strength, to regain all of my health and mana back I would need the same for vitality...'
'To have a 100% critical strike chance I would need 50,000 agility which would actually give my artificial crits the same damage value as natural crits, but natural crits are still better since they are more damage.'
He was thinking about the best way to get these stats as high as he possibly could when the server finally opened.

As he examined his surroundings he saw that for some reason he was in a sort of tent, he was looking around in confusion when he heard the voice.
"You actually returned, I had hoped you would."
He turned to the voice and saw that the devil queen was there smiling at him.
He got nervous for a moment before he remembered how she had protected her city and the awe inspiring magic she used.
He figured the best way to greet a monarch was to bow so he began to kneel, he could not have guessed that this would cause an instant look of anger.
"Who told you that you should bow to me? I'm told you were not pleased with Kira, did she put the thought in your head that when you met me you should bow?"
She approached with a furious gaze but when she grabbed him she was not forceful, she actually grabbed him the way one would grip their friend when they were worried.
"No uh, you're a queen right? Aren't commoners supposed to bow before nobility?"
Her expressions shifted rapidly, at first she seemed confused but then she had fury everywhere and finally she seemed to calm down.
"Normally yes but you are not a commoner, you are the only male devil with an affinity for shadow magic and therefore you are the only one in the last two thousand years that I wish to court as my mate."
'....huh?....'
"Wait what?"
"I am told you do not like the way our people treat our men so I am speaking to you the way the beast kin would speak about courtship. I do not wish to be with one that cannot produce powerful offspring and since you are the only male shadow devil I would ask that you give me the chance to show you that I can be a worthy partner."
As she spoke he was lost in a sea of confusion and strange emotions.
He was flattered that someone as beautiful as her was interested in him but at the same time he was annoyed that she treated him like some dog for breeders to examine.
She spoke about him as if all she cared about was his genetics but he also felt that she was being genuine and respectful unlike the endlessly rude Kira.
"If you just want children can't I just... I don't know, donate? Do they have artificial insemination here?"
She looked at him in confusion.
"You know, the male... releases... and then someone uses a syringe to put it into the woman?"
"Oh... you know about the breeding practices of the tauren nobility? That's usually kept a secret."
"Huh? No wait nevermind."
"I was told by my dear friend that you do not like the way we do things, I don't care how my people look at what I do as I only desire a husband that can give my life meaning so if you do not have respect for the normal marriage offer then I would like to prove myself so that you will eventually accept me."
He sighed, he didn't like how she only seemed to care about his affinity but she seemed like a good woman, she was just a good woman that didn't care about him.
"Fine.... but I have some ground rules."
The queen nodded and looked him in the eye to wait for these rules.
"Ok first of all I want to freely move around without an escort, that just feels demeaning."
"If you are without escort then criminals will attempt to harm you to try to extort your coven."
He grimaced and realized that there actually seemed to be a legitimately good reason for such an outdated system.
"Ok but I want to choose the escort at least, I don't want another person that will treat me like a frail child the way Kira did."
He then sat down at a table that had been placed there the previous day he assumed.
"I also want free reign to level up anytime I wish, I only need one more piece of gear to have a full set of uniques but I want to get stronger."
She nodded and it seemed she was unsurprised by the fact that he had unique gear.
"And lastly I'd like to learn more mage skills from you so that I can actually be a powerful mage."
She seemed surprised now and she examined him closely.
"But you are on the path of the magus? Why do you care about mage skills when you should be focused more on the skills of your chosen route."
"What does that mean?"
She sat down in front of him and poured out two cups of tea for them.
"A magus is a warrior that uses the power of magic to enhance themselves, you appear to be going to the rogue route which has fine synergy with magic but requires excellent skills."

As he listened he nodded since he had been doing that until he actually started working with hand to hand combat.
"Ok but how did you know I was on this magus route? I didn't even know I was working towards being a magus."
She looked at him with surprise before she laughed.
"Your mana veins are constantly active."
He was surprised as well and nodded.
"Yeah? Is that not normal?"
She shook her head and held out her hand.
"Look at my mana veins."
He took her hand and with his mana sense looked inside of her body.
Inside of her body he saw many strange things that he did not understand, firstly she did not have a mana gem, she had some strange structure that he could not even begin to describe but it resembled a few moebius strips surrounding a fluctuating force.
He also saw that he mana veins were similar to hardened crystal branches that flexed like rubber.
In these veins her mana did not move at all, rather it just filled the veins like water unlike his own mana veins that pumped mana through his body like blood.
"I see... also what in the hell is that core?"
She smiled and pulled his hand toward her chest where her heart was, which was also where the core was located.
"That is a fourth circle fusion core, it is a sign that I am approaching the pinnacle of mortal power."
"To achieve the status of an archmage you must create your first circle and to reach the pinnacle of mortal power you must reach the tenth circle."
She beamed with pride as he looked astonished.
"That's incredible, what does it mean to have a circle though? Is it more mana? Does it grant you some incredible skill?"
She laughed and let his hand go.
"That can wait until later, you wont be making your first circle until you have brought your gem to the mythical grade. For now tell me what your little upgrade in power gave you which caused those things to attack my city."
She had a smug expression as she looked him from head to toe.
"Uh sure? How do you know I got an increase in power?"
"Oh you wouldn't have seen it, that is fair."
She went to retrieve a mirror for him to look at himself and the reflection he saw was something he never could have pictured in his life.
